KIFLAAAAY what a beast TT!
This is a dream ToA, everyone is performing. Thanks for making me happy Marco.
And don't worry Aquarius, I don't even want to promote. Actually I'm getting more and more worried about renewals... If I can't cut wages massively my plans are out of the window

Holy crap, indeed! What a goat ToA we're having Can't wait for the times I'm desperate for points and my team will do nothing, but I guess I should just enjoy the moment now

Still with a shot at the top 10 with Hoem. Can't complain.

Incredible performance by Reddit! Congratulations Vien!
Finally some mountain stages again now, Atapuma and Suaza need some very good performances to climb the next few days. |

Damn Vien, congrats!
2 in a row has gotta be a good feeling.
Meanwhile, Eyob is putting his stamp on the U25 competition (and in 13th in the GC!), Valls is consolidating 2nd in the GC and we've got the mountains coming up!
Looking forward to seeing how this wraps up...I think I'll be relatively pleased with the points haul in the end if Valls performs in the mountains.

Catching up again. Thanks for the pace of reporting Marco, appreciated!
Stage 10 was really poor when I'd expected this was where Berhane would start to claw time back, he in fact loses out to main contenders, slipping further away. Not good.
Stage 11 brought some redemption with finally securing a stage victory, though no time gain. Again the mountain stages not proving as tough (yet at least) as would be inferred from the parcours pre-race. While this is hampering Berhane, it is enabling his domestiques to hold on to decent GC positions for now, although time gaps are minor across a swathe of placings.
Stage 12 was yet another cluster-f*ck sprint stage, these have proven a real disappointment for managment. What was supposed to be JAC's opportunity to cap his solid career with a GT stage win and green jersey challenge in the colours fo the Colombian NC jersey has instead proven to be an embarassing slide towards stat loss year and potential retirement.
The big appointment at the stage 13 TT proved another good day for Berhane's domestiques, while he himself tried to limit losses. Time loss was expected, but this far into a race thought the gap might not have proven as big to main competitors.
The hilly stages, as personified by stage 14 have been pretty indecisive this go-ound of the ToA, and these opportunities to put time into the likes of Eastman et al. who perhaps can struggle at times on this terrain have proven to be bore-fests. Juarez showing his face for one of the first times this season to secure 4th on the stage bunch finish. His agent was straight on the phone to me wanting to discuss a contract for next year. He was bluntly reminded that the season started in January, not September!
On the cusp of the final week and the toughest stages remain. Unsure now whether to hope for mega tough racing that causes major GC shake-ups, potentially (one would hope), to the benefit of Berhane, or pray for more sedate racing, so the our mountain domestique contingent can maintain strong secondary GC placings. Remains in the balance whether we will get the points required here at ToA to claw our way out of the relegation basement or plummet into the depths.
Long screed, apologies.
Congrats to the likes of Azteca for whom Eastman has finally found his mojo after misplacing it for a couple of seasons, and the likes of Reddit who are winning stages left and right, as well as taking a stranglehold on the KoM jersey. Some of the CT teams also putting up a good show, come race end will be interested to see how many ppRD they manage to accumulate towards the CT standings.

That one bad day in the mountains for Yates has been mitigated nicely by the TT there - the time lost to Eastman at this point is exactly as expected now.
However, with the hills not being selective I just have to hope his superior back-up stats help him gain ground in the final week. Having seen Yates outclimb Wellens and Galta over three weeks before then outclimbing Eastman should be possible, but there may be too much left to do. |

Catching up on the great pace being set by Marco.
Haller still collecting points and hanging on in the mountains but his points jersey lead is getting dangerously slim.
Very impressed by my three climbers staying in the top 25 and keeping us in the team competition.
Congrats to reddit for the great performances.

I feel it's a bit calm before the storm here, waiting for that one favourite to have a horrible day. What a nerve-wracking race, thank you Marco! |

Fantastic stage for Compal! Horrible stage for Eastman, wonder why he imploded.

Wow, congrats Bjartne on the 1-2!
But also, Valls into the lead?! Let's go! Unexpected to see Eastman fading with all of his support, must've been a -5 kind of day...
Valls, Eyob, Pozzo and Cieslik all in the top 30 is a great sight for Kulczyk, and a boost to our promotion hopes, even if we haven't been pulling off stage victories nearly as frequently as we'd like. Consistency is key from here on out.
