[PCT '18] Philips | NC Update
AbhishekLFC
@Booker: Our focus regions are big enough hopefully Pfft

@trekbmc: Maybe I'll make it just 'Continental' if I ever promote to the PT Wink

Those are some spectacular teams you've compared us with and that's not the kind of pressure we'd like to take at the moment. For now, the objective is PCT survival. Mid table finish will do us fine this season.

Thanks for the comment on the jersey Smile

@jandal: Without losing Kreder, I'd have been ecstatic with the renewals. This is still fine and we hope to build from this. Going to be a an important transfer window for us I guess.

Transfer Update Part 1
"The Future in Motion"
The team management and scouts have been hard at work over the past few days in scouring the lands in search of the perfect riders to bring in to the team for our first season in the PCT. We are delighted to announce that we can now disclose the first of our signings for this season.

Lahcen Saber | Sprint Leader/Cobbles
Age: 28 | Wage: 400,000
i.imgur.com/kDzjNWW.jpg

The first rider we signed in this transfer window is the Moroccan sprinter quite adept at handling the cobbles. He joins us from Bennelong - Mitchelton, where he spent a large part of his cycling formative years, for a fee of 800,000. We expect big things from Saber and believe we can provide him the type of calendar that will perfectly suit his strengths.

Rui Costa | Puncher Leader
Age: 32 | Wage: 250,000
i.imgur.com/3ObxrmU.jpg

Next up, we wrapped up the deal for legendary Portuguese puncheur Rui Costa. With hills set to be a big part of our schedule, he could perhaps become the most important cog in our system. His exploits in the ManGame need no introduction and we felt we got an excellent deal from recently promoted Berg Cycles, which was 700,000.

Cristoph Mai | Domestique
Age: 30 | Wage: 50,000

Our next rider comes to us as part of a rider swap with out fellow German team T-Mobile, with Enrico Battaglin heading the other way. Mai is expected to be a domestique in the mountains, and his wage and strength up the climb convinced us to bring him in.

David Per | Future Prospect | Loaned In
Age: 23 | Wage: 200,000 | Compensation: 350,000
i.imgur.com/1tFnCKf.jpg

David Per is a rider we are very familiar with as he rode in our colours last season. His performances as a neo-pro stunned the cycling world as he turned out to be the Breakout Star of the Year, scoring a whopping 119 points in the Continental Division. This year, he is back riding with us again as we continue our excellent partnership and friendship with now completely Slovenian outfit, Isostar Slovenija. We hope for more of the same from him basically!

The management is quite satisfied with the deals we have made so far. The job however, is far from over in this competitive window, as we look to maximise the potential of our resources. Expect more announcements soon...

Saber is a great signing for this fee Wink the PCT should feature some good races for his skills and I will follow his season with big interest. I'm happy with the team he joined, even though I had hoped for some more managers to push the price Pfft

Aquarius97
Costa is a perfect rider for this year's calendar. In the hardest hilly TT stage races he shouldn't have a real rival, unless Coppel becomes a superman in the hills. My guess? Costa is bringing you the safety by himself.

And Saber should be a very dangerous man if you can find the races that could suit him perfectly. If not, i'm afraid he could end up in the middle of both cobbles and sprint races without getting big results in any of them Smile

Hill-TT combo is always a nice thing, and I like riders with cobbles-sprint combo aswell but he does not?

Nice signings anyway

@tsmoha: I hope I can take good care of him! And I'm really glad the latter did not happen Pfft

@Aquarius: Hills were always going to be a big part of our calendar, and Costa seemed the perfect fit. Saber will need careful planning I agree. Need to find the perfect fitting calendar for him.

@Viking: Thanks and I like those combos as well, hence the early deals for them in particular once they became available.

I am amazingly jealous of every single one of those Grin Did I hear someone say another team is joining the back to back squad? Pfft Congrats, hope to see more where they all came from!

@jandal: I said it last season, and I'll say it again, together let's take the division by storm Grin

For now, this was needed not to go down. Still some way to go to challenge anywhere close to the top.

I'm lagging behind you, but hell yeah let's do it Grin

Transfer Update Part 2
"The Future in Motion"
Following on from our first set of unveilings yesterday, we are now proud to present the next set of riders that will ride in our colours in the coming season.

Jan Dieteren | Puncheur
Age: 25 | Wage: 65,000
i.imgur.com/EWzG6fN.jpg

Our first signing from Free Agency is a young German puncheur with a bright future. Jan Dieteren joins us, having ridden for the (now renamed T-Mobile) Pro Tour team Wiesenhof-Andritz last season. His role will be to support Rui Costa in races where they start together. He will also get opportunities to lead the team in lower division hilly races. He has an affinity to launch an attack very often, so we could get used to seeing him out ahead of the peloton on a number of occasions. His low wage and age make him the perfect capture with a lot of possibilities of his future development open to us.

Lukas Meiler | Talent | Loaned Out
Age: 23 | | Pot: 4 | Wage: 50,000
i.imgur.com/0W5khwX.jpg

Young German classics specialist Lukas Meiler joins us from the Free Agency at minimum wage. He will spend the season on loan at Campari - Super Dry to gain valuable experience in the Continental Division. He is expected to become a vital part of our classics setup in the future.

Patrick Muller | Future Prospect | Loaned In
Age: 22 | Wage: 25,000 | Compensation: 285,000
i.imgur.com/Tu6vgnC.jpg

Patrick Muller was a rider we had scouted extensively. However, it was not possible for us to sign him because of wage commitments elsewhere, and he signed with recently promoted to Pro Tour, Team UBS, who are based out of his home country. When the opportunity to take him on loan came up, we jumped at the option to do so and he will ride in our colours this season. We have had a good history with loan-ins and a terrific history with Swiss riders so far and hope that Muller is another addition to the same.

The new signings look like they fit in very well with your previous team. Costa and Saber are both nicely versatile and Meiler is awesome Grin

I particularly like Meiler too, more now than when I short-listed him! The idea was to build on what we had rather than a complete overhaul. Seems to be working so far.

Big fan of Meiller, and Dieteren is a nice domestique/attacker, even if his ACC is lacking for the latter.

Transfer Update Part 3
"The Future in Motion"
Having secured our leader for the hills and the sprints early on in the transfer window, we have now secured a leader for the mountains and a super domestique to help him reach his goals. Our team is now taking it's final steps towards completion. Here's who we got.

Sergio Henao | Climber Leader
Age: 31 | Wage: 730,000
i.imgur.com/zAL9eqq.jpg

Our biggest signing of the transfer window and our history. Sergio Henao will be our leader in the mountains, as he joins us from Free Agency, having been a part of the now defunct Ferrero - Samruk team last season. After our difficulties in getting the Keizer deal across the line, and finally losing him at the last minute, we knew we had to go big to get a star climbing into the team. We offered Henao a whopping 730,000 wage and he accepted. A lot of the team's point scoring responsibilities will be on his shoulders.

Jarlinson Pantano | Climber/Domestique
Age: 30 | Wage: 75,000
i.imgur.com/ZWCDE2W.jpg

Joining our Colombian climber extraordinaire will be a super-domestique also from the same country. Jarlinson Pantano will be tasked with the dual role of becoming the super-domestique for Henao in some races, while he leads the team on certain other occasions. He joins us from the Minions for a sum of 300,000.

NOT AVAILABLE

Our third and final loan-in of the season will become the first ever Asian rider to ride in our colours. Associate sponsors Unilever have for the second year in a row financed a loan deal for one rider outside of our focus region, and this year Jung is that rider. He comes in from our friends at Campari - Super Dry, who we've talked to to and conducted business with quite a bit this transfer season. We believe Jung will be useful in hilly races.

He has better hill stat then I guy who came 8th respective 7th in two GTs last season Pfft

@Vien: Obviously I don't intend to plan him to meet Lutsenko in the hills very often Pfft

@viking: Makes me want to get a wildcard! But what use will that be without scoring points? But hey, a GT is a GT right? Wink

GT is always nice, but it should be shaken not stirred. Cool

Henao even has better mountains stat then this guy I´m talking about but he lacks a few TT stats.
