Expected breakaway win, congrats Alex
However, the most interesting is the fall, how much will the different riders suffer? Already a hit for Velits to miss Hirt

Finishing last in a winning break. Not cool but I won't complain. Gunman is active. Which is great.

Another stage, another podium!
Just had to be Barbero aswell. This kid surely enjoys an attack.
Nice start to the race for us here!
Congratz alex, Lammer was really tinking this one trough.

Very disappointing to see Hirt joining Faiers in abandoning, with other good climbers like Kruijswijk seemingly being injured. It's not good for the race, and sucks for the managers involved.
Thanks for the reports Tamijo, they've all been good reads.

Nothing. Maybe Golovash should finally start doing what I have brought him for... Attacking on these kind of stages where he should have a decent chance at doing well...

Robov seems strong, Im glad Abal did not help to reel in the break.
2nd place in the bunch sprint by Stallaert seems promosing.
Hope those crashes will be lesser from now in in this race when the first nervous week is over |

Very nice performance by Fankhauser and nice of Didier to try it as well. 3rd place is a nice catch from the botd, almost as good as Guarnieri's one time 2nd place at Giro

Congrats on another GT victory, alex! My guys seem keen on getting into a break but their attempts have invariably failed

Thanks guys.
Fun fact: my team never missed out on a Vuelta stage win since joining the Pro Tour in 2011:
- 2 in 2011: Cornu and Plaza
- 2 in 2012: Posthuma and TTT
- 1 in 2013: Posthuma
- 1 in 2014: Ruijgh
- 2 in 2015: All Gesink
- 3 in 2016: All Gesink
- 1 in 2017: Lammertink

If he's not injured, Kruijswijk crashing and losing time might actually be a good thing. It increases the chance of him going into a succesful breakaway later.
But there's definitely a chance that he is. Fingers crossed.

Gratz to the win, mate. That's some real class consistency, ever thought about switching over to a spanish sponsor once Gesink's declines, for roleplaying reasons?

Not really. I haven't looked at the Spanish market too closely but I don't think it has a lot of options on the long term
My current plan is to make Floris Gerts the next Dutch super star

Great (and weird) to see Vastaranta take part in the bunch sprints and do solidly. While it of course means nothing to us in terms of points I would love him to get a top 10 in what is supposed to be a farewell trip from him.

That's better. Stay away from Spain

GUNMAN
Finally our first win in the season that did not come from a TTT. It's great to see Gunman joining the breakaways now. Didn't look good when Bayly got away with Barbero responding. But it seems that Gunman played it smart and saved his energy for a great sprint. It's just a breakaway win, but I love it

Some minor points again from Kozontchuk, very good. Hoping that some more powerful riders are going to join the botd soon to also have a shot at the stage win eventually.
