At first, I need to feed a greedy MGUCI, then we can talk about some bonus for John if something left

Iberia - Team Degenkolb 2018 squad
Riders in:
Adam Blythe <---- Team Puma - SAP
Ramon Domene <---- Desigual
Roy Jans <---- Isostar Slovenija
Arnold Jeannesson <---- Team Cerveceria Costa Rica
Nurbolat Kulimbetov <---- Indosat Ooredoo - ANZ (on loan)
Artem Nych <---- Free Agent
Geert Van der Sanden <---- Aegon - Lavazza
Riders out:
George Atkins ----> cycleYorkshire
Steven Burke ----> GCN ProTeam
Francisco Javier Echarri ----> Free Agent
Thomas Faiers ----> Isostar Slovenija
Roger Kluge ----> Team Cerveceria Costa Rica
Nikolas Maes ----> Indosat Ooredoo - ANZ
Justo Tenorio ----> Desigual
Rick Zabel ----> Desigual
After disappointing season 2017 which led to relegation, Iberia - Team Degenkolb have decided for massive rebuild. As a result, 2018 squad is significantly weaker, but ready to fight for TOP 10 in division. Team is basically build around three indisputable leaders, John Degenkolb for sprints, Adam Blythe for cobbles and Ion Izagirre into hilly races (ideally with some TT included). There are no more real pointscorers in the team, which means only around 110/175 race days is covered. Time will tell if we can expect successful season or not.
PCT Team Standings | TOP 5 | SAA Tour d'Afrique | TOP 5 | Barbados Cycling Festival | Win | Tour of Ukraine | Win | Baltic Chain Tour | Win |
In theory, if all three leaders perform well through season, then TOP 5 PCT Team Standings goal would be achievable. In reality, we didn´t perform well in very first sprint test already. It may be very long and tough season...
Although PTHC race, TOP 5 SAA Tour d'Afrique goal looks like the easiest one to achieve. Hopefully our sprint train won´t fail in South Africa.
Barbados Cycling Festival is the next goal set for John Degenkolb. We need to take overall win here, nothin less and nothing more and achieve our Win goal. Oh wait, there are bunch of capable sprinters with the same thoughts in PCT this season.
Next Win Tour of Ukraine goal set for Ion Izagirre is very ambitious, but with Jerome Coppel coming this year, also without any chance to achieve. TOP 3 sounds great and could be also doable though.
Last goal, Win Baltic Chain Tour is the same story like our Barbados win goal, everything can happen here.
Last but not least, I´m happy new season has already started!!!

Big payheck for Degenkolb, but obviously he needs to stay.

He demanded almost 1M in R1
Might be overpaid, but finished 3rd in PCT Standings after Pluchkin (990k) and Lutsenko (FA, over 1M (??) last season). He deserves nice wage, I guess
Small correction in riders availability:
| Pierre Latour | 26 | € 180 000 | loan to PT |

Latour is a very interesting loan option depending on the deal details, but I would assume that goes for 90% of PT teams considering his stats.
However, Herklotz would quite enjoy his company in whatever GT he races, and theoretically he'd even be eligible to ride all three GTs next season for maximum profit (and maximum excitement for you).
It's sad to see Blythe didn't quite live up to his price tag and does not seem to fit into your plans anymore, I fully expected that deal to be beneficial to both of us last year.
Also, I absolutely love the typo "payheck" Atlantius, I might borrow that one at some point.

Regarding to Latour, I prefer paying (most of) his wage myselfright now. Then highest €€€ compensation would win. However, it can slightly change when transfer madness begins. Hopefully not much though
Anyway,I like the idea to watch him riding in all GTs, moreover in jersey of reigning PT champion side by side of future MG legend!
Despite of several decent result, Adam Blythe was the biggest disappointment for me last season. As my team won´t target on cobble classics in upcoming season, he must go. With his indesputable talent, he´ll join to right team to shine again, I hope...

Interesting stuff regarding Latour - althought he would prefer joining us on a permanent deal you know...
