...and there was me thinking the Vuelta was already going badly for me. Last minute change with Ben King and Valverde out, hmm

So yeah, confirmed, that was the most disastrous last minute switch I think I have ever made

Ouch - who came in instead?
Meanwhile I had a better last minute switch this morning, bringing in Stuyven in the Classics league for a 1-2 in Brussels.
Now to have a go at a Tour of Britain team.

Another good last minute change with Ackermann in to prevent me from a disastrous doughnut score. |

Pinot and Teuns I think. Wondered about Valverde's focus being 90% on the worlds but should've known better, he's always competitive!
Nice to get a 1-2 in Brussels with that late switch.

Well that was a turn up for the books at the tour of Britain. 1st after the first stage. I picked a quick team and then meant to go back and make changes but i just forgot. I only put Thomas in so I had a team to enter. I think he'll fail over the week and will cost me overall. Oh well, at least I'm doing OK in 1 of the 3 current races.

Also, I haven't really been following the Vuelta this year. Is Dan Martin actually racing? He's got me 0 points so far and is really costing me.

I have the same question about Adam Yates

For any King left out, there is a Tonelli elsewhere to give Ian some extra points. |

Aaaaaaaand normal service resumes
My failure to change my team and take Thomas out has cost me as expected.

Much the same thought process with both - cheapy that might be strong enough for a breakaway win. Would've preferred the double points from the Vuelta but lacked conviction in my original picks there...

League table updated with the Tour of Britain results and it can't get much closer. Just one point separates Ian (307) and Ember (306) going into the final two races.
Congrats to Freitas on his win and 4th overall at the TOB. A points haul of 45 has moved him up to 3rd on 270. Lord di Lego is on 263 and both are still in with a very outside chance of catching the top two if everything goes their way in the final 2 races which are both doble pointers. 200 points are on offer (including the bonuses) but no one is going to score that many.
Everyone else is playing for the top 3 at best.
The current positions of the topf four in the two remaining races is:
Ian - Spain 12th & Autumn 13th
Ember - Spain 6th & Autumn 16th
Lord di Lego - Spain Outside top 25 & Autumn 14th
FreitasPCM - Spain 18th & Autumn 9th
Anything can still happen, especially in the Autumn Classics game, but if it ended today we would have a new overall champion in Ember.
It's going to be an exciting run in

Hmmm I think you meant LaChouffe. The overall standings are correct, as I collected a tally of 16 points in Britain, making it 270 total.
It will be curious. Not a brilliant Canadian classics for me, but still got over half transfers to make, can be pretty open since the Italian classics are unpredictable. Will be fun to follow this close competition. Cheers to all! |

Quite happy as well with the early Autumn Classics and Canada in especially.
15 transfers left. Worlds though one of the hardest to pick and might be the decider in the end. |

Appologies, Yeah, it was LaChouffe who won. Congrats to him. Yeah, points are correct. I just did the table update and by the time i'd updated the league table I forgot who had won. First post will be updated to show the correct winner of the race. Cheers.
