I think the new fitness planning with break, easy, normal and hard training should be changed. For example if your objectives is Tour de France, you need to change the training from break to normal/hard under the Tour, so they not are tired

I also think you should be able to choose Giro at your first objectives, because is to difficult to have the fitness peak in week one of the Giro.

Are you agree or are you happy with the objectives and fitness planning like it is?

I'm trying some different ways to plan the season.
It is hard to find the right planning, but I think that if you get it you can perform better than older versions (talking about pcm14 my last before this)
Probably when you find the way is good, but until that you can feel this bad

Cyanide keeps changing the planning system and it usually feels worse than before. Personally, I'd still prefer the old system (PCM 09, for example) without objectives, just training plans create and can save and load at will.

But the PCM 17 system, while inflexible, is at least fairly speedy if you don't try to change too much. Yes, Giro/Tour and Tour/Vuelta doubles are nearly impossible to get right, so I have a group riding Giro and Vuelta and another group peaking for Catalunya/Basque Country and Tour. I can live with that, the peaks are never perfect, but maybe that would make the game too easy.

A huge mistake in my opinion is the decision to calculate fatigue accumulation and especially reduction on a weekly basis and not a daily basis.

One ill-timed race day in a training break week can ruin your entire season. It's entirely unrealistic that one race day in a week off results in a fatigue change of something like +3 instead of -15 without it.
So I absolutely disagree that it's speedy to set up if you don't want to be unpleasantly surprised about daily form from May on.

Sure, that's true. I was only talking about the initial planning on the 1st of January. During the season I keep checking for breaks and actually make handwritten notes so I don't let somebody race who's on a break.

With my old PCM 14 system the initial planning takes forever (since I can't load training plans like I used to, have to set the same plan over and over again individually) but at least then it's done and you don't have to check anything during the season. Now the initial planning is a lot faster but like you said, you have to check and adjust again and again during the season.

yes, this is the main problem of the system, but beyond that I found it better than past years, unfortunately this is a huge problem

Yes, it takes also to much time that you need to focus a lot of the fitness of every rider and change training for every rider, so they not become tired
