Not a bad race (rofl) Stunning execution of the sprint, and reward for Ochoa with a fine leadout.
Perfect way to head into the World Championships.

I assume you'll be controlling Spanish team. Which are the expectations for the race?

I will, it's the first time in 3 years the game actually lets me actually play it.
For the time trial ambitions are next to nonexistent. For the road race everything will depend on the way the race is handled. Both Izagirre and Barbero could do really good there.

World Championships 2019 - ITT Sam's reaction These legs man,... I could only dream about feeling this good on such a big day. I may have missed out on a huge win just a week back, but this makes up for so much. I'd like to thank everyone who's supported me all year long, I owe you all so much.
Celebrating? A little at least, yeah. I will not be taking part in the road race, so Il Lombardia or Varese will be my next race. I'll just be cheering from the side of the road on Sunday. For my teammates or compatriots? I ought to say both .

World Championships 2019 - Road Race Bristol, 251.1 kms
It wasn't a long wait for the first attack. Maciej Paterski went on the first Rownhill Hill climb to be followed by Carlos Betancur, Martin Hunal, José Gonçalves, Georg Preidler (for Poland, Colombia, Czechia, Portugal, Austria). Thanks to multiple early crashes on the slippery roads, the five managed to extend their gap. It quickly grew to over 10' on the first couple of laps. France, Australia and Italy started the real chase on the last 5 laps. Their respective sprinters were Demare, Ewan and Bonifazio. The lead was 5'. Colombia turned out to be lucky to have Betancur out front, as they lost sprinter Molano, who crashed with 60 left. He could forget about a role in today's finale. Four and a half slippery laps to go in South West England. Federico Zurlo crashed out of contention on the very same lap. The main name to take a fall alongside him was domestique Boris Vallée (Belgium). Jasha Sütterlin no longer wanted to wait, and he attacked on the third to last crossing of the city's major sight in Clifton Suspension Bridge. Home rider Stannard's intention was to counter, with Peter Sagan on his wheel. It took true costauds such as Küng and Lutsenko one entire lap to chase the strong trio down. The breakaway group saw its lead decrease to 50". When the pack kept closing in, Carlos Betancur felt the urge to go faster than his companions could. So he did, on the penultimate Rownham Hill. As the break came back together, the pace in the peloton dropped. Going into the last lap, Lutsenko and Küng took charge of the chase once more. The front five tackled it with an advantage of 1'15", plenty of work to do. This time Betancur accelerated after Rownham Hill. The rest had to let go of him and were about to be swamped from behind. Rainbow jersey in 9? Ion Izagirre himself used the annoyingly false flat Durdham Hill to bring the gap down to 25". Still, only 4km to keep the Colombian from winning. Hitting the barriered last 2 km, Betancur kept 15"! Meanwhile I.Izagirre gave everything for Carlos Barbero, who'd survived the bumpy course. Sütterlin, back at the front, launched like a madman. With 650 m left he came next to Betancur while Barbero had only just left Izagirre's wake. Rainbow jersey for Jasha Sütterlin from Germany! Betancur saw the race of his life rewarded with a silver medal, while the next two places went to Carlos Barbero and Ion Izagirre respectively, as bronze goes to Spain. An unexpected name, that's for sure. But his powerful sprint at the back of such a long race (and after having attacked earlier) was so impressive no one will complain about the outcome, I think. Off to Italy now for us.
