Except for the 10th place at AGR, dude has zero results in the past few years. How should anyone know he can drill it up Mur like that.
Yeah, but Wellens in hot weather wasn't going to do it either. Surprised he still got 7th actually.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Who knows what's possible now at Liege for him. Lotto Soudal have many options, that could make the race interesting.

Just came here to remind you all, Roman Kreuziger finished 2nd at Amstel and 4th today. Curious what he has left for L-B-L.
Contract year, I suppose.

Well, contract year indeed, but it is not like Kreuziger suddenly dropped from the sky and started getting results in tough classics. He is former AGR winner, with two other top5s there, he also has 4 top7 finishes in LBL and this was his second top10 finish in FW, with two other 11th placements. Also twoSan Sebastian podiums. With these results, he is actually typical top10 and sometimes top5 guy in toughest hilly classics, so i dont understand why is anyone shocked by his 4th place at FW and 2nd in Amstel, he will probably get another top5 in LBL, wait for it. He is more of a one day races guy now instead of GT one, that is sometimes the case with early bloomers.
Anyway, chapeau Alaphilippe, finally Valverde was beaten...king is dead, long live the king of uphill sprint. Nice racing in last 20kms today, one of the least boring editions i have seen.

Btw. what happend with Teuns, one of the bigger favourites? 30th as best BMC rider...that is very bad, as is whole season so far for this rich team, with only Dennis, TTT and GVA bringing decent but not awesome results of past years.

Teuns himself can't even explain his result, he said it might have been the heat, bad positioning, difficulties recovering his legs... |

In the race he just swerved wider than he should have done on a bend on the Mur. I thought it was just bad handling or lack of concentration.
Dan Martin terrible day and I think the rider to fear will be Matthews at the LBL.

Teuns simply stopped riding at half mur, probably out of legs

That would seem logical. I was also wondering why Valverde allowed Alaphilippe so much of an adavantage even before the sprint started. I guess his legs were going also. Alaphilippe clearly the strongest and best today but Vanendert not too far behind.

I'll be at the library but keep a live ticker open, who knows. Perhaps there will be action before Ans.
Bala to pledge the 5th.

Paul Sherwen assures me it'll be Nibali on Roche-aux-Faucons.
Then again, he said it's gonna be Nibali on the next climb for about 80 kilometres now.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."
