Do you know how they fixed the stat matrix between mo and hill? Meaning if hill would effect mo and vica verse?
As far as in-game experiences it seems like there's a difference in comparison to 17. I remember a version where hill positively influenced to mo stat, therefore I downgraded Valverdes mo stat..
Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.

I dont know where it is but it's been shown several times in the forums the formulas they use.
Kinda over 96% is 100% hill.. 70% and below is 100%MO.. between 70 and 96 its a mix of the both, logically balancing where it's needed.

That's how I meant it as well for Roglic, I'm just already assuming he already has a rather high res because of his TT skillset.

Unless they changed it in the patches there was a lot of discussion when 18 came out and consensus was 86 and over uses 100% MO stat

85 and under is mountain, between 86 and 94 is a mix of MO and Hill and 95 plus is hill iirc.

Just an update and Olifardh has exactly the stats that we have decided on:
Valverde 78/82
Yates 81
Roglic 79
It was decided that Roglic with his very high res and TT skills that he still needs to be 1 less than similar riders like Thomas and Dumoulin who to be fair have won GT's.
Quintana has been increased again to 81 which will either please some or annoy others, it was decided that with the exception of his rec his back-up stats are lowish for a leading rider.
Also fav races and climate stats are being upgraded along with other stuff and should be released soon with the above stat changes as well.

So I was wondering if rider speciality will influence stats development.
For instance I want Moscon to grow well in all stats without compromising other stats. His rider speciality is "Puncheur/attack" but he is solid in every stat with potential to grow huge in all areas. I want to make his development "all round" meaning no downgrades but slow upgrades in all stats. I noticed if I coach him mountain, the cobble stat will fall...
How should I progress that? Potential 7

You sadly can't really control the pattern in which a rider develops without touching the general development lines. That has been done for expansion packs in the past, so you may find a nice file in previous episodes.
Speciality most likely hints on the direction of how a rider develops, but it doesn't necessarily mean that he develops like that. It also depends on randomized numbers and stuff inside the PCM engine, how "a team trains" the rider (which is often weird).
Also, how good a rider will become is not solely based on potential. You got the best chance of him becoming world class with Potential 7 (or 8, but I don't recommend it for the sake of game balance). Then again though, random numbers (for how fast a rider increases in a certain time span) and semi-random ones (for how the stat limits of a rider may look like) influence development, so a Pot 5 rider can end up much better than a Pot 7 guy.
The development has become a lot more realistic in FM 18, hence cobbles naturally go down when you train mountains - it's a trade off even guys like Sagan have to do irl.
What I'd propose you is going into the editor (fast editor is my preference) and adjusting the stat limits of Moscon. You can make sure that he is able to become the rider you want him to become, if you just train him carefully according to these plans afterwards (and send him to the right races, watch his developmental needs,...).
Don't hesitate to ask further questions

Awesome, I'm sick of seeing young guys like Mbappe becoming one-note sprinters
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Thanks for your elaboration. I though remember cobble stat has been downgraded when training mountain for several editions or am I wrong?
I really miss the rider speciality "all-round" which also should be a training option..
" (and send him to the right races, watch his developmental needs,...). "
So are you saying development also depends on races?

I can't tell being 100% sure, but I imagine that there might be a link between the achievement system in the single-rider career and the development in the full team career. So achievements/certain races may indeed indicate development. That of course with all the random factors is hard to elaborate and very time-consuming to test with a significant outcome.
