This should be a fun one.
Great preview - Very nice with the list of facts too.
Comming here with the main guys from Dauphine with Carapaz and Slagter as main actors - featured by Bilbao. With so many options I expect to see atleast a few attempts here if nothing more.
Rein will be tough to beat. But riders like Gesink and Spilak might manage to do just that though. Looking forward to see how this 3rd GC battle go!

Thanks Aquarius, a first nice quality report and a good performance by Boekmans. Too bad he was a bit too eager but the hill probably demanded too much effort eventually. Swift well delivering again, impressive consistency.

I´m happy with 7th from Reimer, shows he can be up there in this race maybe can surprise at some stage and get a podium if we are really lucky.
Congrats roturn, Swift delivers right away. |

And another GT win for Aegon. They have dominated the sprints in all GTs, massive results in this particular department. Congratulations roturn.
Porto - Prio going really well in the lanterne rouge already with five guys in the bottom 10. Way to go boys! Only Coutinho to spoil the party by finishing 10th and grabbing a hold of the maillot blanc.

Gunman doing his GT breakaway stuff is the first good news in a while. He will hopefully try to defend the KoM lead tomorrow, would be some welcomed points! And it's also a good stage to go clear, I guess. Not sure if the GC position will allow him to join breakaways though.
Aegon a great GT sprint team this year. Congrats!

Ohhh boy that was a nail-biter! Congrats to Aegon, a deserved win after an astounding leadout. I'm super happy with that sprint by Demare.
Feeling sorry for Evonik, but I'm absolutely certain Van Stayen will bounce back from this. It does make for a good looking points classification for now though, and Porsev mixing it up with the best helps with that as well.
I fear that Swift in yellow will make him return to his Paris-Nice form and win even hilly rated stages now
Honestly though, Demare has the GC position and the skills to win tomorrow's stage (pls Sagan no), or at the least finish on the podium to get into yellow regardless of gaps, or at the VERY least take over Swift's green jersey.
Arndt/Felline should like that stage as well.
I'm rather scared of the breakaway's chances though if even just three men on a flat parcours can pose such a threat. Any lack of strength or concentration among the chasing riders will be catastrophic tomorrow with the long downhill after the last KoM. The break needs to be small and back in the bunch by then.

Very good first stage there by the boys Duchesne in the break and Phinney looking comfortable at the moment!
Goals for the tour are a top 5 and the green jersey again should be possible with The startlist as it is to get the top 5 but anything more would be a bonus with 2 stage wins the minimum goal |

I sure hope so. Swift may have won this stage but Demare might be the real winner of the stage. He now is in the perfect position to take yellow and/or green on the next two stages

Which can only mean he won't get either.

Good to see Swift taking the win. Indeed, Demare is well placed now - but will that actually equate to a good Stage 2 from him?
Encouraging to see breakaway interest from the team. It did not work today, but hopefully will later in the race.

Thank you for a good report, Aquarius97!
Swift winning was to be expected as long as the stage was rated flat, but Demare surely shows his intentions for this race. If he does well on the upcoming hills, he could even fancy his chances for green vs. the GC riders. Congratulations on the stage, roturn! Just a powerhouse leadout by Sbaragli.
Looking at my own team, Guldhammer coming home safe was all that mattered, and we managed to do it, which is a good thing |

Holiday almost over but finally found time to read here to find out Tour has started and I missed the two prep races.
Apparently spoilers myself a but asI read TdF first, but it is obviously a positive spoiler which I will try to reread asap next week I guess.
Here though great sprint by Swift, even more by Sbaragli.
Love all this statistics really. Swift with couple of record breaking to come hopefully.
And Dekker hopefully indeed fighting for the top7. |

Ouch Nerz and Tenorio...
We seem to have avoided all mayhem, Golovash lost a heap of time, but I'll put that to saving energy for the TT...
Scarponi nicely in the big group with Pibernik, and Dzhus and Topchanyuk should be able to get into breaks from here.

Congrats again Roman, Sagan owning this season. Also great with no time losses compared to Spilak and Gesink for Rein
Really sad for Puma and Iberia. Puma with Nerz and then idiotic team tactics, and the bad luck for Iberia continues... Tenorio out of the GC is a bigger hit than Nerz
