Is it just me or does the Tour collect the most crashes in the final kilometers of every Grand Tour? Nevertheless, it's still curious to anticipate the winner of the stage, and in this case it was open until the final meters, Colbrelli with a super acceleration there. Sagan secures a good advantage for green today.
Also the biggest scene and the highest number of pre-stage favorites.

So Thomas in yellow tommorow most likely and it will be interesting to see how far likes of Sagan, Alaphilippe, Gilbert will be so they can take it back in next stages, but ofc Thomas should be good in both Mur de Bretagne and cobbled stage too.

No gaps? Good, at least Gaviria can fight to get back in yellow again in flat stages after TTT

Would have been awesome by Valverde though to come 6th and gain some more time in the three-head battle for leadership within Movistar.

Trek and Degenkolb have lodged an appeal against Sagan for almost riding him into the barrier when Sagan followed Demare's wheel to the right side of the street.

You are probably right, i am inclined to believe Thomas will hold the jersey until mountains. Ofc your hope is Quickstep rider steals it.

QuickStep have done pretty good in TTT's this season, will they try to keep Gaviria on the train to make a charge for yellow on stage 4?
Or will they just powerhouse forward and accept that they will "just" have Gilbert, Alaphilippe, Jungels, Lampaert and perhaps Terpstra within a shot at yellow on stage 5-6?

Eyeing they have Jungels, who is on a fight for GC I doubt they'll sacrifice seconds if I can call it that.. Plus with Mur and Cobbles, Alaphillipe and Gilbert still have a legitimate shot of going for yellow (seeing Gilbert bonificated today for a reason)

Terpstra is already 4 minutes down.

Why was Kittel in green when Sagan was 2nd place in the points?
If youre a national champion or world champion you get to choose whether you want to wear your jersey or green/white whatever
Right, with the exception of the yellow jersey that can't be skipped for obvious reason.
But regarding the decision of Sagan to not wear the green jersey, I suppose these things:
- He was not the leader of sprints points so he doesn't want to wear it.
- He wanted to be less recoginizible for the 2nd stage with the WC jersey (white and rainbow) instead of full light green jersey
- He is sagan so he is the Zlatan of cycling, only god can understand his decision...
What else ? |
