In other news my Suisse team got knobbled. I had Asgreen and swapped him out for someone. Can't remember who it was but whoever it was didn't start so I've ended up with Koen Bouwman in my team
That's another race out the window then.

League table updated. Congrats to Clamel and Ember on their wins.
Clamel extended his overall lead at the Dauphine, however a win a 10 bonus points for ember at the Women's Tour sees him retake the overall lead. Ian Russell put in two solid performances but has still lost ground over the top two. He is pulling away in third with Timo and Freitas at a distant 4th & 5th.
It's turning into a two horse race. But who would bet agsainst Ian putting together a couple of overall wins to get back into contention in the second half of the season.
Two horse race ?. Never . It's a three horse (maybe more) race. It's a long season and it's fun for our league to see 3 of our teams in top 10 of Season Championship with over 20,000 teams. Ember had the lead once and crawled back in top 10. Nice.
I'm happy to finally won a race after gone winless since 2017.
It will be a hard battle perhaps down to the wire in the fall.

Well done Banesi on the Suisse win! My risky strategy of selecting the ever crash prone Thomas signalled the end of my top heavy Ineos challenge

Well that was a turn up. I was about 3,500/4,000 all the way through then jumped up to top 1,000 on the final day. If only I hadn't had Bouwman transferred in I might have been in with a shout of the PCMDaily win

League table updated.
Congrats to Banesi for his third individual race win.
Ember holds onto his overall lead. Clamel made up a couple of points while Ian was the big winner in Switzerland.
The Summer Velogames schedule is still to be confirmed. Hopefully the Tour will be included. Keep checking the Velogames site for updates.

Thank you both! It was quite close. The early abandonment of Thomas helped me a lot, indeed.
Now, I'm very curious in who will lead the Ineos Tour team, Thomas or Bernal. What do you think guys? |

Probably both be protected and let it shake out over the first few stages on the road, or even longer. (Ironically) Movistar demonstrated how that can work well as recently as the Giro.
We should have a poll:
Which INEOS rider will win the Tour in 2022? Nah, too many choices, it might crash the website

Congratz, banesi! Nice jump from my team as well, though my top5 is slightly perilous at the moment. |

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I'm out of the Velogames for the moment. Can't find the motivation, but enjoyed it a lot till this point. Thanks for keeping count Ringo, and I thank everyone for the harsh competition. I might join next year again |

Sorry to hear that, hopefully back next year.
Autumn Classics isn't that far off either and that's something fresh to maybe dip in to

Congrat Banesi to your win. Well done.
Sad you lost the spirit Purepasd. Hope you get back and in good form.

Hopefully we'll see you next season. I get where you're coming from. There are times when I can't be bothered to trawl through race results from the last few months to see if there is a potential 6 pointer who can score big points. That's why I generally never succeed because I don't really have time to do that anymore, especially when two or three races start in quick succession.
There might be a bit of a break for a while now seeing as the Tour is still up in the air. Maybe see how you feel by late July/August when the end of season races start.

Yeah, radio silence on the Tour doesn't look good. Either they are barring publicity or stopping the whole thing again. It really strikes me as ridiculous over zealous flexing on the part of the organisers. Stopping a free institution like Velogames, that represents a drop in the ocean to them, will leave a sour taste within the cycling fan base :/
Ironically the Tour is the least dynamic GT of the year and therefore most benefits from Velogames added interest - it needs all the help and goodwill it can get and it lost both for me last year.
I'm certainly avoiding any official game and will probably watch less again...
Can you imagine the outrage if the English Premier League suddenly started blocking all other fantasy football games...of course they couldn't so easily bully big organisations like the newspapers either - go after the little, independent guy who's made pro cycling even more fun for many years

Unsurprisingly no Velogames TdF again. Full announcement on the Velogames site:
"As a “one-man show” without a heavyweight legal team or large amounts of cash reserves, the safest approach for me and my family is to continue to run my games with the approval of rights holders or, perhaps more accurately, at least without their specific disapproval.
In short, running a game this year would incorporate a bunch of extra risk regarding potential expenses and hassle, with no guarantee of being to make it until Saturday without incident."

Sad, but completely understnad the guy. You don't want to go to war with ASO over a free game.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Yeah, it's utterly pathetic that they would force the little guy into that corner

Well the Tour looks to be cancelled again this year, however the Velogames Championship will continue at the Giro Rosa, where yours truly will be looking to defend his title.
The race is due to start on Friday so I assume it will be opening fairly soon. Keep your eyes peeled.
