No only the draft is left to sign riders. Round 10 is still a round like any other. |

I've become a little lost with Scouting... I thought we were able to sign scouted riders after Round's 8, 9 and 10 before the Draft would finish scouting off. But now we've just got after Round 8 and 9 and then the Draft? And for the Draft what exactly are we Drafting, and is that still limited to our previous scouting knowledge?

Yeah, it seems odd to me, too, that we were only able to hire riders two times, after round 7 and after round 9, I would have thought that we should be able to make offers after every round, including the last round. Maybe Bikex feared that the more signing opportunities there are, the less competition there'd be and more and more great talents get signed for the minimum wage.
We'll see what the draft will be like, here's what Bikex wrote previously:
After the 10th round closes there will be the U21 WWorld Championships with the regens and I'll share a table with all talents still available (not with their exact stats). A draft will conclude the Scouting. Teams will be ordered in the order of the turned around rankings.
Btw in the draft, you do not draft the talents, but only the signing rights. So you get to see the stats of riders before deciding to sign them. Feel like I should make this clear.
So I guess if after 10 rounds you've got a rider on your scouting sheet you like you'll choose him, already knowing a lot/everything about him (AVG, potential). Only if you don't have anybody (like me) you'll choose somebody who did well in the U21 WC races. In either case, you'll see the full stats and can then decide to hire him or not.

So i could ignore the Draft itself and then still get a chance to sign any riders leftover? (because i've scouted 100% of the Caribbean so i have no interest in getting more specific stats, but i still want to sign one or two guys)
Feels like Round 10 of Scouting becomes rather meaningless as any scouting done there can't lead into signing, but leads into another bit of scouting instead.
Guess i've just missed a post or two that slimmed down the signing opportunities as i was expecting another chance to sign talents before the Draft. And i've misunderstood the Draft, thinking it was a way to get guys and not just get info of someone.

You can sign them in the draft. It's just that you don't have to sign the riders you draft, you get to see their full stats before making the decision. If you already decided who you still want to sign you can do that via the draft. |

Plural? So how many draft rounds will there be? Or just one round but everybody can pick 5 riders?

Tbh I haven't really thought this through yet
But not more than 1 rider per round. If you have planned on still signing several riders, I'm sure that there will be a way to do that |

Yeah it seems a bit weird you "draft" to see stats and then draft again to sign someone. I'd just remove the first part, drafting rights to sign and see stats, because after 10 Rounds or scouting and Packs you should have found enough talents.
And if you just put out a list of remaining talents, what was the point in me having a Scout (especially for Round 10) when i can get the same information for free later? I'd be better off just saving up to buy more Packs knowing i'll get decent Pot riders in them.
I'd just put out the most basic information on remaining talents: Name, Nationality, Age. Then we'll have to base our drafting on previous Scouting and on the U21 races. No extra steps to find stats, it should all be based off what we found out in 10 Rounds. Which leaves us Drafting talents at minimum wage, assuming the best have already gone.

It has always been possible to sign the talents once the scouting period is over with their full stats revealed. The scouting system is always here to provide an entertaining way to scout the best talents with reduced competition.
That said, can I bid also on a rider w/o knowing the exact stats against ppl who want to draft someone?

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the draft? No, the draft rider should be uncompeted, I think, unless the team decides not to sign him and then he's back in the pool.

Which is also why i think there should be a normal signing after Round 10, because i can still find new riders in Round 10 but may not be able to sign them.

I like the system. It rewards people who scouted because they get to see the full stats of riders who they already have an interest in before deciding if they should sign them or not. In TMM's situation, it's a bit different because you have focussed on a smaller cycling region and likely have a lot of information already on a small talent pool, so this extra opportunity for researching the talent you've found won't be quite as useful as to the rest of us who have less information on more riders (e.g. I have 84 riders, only 19 of whom I know their exact potential and average).
Re:Shonak's question, the way how I understand the system is that once a rider is drafted, that team gets the option to sign the rider or allow them to go into free agency. If they choose not to sign the rider, THEN you will have the chance to bid for them.

I assume the 1/2/3 means that the stat of that rider is in the bottom/middle/top third of that stat of all those talents. Still a bit of a gamble then. If it's the average of all riders, MON for sprinters, COB for climbers, etc, then I guess a 64 might be enough for the top third in some stats, maybe even less.

Nope. Its a fixed scale. So 3 is 65 or above and 2 is between 59 and 64 or sth like that

You can already send in if you want. Will make a post explaining the draft better soon.
Sorry for the kind of break the game is currently on. |

I'll wait with any moves until the draft post will appear.
Also I think there is no need to be sorry for the break. Last season was damn fast so with all the Man-Game stuff going on now it will be even better if the off season be a bit slower than usual. |
