UCI has made official the route for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Really tough course

quite good, I sill prefer if Fuji would have been closest to the finish, but not being a stage from GT, it could be interesting route too

Chaves has been diagnosed with mononucleosis, will keep him sidelined for an undetermined time. Probrably what has been affecting him since the Giro.

Chaves was diagnosed with lots of viruses including glandular fever after the Giro (where he lost 25 minutes and struggled to 72nd on GC after being second). Back on the bike now but will miss the Vuelta and maybe the rest of 2018 Sad I always thought he was sick and maybe it would be announced, but really sad he misses the Vuelta. He looked like the Etna win meant so much to him after 2017 and was ready for the top again. Most important thing now is he's healthy for 2019 and he can finally enjoy some good health and his peak years.

Dunno man. He might be a bit old by then.

Already been reported earlier in the thread, but it is terrible news. As I said earlier, the real tragedy is that he left pro cycling in part due to the death of Chad Young and then this happens just months later in a complete freak accident. The reports seem to suggest he is lucky to even be alive.

I don't think he had ruled out coming back to cycling after a break so I guess he will need to completely re-evaluate his life now.

Hopefully he can make as full a recovery as it's possible to make in the circumstances.

Apparently LottoJumbo is about to sign Tony Martin.

Lotto-Jumbo is hugely performing in past couple month and slowly become one of the top teams in cycling I feel.
Roglic and Bennett hugely improved to good stage racers including GTs while Kruijswijk was always a great GT rider. Groenewegen is a top3 sprinter as well while they have big talent in Kuss and Powless while also Tolhoek is looking pretty well.

Most important though that a lot of them signed long-term with them already and Tony Martin with his experience and TT strength would be really a good match imo.

Think Groenewegen will profit the most as having a long leadout for like 2-3km high-speed until the 1-2km mark will help a lot.

They've defo improved alot. Was it Lotto Jumbo who went a whole season without winning a race a couple of years ago? Or maybe it was a whole 12 months. I seem to remember them going a long time without a win because the Eurosport commentators mentioned it every time a rider got in a break Smile

2015, I suppose. First win came in May at the Tour de Yorkshire, I believe, thanks to Moreno Hofland out of all riders. Pfft

It must have been world tour wins. Looking on their Wiki page Theo Bos won stage 3 of the Tour of Poland on 6 August 2014 and then they didn't win another World Tour race until Jos Van Emden won Stage 4 of the Eneco Tour on 14th August 2015 Smile

I knew it was something like that.

Cavendish is still not racing due an unspecified "unfortunate injuries". Maybe he is considering a break or is in lack of motivation...It's hard to see him back at top level imo

Cannondale is what you're thinking of for winless iirc, 1 or 2 years ago
