Good racing in Britain and Austria, shame he couldn't overthrow the sky train (but 20th and some great stage results and racing is amazing still!) or hold on for the win (looked super strong!) but promising nonetheless.

Losing four out of our first five games while I sat on bench with a cast on my wrist wasn't ideal. But, I'm back and we are coming off a 6-0 win against Harrow.
It's time to turn this around and get back to the top of the table, hopefully.
Match Day #7 at Bedford (1-1-3) Did we save any goals after our last game?
Spoiler Witham 3, Brentwood 0
Summary: How we didn't score is beyond me. We outplayed them.
Rating: 6.7 - I've definitely played better, but also worse.
Player of Game: Jack Cresswell, Witham (7.3)
I was racing in the Tour of Britain and couldn't take part in Match Day #8 against Grays (3-1-2). After giving up a penalty kick goal in the 30th minute, Witham pulled a win out of nowhere with top striker Daniel Akindayini finding the net in the 86th minute and then three minutes into stoppage time Akindayini picked out Luke Mallett on a cross. Mallett pretty much headed it at the keeper, but somehow the keeper couldn't handle it to give Witham a lucky 2-1 victory.
Match Day #9 at Brentwood (1-1-5) Doing double duty after completely Stage 7 of the Tour of Britain.
Spoiler Witham 0, Bedford 0
Summary: Three goals, all pretty spread out.
Rating: 7.3 - Pretty easy match for me and I didn't go 100% either after racing a pretty exhausting stage for JLT Condor.
Player of Game: Ryan Charles, Witham (8.1)
Match Day #10 vs. Dereham (1-2-5) Must capitalize on struggling teams, and prove we are the better -ham.
Spoiler Witham 3, Dereham 0
Summary: The midfield presence of Marcus Diamond controlled the match. Another convincing 3-0 victory.
Rating: 9.0 - I was seeing the field well and picked out two assists.
The first time in my career I've done that, or this...
Player of Game: Marcus Diamond, Witham (9.0)
Match Day #11 at Potters Bar (1-6-3) Another team that's gotten off to a rough start.
Spoiler Witham 5, Potters Bar 1
Summary: A goal crazy first half. A shame only two Witham supporters traveled to see the game.
Rating: 9.3 - I've scored my first goal for Witham!
I also got my fourth assist on the season by slipping through Daniel Akindayini for the first goal of the game.
Player of Game: Daniel Akindayini, Witham (9.4)
Match Day #12 vs. Cheshunt (1-6-3) Beating up on the bottom feeders never gets boring.
Spoiler Witham 5, Cheshunt 4.
Summary: Not sure what it is about Cheshunt, but nobody likes to play defense when Marcus Diamond plays them. Last year, Canvey Island beat them 7-3. Daniel Akindayini nets a hat trick in a 5-4 win this season and now leads the league with nine goals in 11 appearances.
Rating: 8.4 - I was picking out all the hockey assists — the pass that leads to the assist. Ten key passes in total is pretty impressive and a new personal best. My 22 key passes this season are tied for second-most in the league with Akindayini and we trail teammate Luke Mallett (24) for the top spot.
Player of Game: Daniel Akindayini, Witham (9.5)
League Standings (12/44 Games Played)
What a month. From 16th to 2nd in six games. When you average three goals a game and only drop two points in a month, this is what happens.
Five-game winning streak and counting. I'll be able to play in all three games next month, but I'll have an overnight flight to Japan following the match against AFC Hornchurch. That should be fun.

Spoiler - Each member gets 5.0 points to spread however they like over the 36 attributes listed above. One post per member.
- Stats work on a decimal system starting at 1.0.
- Stats are bumped up in FM when they hit that number, ex. 2.9 = 2 in-game, and 13.4 = 13 stat in-game.
- The decimal numbers will remain hidden.
- There is a threshold for each stat when more points are needed to increase that stat. It's start off on a 1-to-1 scale where 1 point equals 1 stat upgrade. However, the scales get exponentially further and further apart the closer that stat gets to the maximum of 20. The increasing scale will also remain a mystery and is different from the cycling progression scale.
-Comment below to provide stat upgrades.
Standout Performances: Marcus Diamond is make a name for himself as one of the best midfielders in the league after this month. Watch out Jake Forster-Caskey. With Diamond's first PoM award and two-assist game, he can learn a new player trait. Which one should it be?
(1) Runs with the ball often.
(2) Plays one-twos.
(3) Tries killer balls often.
(4) Shoots from distance.

Wow, Marcus hitting his stride at Witham, awesome Would love to see him doing any of those four considering his role in the midfield, but I'll go with 4) Shoots from Distance. And in doing so...

This is looking really good, and interesting with the football/cycling mix. Will be following from now on.
He should learn (4) shoots from distance and get +5 Long Shots.

Should try killer balls more often, to exploit his knack for assists. |

Amazing riding by Marcus in Britain despite holding back a bit after the injury.
+3 flat
Also really impressive with MoM, goal and couple of assists on the pitch! Witham surely did right to sign him
+3 off the ball
+2 flair
and (2) plays one-twos |

Try Killer Balls, sounds like with all the key passes he is already making this would suit his game fairly well and the stat boost I'm giving him should only help this out further.

Just to clear something up, stat upgrades are only good for the latest monthly summary I post. So, the recent cycling upgrades that are mentioned after I posted the Witham September summary won't be counted.

Ah, looks like I started the double-upgrades after your latest summaries. My apologies, with only a few hours between your posts, I thought that was how you wanted it done. |

Konichiwa from Japan. The team is rewarding me for having a solid first season with a trip abroad. Before I can learn more about Japan, which right now is basically Keisuke Honda is pretty good footballer, I have my final race of the year.
Race Day #32 at Japan Cup Everyone is sore this time of year, but the finish is within reach.
Spoiler
Summary: A survival of the fittest. Giulio Ciccone outlasts everyone for a solo win. 20 cyclists came in 43 seconds later fighting for second.
Result: 25th - I just got thrown off the back of the chase group in the final kilometers. Didn't have the stamina to keep up. I finished 2'13" down on Ciccone, but was the highest finisher on JLT Condor.
1 | Giulio Ciccone | Bardiani CSF | 4h30'28 | 2 | Krists Neilands | Israel Cycling Academy | + 43 | 3 | Odd Christian Eiking | Wanty - Groupe Gobert | s.t. | 4 | Edward Dunbar | Aqua Blue Sport | s.t. | 5 | Diego Rosa | Team Sky | s.t. |
Offseason: Marcus Diamond is taking this month off from training to rest and recovery. He will take his offseason training ride next month which will include a season recap. The month after that will be a preview for the 2019 season. Whichever member gets closest to correctly guessing what place Marcus finished in the CQ rankings this season will get double points for his offseason training ride.
