Like almost every year Giro is expected to be a spectacular one

df_Trek wrote:

I really don't understand why put the half way to Nivolet just until Ceresole Reale, with the 3 Km tunnel that probably will be decisive without media coverage, and the spectacular part starting right after Ceresole, bah!

and I was luckly wrong, The uphill finish is over Lago Serrù at 2200 not just in Ceresole at 1600 (a pity bdw not at 2612 at the top of Nivolet) and they are fixing the old road outside the tunnel!! that's the most important one, a very spectacular road with 14/15% gradient between narrow rocks, it might be a terrific stage finish.

Stage to Pinerolo kind of underwhelming after so much hype created around it. But Mortirolo <3

As always the Giro seem way more interesting than the other gt's.

Last time the TDF was exciting is more than 10 years ago. Guess we could call that an anniversary.

You're supposed to start these threads with irrelevant news. I'll add some then: Cofidis rider Bert Van Lerberghe had his bachelor party today and as a last minute surprise was forced to ride the tough Koppenbergcross by his "friends" Lampaert, Debusschere, Declercq and some other pro cyclists he trains with. Finished last, but I'm sure they all had a good laugh.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Burgos-BH may have their PCT license revoked after another rider is banned for testing positive for doping - Ibai Salas is banned for 4 years, with the team facing 15-45 days suspension and most likely exclusion from the UCI proesssional ranks like they did with Soul Brazil a year ago

I like them both, very good start for the kit unveiling season. Smile

I like them old ones better but the new ones seems acceptable.

I really love them

I wish Trek would put the same level of attention into rider recruitment and contract security as they clearly put into the design of the jerseys (the Sosa affair has left a really bad taste in my mouth, even if it's unclear how much the team itself is at fault and how much the problem lies with the agents the rider).

Totally agree in your point.
Unfortunately their quality in performance and squad does not even come close to their excellent designs. But they're getting closer! I'm glad for the transfers..
Matteo Moschetti (Polartec-Kometa, 2020 - Stagiaire 2018)
Richie Porte (BMC Racing Team, 2020)
William Clarke (EF Education First, 2020)
Alex Kirsch (WB Aqua Protect Veranclassic, 2020)
Giulio Ciccone (Bardiani CSF, 2020)
Edward Theuns (Team Sunweb, 2019)

No matter what. When you take an american bike producer and an Italian coffee company to combine a cycling team, it doesn't get any better than that Smile

Former Saxo Bank rider Jonathan Cantwell has passed away at 36. :/

I have some hope for Theuns, Ciccone and Kirsch but I don't think that Porte can deliver any kind of solid three week performance. I still like Trek and support them but I wish they would find and nurture a proper Grand Tour specialist rather than paying top dollar for older guys. That's why the Sosa stuff seems like a huge missed opportunity.
