That makes me feel a bit better after Sunday
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

One of the greatest upsets IMO and this shows that anything can happen.
Today the matches seem to be straightforward, but what Roma vs. Barca showed us means that the advantage Real and Bayern have could mean NOTHING.
Especially for Bayern. While they've won their encounter with Sevilla in Spain and Allianz Arena seems as inpenetrable fortress we need to look after two things: 1. We saw what happen with Manchester United at Old Trafford and 2. For the past 4 seasons Bayern is eliminated by a La Liga team (2014 and 2017 by Real, 2015 by Barca and 2016 by Atletico).

yes, yesterday home field factor was crucial, the problem for Siviglia and Juventus is that they have to recover away, Bayern has a narrow advantage by 1-2 but force Siviglia to score at least 2 goals (not impossible IMO), very hard for Juventus against a team built for this and with no other target this season.
Roma played the perfect match, and in the overall dual challenge is surelly deserved, 4-1 at Camp Nou was too wicked despite a good match played, 3-0 at home is totally fair. Barca annihilated

What happened last night was beautiful, let Roma or even Liverpool win the Champions League, for the sake of football poetry |

Sevilla overcomming opponent on away turf isn't something new - we have to remember that they've eliminated Manchester United on Old Trafford. Though in Spain the result was scoreless draw. Bayern narrowly won 1-2, but their performance wasn't great. Unlike Barca, who battled on three fronts (now two), or Roma, who can't win in theory anything in the domestic competitions, Bayern has secured the Bundesliga title, but still they have to win the DFB-Pokal as well as challenging for UCL.
Sevilla on the other hand can't win La Liga or Copa Del Rey and can put all of their resources on UCL assault (the chances to not qualify for UCL is high and UCL win is their only ticket). After all they're UEL winners 3 times in the past 4 years for a reason. And recent history with Spanish teams isn't on Bayern's side - in the past 4 years Bayern gets hammered by Real Madrid (twice - 2014, 2017), Barcelona (2015) and Atletico Madrid (2016). Their advantage is their home record - Bayern rarely (if not at all) lose at Allianz Arena - as well as the fact that they've secured their priority (the Bundesliga).
Juventus on the other hand does not have the same situation as Roma as they're playing in Bernabeu. But in this season Barca defeated Real 3:0 at Bernabeu so Juve doing the miracle isn't mission impossible. But perhaps chasing Serie A is taking its toll on the bianconerri.

Tonight, Real will win, Bayern will win. Miracles don't happen every day, especially away from home. And whoever Liverpool get drawn against in the Semis, bring it on

what do you think about yesterday facts? I followed just first half, and then I heard a lot of bad words from bianconeri to referees and european referee executives too. After that I saw the penalty foul and I didn't feel a so big scandal IMO, it was an interpretation, ok maybe vey strict one, but after all Benatia was very clumsy in that tackle...I hope all what Juventus people said was due to the agonism of the moment and disappointment of a great upset trown..

It was a penalty. The challenge was clumsy and Vazquez has a shot on goal if the challenge does not happen. So I don't believe the level of reaction for that is justified. Maybe the red card could've been avoided. Juventus did not deserve to go out after yesterday's performance but last week they were lackluster. Buffon will probably be in big trouble with what he has said today.
