Thanks for all the fun, discussion, rages, and stupid arguments about Levi Leipheimer. I like to think I've grown up a lot, though I probably haven't. Either way, happy this community has now been a part of like half my conscious life! Hoping to be around for many years to come.
Darn, was hoping you would be the next big member to hit the retirement road
Spoiler JK of course, barely any Americans left standing

I'll be away on holiday/chess tournament from tonight until, probably, monday the 6th, so if you need me, tough luck for you as I likely won't have the time to do it.

Dear daily community,
Just wanted to stop by and say that I'll take a break off daily for a couple of months. Will be in the US & Canada for 2 months (just landed), afterwards I'm planning to come back. Though I will significantly reduce the time I spend on our site daily. It's part if some sort of changes I need to get done to bring my academical life in the right direction, which can't see plenty of hours a day spent on pcm.daily. of course I'll further stay in supportive roles of stuff like ICL, statmaking and TCT. Just don't expect me to be involved in basically every game or contest on this site anymore
So, this in not a "goodbye", but rather a "see you later". Just other parts of life needing increased time commitment, which I already should've given before. No regrets though, especially thinking about the skype/internet mates and even real friends I gained through daily. And mg-managers: don't you dare think Mohoric will be available as an FA next season
Cheers guys! |

Life does come before Daily. That's why I've made sure to never have a life, so Daily can still come first.

Anybody here ever owned a Siberian Husky dog? I adopted a 2 year old that I picking up tomorrow and just wondered if anybody had any advice besides the usual "it needs exercise" rant.

It needs exercise.

Unfortunately after 505 days it was time for an avatar change. Brock Lesnar has lost his championship so Roman Reigns is now the new guy. If you know me outside of Daily you know I despise this man but I have to stick to tradition. Even worse, I was in Brooklyn this weekend and saw this in person

I know it's not what you want but it really does need a lot of exercise/activation. Exercise doesn't always have to be running it can be more search-orientated as well.
If it's your first dog I'd recommend finding a dog-owners course nearby. I assume that's a thing over there as well. Helps build the bond between you and the dog as well which is always important, but perhaps even more so when adopting a grown dog. At the same time you can get professional help to make sure you communicate well with the dog.
Allow it time/space to settle in the first few days. Be near it so it knows you're there but also allow it it's own space to settle in with a new home and family.
Adopting a grown dog is in many ways more complicated than adopting a puppy as it already has an idea on how things should be and it might require more work from you to earn your spot as pack leader. Depends on why it can't stay with its former home as well, important to take the background story into consideration.
