Ahlstrand
Good that Rein stays in the front, always better to be safe than sorry

Another bittersweet day indeed. White and green until tomorrow and a valiant showing by Leung is definitely worth it.
Ahlstrand draws first blood in the sprints. Congrats, viking! Maybe he can have a good run of results in a GT after all this time.
Now bring on those dreaded hilly stages.

Perfect execution by Spotify and Ahlstrand! Congratulations, viking Seems like Bertilsson can prove very valuable as a key leadout here, if he can do similar things on the other flat stages.
Very nice to see Vesely give it a great shot as well. Such an eight place is far better than an anonymous top 10 placing after just following wheels. At least he fought for a podium here, and maybe he can hold it all the way to the line later in the race
Also thank you for a very nice report, jandal! Must say I enjoyed especially reading the text coverage of the sprint, as it was both detailed and exciting |

Sorry about the barren locales and some wrong sponsorkits - those aren't on me, and though some factors improve throughout the first week, everything graphical is performing at 100% by Stage 8

Boeckmans and Nesset both with stinkers over the last two stages... Can just hope ut will give Nesset more freedom to attack. At least something in it for us with a good ride from Van Niekerk here.

Both Boom and Dekker were doing fine. In especially riding for each individually.
Was an obvious GC losing stage here for Boom, but nice to see him trying that actively.
Zardini and Gallopin with a bigger time loss than necessary I guess, but it`s quite good as it opens room for breakaways now.
Gesink on a mission while also Spilak gained on Taaramae. Making it an interesting Tour I hope. |

Dennis doing fine with the attack. He's just not classy enough to make it stick, a pity the big guns took over the control But he tried and that's good.
Bad stuff from Haig though. I don't care about Lecusinier and this U25 competition, but please don't repeat this pathetic ride from the Vuelta, Jack.

Wow, what a try from Vakoc! And so close to success and the stage win as well, a pity Gesink wouldn't hand it to him
Very nice to see Gesink get a handy advantage though, as he might make for a serious challenger to the top two, if he can build on this on the hills.
GC wise a disaster for us, unfortunately, with Galta losing no less than six minutes. Fingers crossed we'll see him shift focus similar to his Vuelta ride and chase the KoM jersey when we hit the mountains. If not, this will quickly become a poor Tour for us. |

Great to see Gesink finally winning a stage and getting the yellow jersey in the Tour de France!
Brambilla with another way below expectations performance.

So, worst case scenario from the get-go on these hilly stages. Both leaders on the 4'30 group. Still two of these to negotiate... it may well round up to more than 10min deficit by the end of it. Not looking good.
Gesink though delivers a much needed, and deserved, victory for Berg. Congrats mate!

Interesting decision to have the Queen stage come so early on in the race.

Despite of the U25 lead, this was a horrible result!
Lecuisinier losing over 2 minutes... No chance for GC podium, and we havent even started yet...

Sorry my pictures process screwed up somewhere along the way and we missed some stuff towards the end I'll try to stop screwing up

It's another difficult day for Galta and his GC aspirations, which I suspect can now be put completely aside. Sitting 54th overall isn't optimal
Just hope it means we'll see him active in the mountains, which can potentially more than make up for this.
Also nice to see Vakoc hang on to second place overall, eventhough it seems like the previous hill stage was his chance to shine, as he's admittedly a level below the best puncheurs/stage racers here, as shown on this stage. |

No further big damage for Haig, but I have to repeat: the TTT and breakaways are the only chance for us to get the stage win, that we need here. So, lads, you better start showing our colors in the early breaks!

Good performance here from Lecuisinier. Too bad that gaps weren't bigger here to give an advantage over Haig before the TTT...
Gesink doing really well so far doesn't bode well for Lecuisiniers chances to put up a fight - and also 1'30" behind Sicard is really not good. I hope he can somehow claw a bit back before the TTT (On Sicard), as the TTT will be really bad from us.

What a landslide...
After Machado's 10min loss in a single stage in Switzerland, Reis delivers this crushing 9min loss performance. It's just bad luck everywhere we go. I guess I'll just pass tomorrow's report.

Stage 3 was really not good for us, loosing more time than I would like. Managing to stay together with Spilak and Gesink on Stage 4 was much, much better and really important. Just 1 more hilly stage now.
Amazing work by Pernsteiner for Isostar btw
