Kamna not starting and Thomas abandon was bad, but still got into the points 3/3, first time that has ever happened I think.

As Freitas says, the Spring Classics game is now open. This will be a double scoring game. Please make sue you enter the 2019 league as i will not be counting any other scores from now on.

I won Paris Nice in 2017 too  I usually peak from March to the end of the classics... then drop down at the grand tours...

Since VG put up TWO versions of Spring Classic of course I ask which one is the one we consider to be the counting one ??
I read this twitter this morning and it will come up on the VG-site soon.
The extra Spring Classic now about to launch is the OLD system with max changes.
Ringo you better quickly make a statement on what is our race.
George calls it a Squad Game.

I guess for this year we will only count the original Fantasy Spring Classics Game for points towards the Championship. There might be players who have already joined and won't look at the league again until after MSR and so will miss out on the Squad Game.
Obviously everyone is free to play the squad game. It just won't count towards the PCM Daily Championship scores.
It sure is getting complicated running a competition around a game that keeps changing its rules and what races it's doing
I note that the Volta a Catalunya game appears to be up and running as well.

So we are just going with the Spring Classics with unlimited transfers between rounds and not the "squad" game?
Thank god for that if so - I barely have time for one Spring Classics let alone two! It's the most intensive bit of the Velogames season, unlimited transfers or no

Yeah, Catalunya will do for me. I'm glad to not have the 24 transfer headache this year. Unlimited transfers plus Catalunya will be tough enough!

I did now join both the normal and the squad one. Thought it would be a lot easier but points for obvious reasons are different and number of riders as well. So not very likely that my squad team will get all the changes, while I will try to get my league team transfers done as good as possible as activity surely wins in that.
Catalunya was a quick one for me. Not too happy, neither too unhappy with it, but might ignore any late changes I think. |

Catalunya has some of the highest rider credits I’ve seen, this will be tough setting up a team. I’ll wait until further startlist updates.  |

I would actually vote in favour of the squad game, as that is what we've been doing the last years. Not really a fan of unlimited transfers, it's really just 11 seperate races that way. The whole point of the spring classics was that it was a series.

The reason I've stuck with the original is because that was running first. People had entered it before the Squad game was added. People may have entered the classic league and won't check the site again until MSR. It's not fair to change the game we're using 24 hours prior to the start and risk eliminating some players from the game.
You can still play the squad game. It just wont count towards the PCMDaily Competition.

I even thought we could have a different view this year, but that would be an immense pressure on you Ringo, so better not.
Since the new Spring Classic actually are a bunch of one-day races then threy could have counted as just that with the normal point system.
The weight for you, Ringo, would have been too high. That I understansd.
Either way I earlier thought that some "extra" points could have been handed out for each individual race within the Classic. That's my "ambitious" view. But as said earlier too much trouble to keep the stats in order. And we got Catalyuna too. Wow.
Good decision in the end running with only the "first" classic. Just wanted it to be known and clarified ASAP.

Yeah, if there was more notice about how the games would look then I could have a better look at options. In this case the squad game was added just over 24 hours prior to the first race with no prior warning. It's not really fair to start changing the rules and what games are going to be included with no real notice.
It happened a couple of years ago when a Tour de France KOM comp was added during the Tour de France game. Probably shouldn't have been allowed to count as some players will have missed the entry deadline if they didn't visit the site for a couple of days.

I think that transfers (I mean limited) were that thing which was special for these series. Its pity that it came out so late  I will probably stay just in the main Classic game. I agree it would be too late to make changes in our championship here but game with limited transfers would be definitely better!

I suggest that if George goes ahead with the Squad Game for the Autumn Classics we could see how many of us would want to have the limited transfer mode as the official game for our championship. |

I recall that added TDF KOM. Just after PSagan got DSQ I think. I was a bit pissed and didn't check the VG for some days. Got back to see I missed out on this KOM. Doubled pissed for sure.

Wow, truly awful start - at least the first 200km of MSR were good with Tonelli making the break...that's about it

I haven't watched the race. I recorded the live race but haven't had chance to watch. I gambled on sprinters. It appears that punchier riders were the way to go this year.

Hopefully we will have more notice next time. Normally I would agree that the squad game is the preferable option. It's just that in this case there was too little time to include it and make it fair. The other game had been open for a couple of days earlier and had already been declared the official game. You can't really start changing races and adding races with less than 24 hours notice.
