Spoiler @Hillis Thanks!
@Croatia Well, i would wait to see the rest of the division to say where can this team finish, but imo, the next rider being annouced earning a third of our total wage cap will be our dowfall in the fight for promotion. Next year with this core and Kudus going down on wages will be a year for the promotion assault
Transfers Update, Round 6 Celebrating his win in 2017 LBL U23
After days of long battles for him with other teams we finally reached a deal to adquire the rider who should be the leader of this team for many years to come. The 24 year-old Eritrean climber will have an stunning wage of 860k, but it's justified by the future potential that he has.
He has already gotten six wins during his career, though most of them at U23 level, but two are already at PCT level. Last year with Eritel he finished inside Top20 in the PCT Individual Rankings, so there's where we expect him to be again this season. He's the best U25 climber in the division so we can expect him to get several U25 jersey and with that, add a significant amount of points on top of his GC performances.
There are questions raised about how he could develop further in the future to even become a GT contender or a more rounded rider. He won't be able to get trained this year, that's for sure, but in 2019...

Damn what a brilliant team you're building. The approach reminds me a lot of Aker in PT with lots of different leaders for all kind of terrains. Love it!

@Viking Thanks! And yes, Kudus is a great signing. His big wage doesn't allow us to give him a proper support this year (he has Ndayisenga and Novak, but would have liked to give him an even better support) but he's still one of the best climbers of the division, and with the U25 points in play, he'll outscore all the similar climbers
@knockout I hope this strategy works, because the cobbler and the sprinter barely have any support
@jandal That escalated quickly Let's take the Isostar strategy for this season, trying to escape from relegation and then will see how far we can go
@Booker Thanks! I did my best after missing out on the biggest targets, as this is the result

Kudus is a great signing. His ACC put me off a little, but he should do well nevertheless.
Glad to see he won't get trained yet though! |

Spoiler @Jakstar
@Vien Yeah, his acc isn't bad not nothing spectacular too. I rather have a decent core of riders like Bystrom or Vanmarcke instead of making Kudus 82 in mountains or 77/78 in hills. I mean, that training wouldn't give me safety, Bystrom and Vanmarcke are supoused to do it
At this point of the season where the team is completed (with a couple of loan deals pending) we can announced which are the Goals for the 2018 season. Coming from a perfect season in 2017 in goals after focusing all of them in mountains and signing Rafa Valls, this year we decided to do the same... but changing of terrain and focusing in hills. It's ironic that we have end up with the worst leader of all terrain in the terrain we had all our goals, but it's how transfers have pan out
A PTHC one-day race where we expect a lot of great puncheurs fighting for the win. We can only hope for a Top10/15 of Bystrom, something that wouldn't be even close to reach our goal
A 7-day stage race around Pologne with several hilly stages will see Bystrom and his team trying to do the impossible and get away with the win here WIN CLASICA SAN SEBASTIAN
With a much harder route this year, the only option to get this goal done is that race is decided between a 10-15 riders group and Bystrom uses his great acceleration to sprint for the win
And the final race goal is the final race of the season in Japan. Again we would a miracle from Bystrom in order to get our goal accomplished Only time will say if this is an unrealistic goal, or if it's the only goal that we have a shot at achieving it. Our decisions in the transfers season have made close to do a 0/5 in the season after we did a 5/5 in goals

Very surprised with your goals. With riders like Tenorio available, I expected you to all-in on the mountains during the transfer window.
Hoping you can at least reach the team standings goal! |

Same as Vien - it's almost as if the transfer season didn't quite go to plan
With the scorers you've brought in, though, back-to-back promotions wouldn't be out of the question.

It's always interesting to see what teams without a proper leader in the new division decide to do with their goals. In your case you set all you goals in the same basket and failed. However, I'm a little bit surpised that you didnt use the OR goal to protect yourself a bit from failure to sign the "wrong" kind of leader

@Vien Why hide it now? I was aiming for a certain Kazakh rider
@Booker Yeah, it was like everything that go wrong went wrong, but at the end i managed to make some good deals and sign good FA. Despite other managers having talked about promotion chances too, i don't like to hype myself just yet. We'll see how the season starts, if the hilly depth behind Bystrom works and Roelandts and Vanmarcke can do great being "alone" in the team.
@knockout Last year it worked perfectly setting all goals in the same basket, so i thought "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" This will hurt us next year, but i still have confidence that Bystrom can do some magic in our goal races If he does, maybe he's the one benefiting of the bigger budget

You have built a great squad, Kudus is a really nice rider, and I believe Bystrøm can get some really nice surprise results

Spoiler @Heine Thanks for your optimism!
REPSOL - NETFLIX REFUSES INVITATION TO
VEENENDAAL-VEENENDAAL There were rumours around Repsol's HQ in the previous days, but the team as now made official that they won't be attending the Dutch flat classic in April 29th, despite being a race included in one of their HC bands. It wasn't an easy decision, but after being kinda forced to feature into a triple-header together with Philadelphia International Classic and Corsica International, the team decided that it wasn't worthy to send a squad to the Netherlands if that meant that some of the best riders in the team would be forced to miss out on better suited races due to the planning re-structuration it would mean going to the race.
Team Manager: We are deeply sorry for not being able to race Veenendaal-Veenendaal, but there are other circustances that doesn't allow us to go here. I hope that the organisers understand this and don't veto us for future years

@Eden I have the feeling that there's a lot of managers with that triple-clash
@Marcovdw It's not like i would stand a chance to do anything in the race. If so, i would have made some changes in the planning to be there
