Anybody notice Jan Polanc is still fighting for GC? Finished just behind Roglic today and held 7th overall. Good on him for fighting even after losing pink.

Uhm, what else is he supposed to do, go hide under a rock? Think in this field it is only natural he dreams of a top 10

I think he finished 11th a couple of years ago. So I guess he has the potential to hang on for a top 10 or get one after another successful breakaway.

Plus, Polanc has been more consistent this year. Every stage race he has started, he has finished inside the top-15. The next stage will be fundamental to see if he can stick around inside the top-10, but it is achievable. |

Shaping up to be a great race. Hoping Carapaz can win the race now, but its still wide open.
Also great to see Cataldo finally get a win at the Giro.

Roglic losing some time yesterday has made the race more exciting and given Carapaz a better lead which he will need with the next TT coming up. But that TT is the final stage so a lot can happen before then. Also I'm hoping Nibali can repay Caruso for all the work he has done (best dom so far) Also I noticed the remarks on here about Roglic's weak team, which is indeed weaker than I expected. I expected riders like Tolhoek and Kuss to be better but it does seem that Dutch teams have great GT leaders but weaker supporting climbers and this seems to be a trend.
Riders like Polanc can often finish top 10 of a race like the Giro and that will be even easier with riders like Jungels hitting brick wall
Big disappointment so far is the removal of the Gavia Pass.

Even if it’s not the amazing stage that was promised, still super hyped for Mortirolo day! Hope this can deliver a special set up for the last few days (and that Stage 20 is as epic as it could be in turn), and that we get some panache from the likes of Yates, Nibz, Landa and Lopez and a great fight. No real support from me to anyone, may he who dares win Except for Madouas, really going for him to hang on to his spot - what a freaking rider!!!

Love it Nibbles, take 20 over the top and go ham on the descent! Also very cool to see Antonio Nibali with a great cameo in support of his brother!
