What are they supposed to do when G can counter every attack and they are two minutes behind. There are limits. Actual limits.

dumoulin was competive in both tour and giro

So Dumoulin did better than a doper???

Are you french?

This has nothing to do with being French or not.

He is not a doper. If you actually think that, then you never had to deal with Asthma yourself. Even the test is not even that good for it. People need to calm down a bit with that. All im up to.

And the "french" refrence. The majority of people booing him is allegedly french? Either way, i strongly belive him not be a doper. So let's not ruin a living legends legacy over that.

Lol, I had asthma when I was a child and never had to take 30 puffs of Ventolin.

Thomas' Tour was just dominant. He could have been 5 minutes ahead if he had wanted. He never seemed to struggle, followed every attack he wanted to follow easily.

Well, i have it on top of some stupid pollen allergy aswell. And i race aswell, i have since i was 14. During a national road series when i was 16, i collapsed because i didn't have my inhaler with me that weekend. And, it doesent make me 100% during that time, im like 90/95% of what my body is normaly capabal of.

So i naturaly sympathize with him, which is most likely why i don't belive he is a doper.
But i do however, respect your view. Even though i don't agree. So keep on booing.

I am not saying anyone could beat him as it has been, however they're not playing in their own favor actually pulling him along when the 4th place attack, or when Quintana attacked yesterday. It would be more logical if he had to do the pulling, as he has more to lose. There's no point in isolating the man if you just pull him with you.

Without the fight for placements it would have been a very boring race, because the leadership was never in discussion.

Well if Thomas had to pull instead of Dumoulin, just 50% of the time, it could have looked a tad different now. But I understand Dumoulin, a podium is a big thing in the Tour, hopefully next year he will not settle for anything but victory.

For Dumoulin it makes all the sense in the world to chase after Roglic when he is just a few seconds ahead of him. Thomas has far less incentivze to chase after Roglic with 2 minutes cushion.

Look I am the first to hold that Contador flag up and riders should race to win but there is a time when to pick your battles. Roglic and Dumoulin tried it many times this Tour to beat Thomas. None worked. Unlike Bardet and Uran, they tried and they failed, nothing wrong with that.

The only thing Dumoulin could have done is to play Froome card in hopes that he chases after Roglic, but really what's the point bc Thomas would have been untroubled and you might have gained a few seconds on froome in the process but lost more to roglic. If you want things done, it's better to do them yourself, and Dumoulin has had his fair share of worries and grief when it came to looking for cooperation in the past two Giros...

Now it's better to be 2nd than 3rd, especially when the sky charade gets lifted and major bans are incoming.

In the end, it really doesnt matter since both are likely to beat Froome by a nautical mile anyway tomorrow and today Thomas had it all sealed up. The only thing that could have unlodge him would have been the typical thomas idiocy of crashing in a corner.

What do you think Thomas would do? Sit up and call it a day? Then Roglic would be leading the GC now, he attacked on the climb, but Dumoulin kept the leash short. On the last mountain stage he was pulled by them as well, just to beat them in the sprint for bonus seconds.

As I said initially I fully understand their motives, that's why a Tour with no podium is an interesting thought - not talking about how realistic it is, as there obviously are downsides too. Had they let him do some work when they finally isolated him, I think they could have gained more seconds on him. They should have allied against Sky, instead of with Sky against each other.

2nd place is much better than hope Thomas will get tired following Roglic

I really don't think they played their cards right, they lacked a bit of courage. You need to risk it all to win it all, it is obviously easier said than done when it's possible to settle for being the first and second loser.

My point is I think Thomas had more to lose, they should have taken advantage of that. I guess that comes with experience, a thing Roglic and Dumoulin will gain a lot more of in the coming years.

Not just today mind you, but on other stages as well. Of course he's the least tired, he can sit comfortably until he's home safe and can beat them all on his punch.

All cyclists have a contract for a team that don't prefer to risk a second place in TdF for personal ambition, and btw Dumoulin imo evalued the situation was Thomas too strong and was better to defend 2nd place, I would have done the same

Dumoulin will have to win tomorrows time trial to make things interesting !!

How can you say Thomas was too strong? Thomas would have to pull them, there was no one left to do it for him, especially the last two stages. If he was so strong he could have pulled the whole way, as he would have if no one did it for him, he had to, they failed to take advantage of that. It is really obvious to me, he wouldn't risk not winning the Tour - obviously.

Thomas has a quite good gap over Roglic, it was confident with him over some seconds, Tom wasn't, so he had to pull. What's the point for Dumoulin to let Roglic get minutes on Thomas? He will certainly lose the 2nd and nor get more chance to win it

Thomas was too strong for what Tom could do, he was never close to drop him
