Good to see Galta coming to life, but he really needs to learn from Nerz, and hopefully quickly, as that stage 13 seems perfect for getting into the breakaway, and hopefully caring about KoM points, like Nerz does. That's the only way he can have a decent Tour, to do similar to how he did in the Vuelta, where he saved his race through breakaways
One of those times you just have to smile and wait as a reporter - what a prediction ember
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Good day for Lecuisinier in the saddle. Too bad he didn't go earlier though, as he hardly gained anything from being much stronger than Sicard and Gesink today.
Disastrous day/performance from Vasyliv however...
Great win by Galta, and super strong by Nerz too. Both are looking for a very nice TdF all of a sudden. A good way for Puma to win the PT btw, as this could have been a better point-race for Moser with Barguil.
Nice to see Tzortzakis actually surviving this. It will be interesting to see if he has anything in the tank for the upcoming stage which will be one of three (at most) chances for him to land a stagewin.

What a spectacular stage, congrats ember! Brilliant victory! Too bad Galta jumped just ahead of Intxausti now
A very good 12th stage for us, but all our guys seem to be racing their own race. With a bit of teamwork we could achieve better results. Reis though has just been a very poor subleader though.
Loving the reports, jandal, keep pooping those stag...sorry wrong line

Great Race by the team, everybody contributed to controlling the race and Spilak did well to mark Taaramae. The first time this year that Riccardo Ricco shows he still got something left in the tank, outstanding ride by him. That's what we sacrifices the TTT for!
Also the great reports continue, fantastic.

Epic report Jandal, great read, congrats to ember for the breakaway win.
Shame Cav will not have a chance to grab a stage win during his last season at the top.

Great win ember, Galta putting himself in a great position here. Spilak allowing no breathing room, it looks like he will be tough to beat if nothing crazy happens.
Very well done jandal!

Freddy, Freddy Galta! Wow, amazing ride, big congrats ember! He never really lived up to his full potential in his career due to injuries and sickness, but that was proper racing.
Two quite good stages for Nesset, so good to see him join the top 25.

Nice solo; congrats!
Kangert losing time in such stages was to be expected. But it's starting to be a bit dissapointing to not see riders like Kruijswijk, Formolo, Karnulin or Sosnitskiy in any mountain breaks; they would all be perfect candidates to ride like Galta and Nerz.
Love our team rank though.

That was amazing. Just amazing. Thank you for all your congratulations, and a special thank you to jandal for the report. I've re-read it now to soak it all in, and I enjoyed every photo and the quality depth text wise as well. Just brilliant!
And this is easy to say now in the heat of the moment, but that feels like our biggest win ever in the MG. EBH had some amazing races and classics win, but such a win, a big surprise, done in such a way with an epic solo ride, it's insane
And suddenly, our Tour is turned upside down. Now it will be a big success whatever happens next, as that's our first ever Tour stage win as well. Though, I must admit Galta's fight for the KoM points on Col de la Madeleine, when he had zero points in the bag from previous stages, makes me hopeful of more to come. Fingers crossed he will put himself in more breakaways and chase those points. Could definitely be an interesting battle with Nerz, if they're allowed by the GC favourites and their teams.
For the GC battle, that was a very convincing defence by Spilak. Must admit I didn't really think he would be capable of such against Taaramäe, but this is looking very promising for the Slovenian. There's also the hilly stage left, where he definitely shouldn't loose any time and maybe even gain some, making it four tests left. Great that the fight for yellow seems to go all the way, as it makes for a thrilling final week. |

Hmm too bad Tzortzakis didn’t do better...
BTW: I believe there’s changes to the points GC top 3. That is not exported either - just to get the calculations right...

After being completely shit, we suddenly make a train and deliver Boeckmans in a pretty good position. Great to see and a nice 2nd place to round it off also. Think he needed that one!

Nice to see Vangstad try his luck and join the breakaway. We have to keep trying, and suddenly they survive. Vesely missing out in the positioning has to be expected once in a while when he's one of many just below the top two guys.
Congratulations on another one, alexkr! |

Sorry a bit about this report - 2 month gap between this and Stage 13 reports which I think shows a bit with the lack of coverage of some of the subplots - aside from when the riders finish, which I redid just now

The addition of Zardini surely is a huge plus towards the usual Koep only mountain support.
But still those rides are hugely impressive by Dekker in such field anyway. If he can somehow hold on to a top10 here or even a top8, this would be my best GC result in any GT more or less.
Though I would love to see Boom/Koep/Gallopin a bit more active. Next two stages should be perfect for an attempt as in the mountains it will be Nerz/Galta or whoever goes from the 10th-20th area in which I doubt Zardini will join. |

Absolutely pathetic showing from Lecuisinier. This is his worst GT performance in 3 seasons. Huge dissapointment to see him being with riders of that calibre, when he should be realistically fighting for close to 3rd in the GC. Horrible stageresults, but still up so high that he won't be allowed to go for stagewins. Dreadful stuff!
Also Vasyliv not really in the attacking mood and he'll end up around 30th in the GC.

Good to see Brambilla trying something. Not the best stage to try a move like that, but at least he won some places in the GC, which would put him into a very decent place if it were to finish like this. And, of course, it gives me hope that he will be on the move in the next mountain stages as well.
