I know it's hard to support dominators but I loved that effort from Quickstep, great effort from all and awesome ride from Terpstra. Special camraderie and hug at the end - I do think Gilbert deserved a kiss more than Nikki's wife Well done to Phil to mop up third.
Pedersen is a hero, just amazing

I'll guess we'll never know, did Gilbert show Laporte kindness or did Pedersen show Laporte strength? A bit of both probably, both riders are seriously awesome.

Terpsta was awesome really and these Quickstep tactics are unbeatable, like almost every classic race this year, it becomes boring a bit. Pedersen a rider of the day for me, very strong ride, congrats to both and Phil just doing it even better for Quickstep.

Although it was a well deserved win for Terpstra it's always hard to watch one of the least likeable riders in the peleton winning. |

Good race but could have used more fire. Great performances by the three guys on the podium. Terpstra is surely in-form right now and peaking perfectly. Even in the end when Sagan accelerated, he didn't gain any time on Niki. Gilbert playing it greatl. Just Stybar seems to be in great form but gets little results for himself. Pedersen perhaps new captain now that Stuvyen and Degenkolb are missing in action Other riders were a bit all too hesistant, waiting too long, not going strong enough, giving up effectively et cetera. Guess the chasing bunch was a too big.. GVA tried at the Boonenberg but except for some chasing alongside Tiejs was probably fairly spent afterwards. Kudos to Nibali for trying but I guess Terpstra's power was too much to hold onto.
