Finally Contador on the top step, even if not on the top step for my team it still feels a bit like a victory Just a shame it needed the weakest TdF field in all 5 seasons for him to finally accomplish this feat.
Herrada securing the podium is great & a nice achievement after the massive training investment. On to Vuelta. Puh dogded a bullet there. Too bad about Suntory but their GT is still spectacular really, and imo better than what they showed in Giro. Thumbs up.
Congratz to Statoil, nice surprise to see them take the green jersey especially since their three sprinters wern't always sure now who is the boss and who is the leadout.
Pologne first three stages posted btw.

I was not going to accept the congratulations before the final stage because i was scared that something might still happen and while Contador wasnt involved in anything the stage still had some serious impact on the GC and i feel super sorry for DaveTwoBob
So thanks everybody who congratulated me now or already after the final mountain stage: Thanks!
Contador looked very strong with the exception of stage 19 despite being left alone quite early. His support didnt look strong enough which might have been at least partly due to my decision to focus quite a bit on the early TTT. It was probably a big mistake to keep guys like Locatelli at home and I'm super glad it didnt cost us.
Also good to see Froome still ending up on the podium after this crashopoly in the first week. His team looked very strong and this could have been super difficult for Contador to beat him without those crashes.
Nice to see Herrada complete the podium. Great to see Contador's heir immediately stepping up and it would be cool to get some more mentor-heir moments either in the Vuelta or next season...
Congrats also to jdog for the mountain jersey! Cool to see you keeping that small advantage over Contador
Uran is one of the disappointments of the race but the rankings still look great for Argos and they will be a tough opponent for the rest of the season.
I certainly was never a climbers team and the list of my previous GT results is very interesting:
28 | 2014 | GT | Giro d'Italia | Total | Leopold König | 55 | 2014 | GT | Tour de France | Total | Stefan Schumacher | 8 | 2014 | GT | Vuelta a España | Total | Sergio Henao | 84 | 2015 | GT | Giro d'Italia | Total | Lukas Pöstlberger | 41 | 2015 | GT | Tour de France | Total | Peter Sagan | 46 | 2015 | GT | Vuelta a España | Total | Marcus Burghardt | 44 | 2016 | GT | Giro d'Italia | Total | Andriy Grivko | 50 | 2016 | GT | Tour de France | Total | Paul Voss | 77 | 2016 | GT | Vuelta a España | Total | Marcel Kittel | 58 | 2017 | GT | Giro d'Italia | Total | Marcel Kittel | 27 | 2017 | GT | Tour de France | Total | Marc Geyer | 6 | 2017 | GT | Vuelta a España | Total | Carlos Betancur | 54 | 2018 | GT | Giro d'Italia | Total | Stefano Locatelli |
So many interesting fun facts to take from this:
- 2 Top 25 results in 13 starts must be the weakest GT records by any team in any story game
- Not a single top 5 result in 13 starts is telling as well
- 12 different top finishers are a clear sign that we never had a consistent GC threat previously
- that list includes more sprint leaders than climbers with Kittel, Sagan and Luigi's dream WT sprint leader Lukas Pöstlberger
- Marcel Kittel is the only one who was twice our best GC finisher in a GT.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Fantastic performance by my fellow CT teams, winning the green (Statoil) and polkadot (WWE) jerseys as well as four stages. Well done! Also congrats to the podium members, in a class of their own.

Why does Demare get the overall win in World Ports? If the time is tied, victories is the next part, isn't it?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

No, it's countback. Demare was 2nd and 3rd, total 5, Van Poppel, 1st and 5th, total 6. Demare wins.
About the team rankings, for stage races when teams have the same time, it's broken. It doesn't show the real classification. In MG, in those cases we calculated ourselves, obviously not trusting what the game says

Wow three riders in the same time.

I also do that, usually when going through the results for the rankings updates. Have corrected the Teams Classification for World Ports Classic. Allianz - BMW is the winner. |

Wow, good race start in Poland? It can't be. Komisarek with a great win. Finally may I say. Nice to see Kott in the breakaway, also Ulissi still didn't lose any time. That's surprising
World Ports Classic... I'll remain silent.
Thanks for the reports! |

Congrats to knockout on winning Le Tour, Contador a very deserved winner here. Would've loved to win it with Froome but crashing is a part of the race and apparently Froome was a star at that. Still far from a bad tour for us. 2nd in the GC after all, yellow for a few days, 2nd in U25 and teams, top 5 in points and KoM, 4 stage wins and obviously being the best scoring team out of the race.

Boom, Sagan and Geyer still looking solid although i'm disappointed by Sagans efforts so far.
World Ports was below expectations but that is what i get for only sending Caleb.

Thanks Shonak, so many results and a nice video, too. Excellent effort by Valgren in Poland so far, also nice to finally see an Aviva rider in the break of the day again, Minguez collected lots of KoM points, too. Only Schorn the sheep seems to have ended his season prematurely.

Ulissi still really well placed. Also our other riders riding really decently. 2nd place, and 3rd in GC so far. At least I need to hope he will not crash in upcoming stages. Team is also 2nd in TC, that's also nice!
Thanks Shonak! |
