He had 74 SP/74 ACC before the Tour of Turkey, he could easily have more, I didn't personally focus on him. He seems to be quite slow, so he could have 75/74 now, and maybe 76/74-75 if he finishes well.

For a CT sprinter to go to 73 he has to be outstanding (and he is not even CT for the 2017 DB). I don't see that right now. If he would've consistently finished in the Top5 in Turkey (remember, it's not unlikely that he peaked for this) then I'd have said differently. In my eyes he disappointed in Turkey and 72 sprint is the maximum. I agree on his TT though, nice spot. I think an acceleration upgrade can be discussed.

Guys how Kristoff is 2 points better than Viviani in Sprints? Same with Demare?
Cyclassics Hamburg: https://www.procyc...?id=171128
Viviani(78) 1st ahead of Demare(80), Groenewegen(79), Kristoff(80), Greipel(81), Bouhanni(79)
Bretagne Classic: https://www.procyc...?id=171129
1st ahead of Kristoff and Bouhanni
2nd Stage Tour of Britain: https://www.procyc...?id=173862
1st ahead of Groenewegen, Gaviria(80), Ewan(79), Kristoff
4th Stage Tour of Britain: https://www.procyc...17_Stage_4
2nd only after Gaviria but ahead of Kristoff and Groenewegen
Scheldelprijs: https://www.procyc...prijs_2017
2nd only after Kittel (82) and ahead of Bouhanni
European Championships: https://www.procyc...Race__2017
Here 2nd after Kristoff for nothing, that's where he has proven Kristoff isn't much better than him.
I don't mean to give Viviani 80 but if one of them has better SPR, it's definitely Viviani. He lacks in everything else, and that's why it's okay with Kristoff having all other backup stats better (of course). Same with Boasson Hagen.
And as you can see from my avatar i like them, but that's just the truth.

You're looking at just one stat. Kristoff has 77 acceleration, which works really well in PCM to mimic his sprinting style. Viviani has 80. In PCM 17 SPR isn't as important in actual sprints as it used to be, while the game seems to care about ACC quite a bit. In a flat sprint they have the same chance to win - as it should be.

Of course i know the 3 points difference in ACC but i dont think it fills the gap in SPR, you say so...i believe
but still...look at hamburg's final sprint...he dominated the sprint, and if you consider also ACC, then consider every other backup stats, Kristoff will always have more chances |

But the question is whether we really want Kristoff to be worse than Viviani. I'd say that Kristoff is still more consistent and has been for the last years, and edges Viviani out for that reason. Despite that, the difference between them is not huge in a normal sprint.

In my opinion:
CURRENT -> MY OPINION
Modolo SPR 77 -> 78
Viviani SPR 78 -> 79
J. J. Rojas HILL 76 -> 75
Visconti 75 -> 76
Nibali HILL 77 -> 78
Contador CRI 73 -> 74
Diego Rosa HILL 79 -> 78
Intxausti HILL 74 -> 75 (this year he was injuried)
Meintjes HILL 78 -> 77 |

No of course Kristoff shouldn't be worse than Viviani, but on the same level, and i think it would be with Viviani 79 SPR.
Anyways, i agree with AiZaK Nibali 78HIL, he won Lombardia...

Aizak and Marco
We are currently going through every team at WT and PCT level for the 2018 season making adjustments to riders so that hopefully we have the best stats for the coming season and already Visconti was put back to 76 hill, now I will comment on the others.
Viviani is a natural sprinter which means higher acc. His problem is that he's inconsistent and when I put him to 79 before he stopped performing, but now back at 78 he is racing like a 79 sprinter again. The best solution is to see if he continues this form into next season and if he does then 79 will be good and I do expect Viviani to actually improve. I reckon 79/81 in sprint and acc would look good next season if he carries this form over.
Kristoff, Greipel and Demare: Kristoff is clearly in decline along with Greipel hence the lower acc but they still do have the power and again will be kept at these stats until next season. Kristoff with such a low acc for his sprint is going to struggle at the death as it should be. Denare is on top form and is how Kristoff was a few years ago and a pure power sprinter.
Rojas: Is 76 hill due to his AG this year, his problem is not lack of ability but intelligence when it comes to winning, unfortunately we can't program the AI to behave like Rojas.
Modolo: As a sprinter this year was disappointing but has developed more into a classics rider and his lowering in sprint sees increases in other areas will be interesting how he does in classics next year and if starts sprinting well again could well be back to 78 .
Nibali: This is a hard one which I will discuss with the DB team. Yes his Lombardia twice now warrants a 78 hill but he did poorly on hilly/shorter mtn stages in Gt's this year and this is where he lost crucial time, much like Quintana he prefers longer climbs. Lombardia is in his fav race list which also makes a difference
We will look at the others riders mentioned as well over the coming weeks when we get to those teams

Talking with Matt about Nibali, also Lombardia uses a lot of the mtn stat compared to some of the other hilly classics and even more so than LBL. So Nibali with his 81 mtn and Lombardia in fav races would always be one of the favs for the race anyway. Also other riders like Chaves, Uran and Pinot who have done well in this race over recent years also have higher mtn stats than their hill stats but Nibali has the highest mtn stat of them all.

Are you going to add many cyclists born in 1997, 1998 and 1999 in the database ? |

We continuously add young riders to the db. There's already quite a lot of riders born during that time in the database, too.

This is a difficult one and what we decided to do in the end was drop the hill stat of Chaves to 78 as he's had a bad year and keep Izagirre the same. But I increased his res, acc (most important for Ardennes) and his sta by a few points.. Also bear in mind Izagirre's high mtn stat helps him in the Ardennes classics..
