It has ZCTS, so you can convert the stage to PCM15. I remember that i converted it for PCM17

I think those ZCTS are just upwards compatible, so I won't be able to convert the route to PCM15. Also tbh I would prefer a mountainous rated course.

Something like Andorra, Romandie or Rhone Alps. |

Paarl, Sancy and Twang look best suited for a nice mountaineous WC race from the WC routes in PCM2015. Personaly I'd prefer Twang.

Just did a little test run of Tewang. Well that was fun. Nice selective route but no attacks.

Personally speaking, a course picked only for the best 6 climbers seems too exclusive for me. From Shonak's selection I'd prefer the other two.

I agree. I dont care much about the WC but i think it shouldnt be too specific towards a certain type of rider. If we go with a mountainous one I would suggest sth along the lines of Course d'Annecy with a downhill and long flat parts after the final climb.

I agree it shouldn't be mountains only, that would make it boring. Aside from knockout's suggestions, wasn't there a cobbles mountain somewhere as well?

I'd prefer a race that offers up to some nice thrilling action. If it's selective, then good. If it's a mix of hard hills-mountain, then it sounds okay to me since a few more riders will have a shot then, eg. Kwiatek, Bananito, Martin, Moser.
Best route would probably be a flat finish then, but those offering them are all hilly-rated.
Don't see what's wrong with mountains/hard hills only though since the winner is still out of a pool of +/- 10 top climbers. How many people have a shot in a WC cobbles, hill or sprint race? It's always around ten.
Please no cobbles mountain.

I also had something similar to Course de Lac d'Annecy in mind when suggesting we should have a mountainous WC.
A flat finish makes the race much more open. Based on the Volcan de Agua zcts, we could use something like this:

I like Bikex's profile, it has hilly and flat sections, not just mountains and descents. Maybe it could still feature a mountaintop finish, I'm not totally against that, but it looks exciting as it is.
As always thanks for the update and videos. Poels and Fuglsang looking much better than on stage 3. Really good work from Poels on stage 4, I was hoping Fuglsang ends in the top 5 and Poels the top 10, but maybe it'll be the other way round. Also, first stage win for Fuglsang this season, he really wanted it on that stage - might have been good he was blocked in at first or he would have run out of energy before the finish line.

Caruso kind of lucked into the lead again, strange that Nerz just attacked away from Costa there. Anyway, he surely remains the top favourite with that long time trial still to come, but second looks to be in reach for Caruso.

I was expecting something slightly better from my team in those October classics. Top 10 in Milano - Torino is nice, but was hoping for something better. Also, what happened to Ulissi in Giro dell'Emilia? Did he crash or what?

Ah yes I think he did. Sorry for not including that in the report, I was so furious when Lutsenko and Ratto dropped back to support Villella that I probably have missed it.
I think Ulissi was also listed in the same crash as victim, but later when I went through the group to see what other big riders were hit, he wasn't there, so I forgot about it. |
