yes the development of other riders uses the experience points too
for example when a rider gets older he starts losing experience points just like the player pro cyclist does when he gets older
and when a rider loses points below the threshold of a level his stats all go down
take a 40 year old rider already in the db like valverde or so and change his experience points to 20000
youll see his stats will stay the same for years until he finally loses enough experience points to go under 11000 |

After using the updated stats, i get a "Mod checking FAILED" box when trying after picking the database when starting a race. What could this be, I've never seen it before? |

youre using a mod that may not be entirely compatible with the new patch that was released a few days ago |

As far as I recognized in my tests there are no issues with the game despite this "Mod Failed" sign, it works as intended. We'd need somebody that knows more about dbs to check up on this issue and how to avoid it in the future, not just a couple of statmakers that try to keep the community up to date with the stats
So if anybody could elaborate on this issue, feel free to PM me.

Much like Bernal last season where we had to wait to see if he lived upto expectations which he did and that is why his climbing stats are now so high. The same situation now exists for the riders you have mentioned as they have made the jump from CT to WT where they need to prove themselves at this level before being raised to higher levels. You have mentioned two of the greatest potentials at the moment in cycling but we can't base high stats on just potential

Just curious, in the features list it mentions "totally revised stats and potentials". Does this mean that potentials have been altered to reduce the insane growth that is in the base game?
Im aware adjusting/lowering potential doesnt actually slow down progression, but by the 2nd season there are usually about 40-50 riders with 79+ Mountain. Im not sure there is much anyone can do, since iirc the AI trains riders in only one stat, which is mainly why I haven't played 18 that much.

we are aware of that problem but we couldn't find any solution for that yet - it is our goal to solve it in one of the next updates though, if we find something that makes it possible...

I was just joking, they will get there in the middlevof season 2 anyways. Pogacar was already reaching 80 climbing on 2018 database.

Alright thanks! I wish we could still adjust the rate of progression like we could in previous games. I've read that the STA_Progress "fix" doesn't work anymore, but maybe I will try adjusting it anyway.
As well as that, theguyeveryonehates brings up an interesting idea at the top of the page Thatguyeveryonehates wrote:

Im not sure theres a way to edit the starting experience points, but maybe thats something that could work, although I havent done any testing.

There must be something. For example Halvorsen in 2017 db would ALWAYS pop to next level before first race, I brought this up, cause it basically eliminates the whole first season as you're winning pretty much all sprint races with 74/5/6 spr/acc guy. The thing I could see helping is mass increasing levels of riders to prevent super quick progression by youngsters.

I think Astana team has been undervalued in 2019 DB. A great example of that is Ballerini. At leasts this one must be updated.

Well Ballerini is a new rider at the team and as for the other riders I would have said most of them are with highish stats and most are solid 70's riders and may well average out higher than a number of other teams. Apart from Ballerini which riders are you mostly referring too?

Aru seems a bit weak here, last year sure wasn't his thing, but as a former GT winner I think he deserves better. 2015 isn't that long ago. In 2017 I think he was also doing quite well in Le Tour before he got sick. Putting him behind guys like Majka and Pozzovivo seems a bit harsh.
I'd also put Dennis on par with Dumoulin in TT stat. Last year, Dennis defeated Dumoulin in every TT except the Giro prologue which he lost by 2 seconds.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

To be fair, doesn't the Daily DB only take into account the last two years too? And Pozzo has consistently been at the front of Giro GC.
I mean, in reality, 2015 was pretty long ago. That's like if we judged Ivan Basso in 2014 by his 2010 Giro win.
