Also sad to announce that Tanguy Turgis, who placed 42nd in Paris-Roubaix this year at just 19 years of age, as retired cause there was an heart malfunction found.. Sad to hear but glad it's been detected before anything very bad would happen.
This news comes with a bit of an eerie irony... Jimmy Duquennoy, a WB Veranclassic rider, has passed away at 23 after suffering a cardiac arrest in his sleep this Friday...

Heart attack deaths of cyclists at the age of 20-25 begin to increase over the past few years and becomes very alarming. Something needs to be done.
what is really concerning me that a good precentage off these fatalities are belgian riders. maybe its selective memory tho

It's true as I'm the same I see that people associate this with possible doping, and it being related to the possible issues.. I'm not denying that but before it may turn into a discussion I wanna point out that Belgium has an enormous number of professional riders, and hundreds of high-level amateur athletes, and it's a country where cycling is loved and practised massively.. and these cases sometimes happen, due to bad luck, or ignorance, we will never know.

Another African less for Dimension Data, as Kudus joins Astana. And whilst Lefevere's presenting a new sponsor tonight, his QST team is likely to lose Narvaez to Team Sky.

Rob Stannard has jumped up to Mitchelton-Scott early, and will make his debut in Tre Valli! This kid seems very talented, an all-arounder from mountains to hills to sprints (3rd in RVV Espoirs btw though that's more about toughness than cobbles) and recently won U23 Lombardia. Have been following his results this year and looking forward to watching his progress. Hate to support an Aussie so easily but this guy has a very bright future I hope with his skillset.

Stannard's really good. If Mitchelton have a balanced approach to his step-up to the pro peloton, he can become a very important asset for the team in a few years, maybe showing himself on some .1 or .HC races too already. |

I think, right now, Stannard may have some progression in terms of 3 week races and time-trial, though I see him more as a classics/one-week long race kind of guy, at least in the beginning of his pro-career. Power has stalled a bit after his injury, but I'm hoping he can find better momentum at Sunweb next year. |

More like Duh-coin-ink, but the middle part isn't right, I can't think of an English word that gets the "eu"right.

Is it the same as the eu in Dylan Teuns (which I probably pronounce wrong anyway)?

It can be complicated for some (including me ) cause for example I do hear the Dylan Teuns pronounciation in there, but Keukeleire I see it completely different and surely some names the same

I sure hope he comes back to normal too, mostly for the sake of the team, not the same Euskadi but they had a brilliant season and I'd love to see them repeat next season.
