His Tour of China II has already been taken into account especially for his HIL. I agree with something like 67 MO, but his STA won't make any difference in a stage of 150km, and he has 66 RES like Ivan Sosa, who only has 65 STA by the way. Vuelta al Tachira is a very difficult race to judge.

I think a small boost to Ewan's hill stat is required, after his performance at the nationals, where he endured Porte's attacks on Mt. Buninyoung very well, and after his performance this night where he won in Stirling. Even though it could have been a lot tougher stage, it takes some hillskill Cool

Viviani is getting stronger and more durable as well, and did well tonight.

Ewan Hill 70->71/72
Viviani Hill 68->69/70

Agree and have put Ewan to 71 and Viviani to 70. Viviani in general has improved overall as a rider.

He has been increased but better to wait a bit longer to see how he should be increased. much like Moscon last year in this respect

So 72 Hill for Kristoff after the WC and today's steep finish? Better on a hill than Viviani!

Time for a little upgrade for Laporte? After racing just Bessages and the first stage of

At the moment he's got 76 sprint, 77 acceleration, 68 TT, 72 Prologue, 74 flat, 72 hill, 73 CB)

Surely Bessages and Tour la Provence is enough proof that he's doing a little better in TTs than 72 PRL, Bessages was only 12km but Chavenal with 76 TT/77 PRL finished just 3 seconds faster, Provence 5.8km and the same time as Chavenal in 3rd place.

Granted with Colbrelli's 77/78 and Coquard's 77/79 sp/acc, 76/77 isn't terrible and I'd suggest to keep his sprint and ACC the same for now (I say this on the same basis that we know Ganna will win a Giro stage and top 10 in MSR, but we'll wait for March/May to improve his stats - we'll wait until Laporte takes a couple TDF stages and Green to update his sprint).

The main stat I'd honestly like to see really improved is flat, he was 5th on the echelons Stage 16 at last year's TDF won by Mathews and 5th (2nd in the bunch behind Kristoff) the year before on Stage 11, where Sagan and Froome escaped in the echelons, those strong Vendee attacks warrant it too.

He's really not a bad hills rider either, none of these races have been entirely flat, so I wouldn't mind seeing his flat increased to 76 and hill increased to 73/74, he has 76 res already which looks good for now (maybe 77?). Prologue (+ TT) should definitely be updated too, but I'm not sure what to suggest there.

I think those changes would reflect the type of rider he is better, he has a lot of power for surviving echelons or doing a sprint lead-out (he very often has legs left after doing the lead-out for Bouhanni) and this change will show that a little better, it'll also give his sprint a small boost before we actually change the sprint/acc stats when he shows it more later in the year and it'll make him able to attack like in Vendee.

Although, all his stats could use a raise when we get into the season, I read somewhere that he'll lead the classics (which will be awesome),he was 15th in GW last year and I really think he could excel in the easier ones - and maybe even the really tough ones with his general strength. Smile

Gvarv: Kristoff is still one of the most OP riders ion the game due to his high res one of the highest in the game and I don't think an improvement in hill is needed here, unless of course he returns to form in that respect in the hillier cobble classics.

Trek, Thanks for the thoughtful post and I actually though Laporte was higher than 74 flat!! so an easy 76 imo and have increased his res to 77 and hill to 73 and a slight increase as well in TT and pro until I can check them a bit more later on

Bernal needs upgrading a bit across the board already IMO. Talent!!

TT and going up/down gradients for starters.

Rodrigo Contreras impressed a bit more than his stats would suggest as well.

I imagine that he will need a few upgrades sooner rather than later, so feel free to suggest some TT and other stats. Always hard to stat a rider that is clearly improving all the time.

bah
Guys like Valverde who were downgraded in MO for PCM16 because their HI is so high need to be reupgraded now that HI is just for short sprints

Very valid point regarding Kristoff, and I stand corrected!!

I actually prefer using secondary stats to set some riders apart and am currently experimenting with letting "my" Sagan play with a puny 69 MNT (no, I don't think he is that "bad" ) and a crazy 82 res. So far he has been behaving more like a sprinter that likes tougher routes, and much less like an outsider for overall standings in Giro/Tour/Vuelta races. The crazy res makes sure that he is rarely dropped early on a mountain/hilly route.

Tafiolmo
Bah: If enough people think that Valverde should be more mtn then we will consider it BUT if you are basing this opinion of Abu Dhabi bear in mind that Valverde rides like this every season in general and then is not really good enough when he faces the other 80+ mtn riders in GT's like the Tour. Imo for Valverde to get a shift he needs to at least do very well in a recent GT like finish on the podium.

Gvarv: Sounds a good test and I would expect Sagan to behave like so, RES imo is the most important stat in the game as high res allows a rider to keep up what he's good at and to hang in there at what he's not so good at. One of the hardest types of riders to res stat for are sprinters that can't climb mtns that well. Because with high res I had countless races where a rider like Ewan with high res but low mtn was able to be a super dom at least on short mtns which does seem unrealistic. But to decrease his res too much could weaken his ability to be a sprinter and not just in sprints but in arriving to the finish.

I would suggest to take a look at Narvaez's stats. He's done very well in the French races this weekend. He seems to be strong in longer hilly races. He is very weak in the current db. It's hard to put specific numbers for stats for these early season races, but a big upgrade in HI, END and FL would for sure fit in I think

Thanks will pass that on to Aldrofj who stats the French races in case he doesn't see the suggestion here.

I've tried to do something with him, even if it is very difficult at the moment to determine what kind of rider he is.

He has now 69 COB, 70 TT, 72 FL, 72 MO, 73 END, 74 HIL and above all 74 RES, that will help him to perform decently everywhere. I prefered to focus on the secondary notes rather than MO/HIL.

Sprint upgrade for Tim Wellens? He had some good finishes this season.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Is being able to follow and attack somewhat the likes of Simon Yates and the Izagirre brothers enough to increase Dylan Teuns(and Wellens) Mountain?
