About Vanspeybroucks season planning: I don't think that PTHC cobbles startlists will be much easier than PT cobbles startlists so the difference in expectations is a bit too much imo.

I know. Still: less points as a reward, so need to aim higher  I really don't expect Vanspeybrouck to finish on much podiums this yea though.

Being the manager's personal favorite has one advantage: your future on the team is secured. Jack Haig, now reaching his full potential, is his manager's favorite rider and the gifted stage racer is certainly one of only a few untouchable riders whenever the off-season begins. Haig joined our team three years ago, spending the first year with the Maloja Mountain Nomads. The past two years were key years for his developement and it's now his first season with a bigger role on the team.

Haig's biggest success so far has been his stunning gold medal in the U23 World Championship's ITT two years ago. He almost repeated this victory a year later, but came away with a still respectable silver medal this time. A strong support role for Lachlan Morton in the 2015 Tour de l'Avenir made him earn a solid 13th place in the final GC.
In Jayco'z colors, Haig impressed in one of his rare leader roles, when he rode to a strong 7th place in last year's Tour of Ukraine. Another strong showing happened in the Tour de Suisse, where he helped Morton to finish 5th in the final GC, climbing to a solid 19th by himself.
SEASON PLAN FOR 2017
Haig surely still needs a few years of intensive training to compete with the world's best stage racers, but with his combination of climbing and timetrial skills, he can become a factor in ProTour races already this season. While we obviously won't expect him to fight for Top-15 placings, it's the first season for Haig to have the leading role in several races:

Haig will have a late start into the season, as the GP Liechtenstein will be his first event. With Morton simultaneously racing the Giro d'Italia, it's about Haig to score a hopefully notable result. With a few great climbers probably in Italy that time, we may expect him to be able climbing to a Top-20 result.
It's then a busy summer for Haig, as we will get to ride 50 racedays in a rather short time: two GTs for Haig this year. Vuelta a Espana, the Dauphiné and the Tour de France. In all three stage races, Haig will be our main man for the GC. Again, we do not expect wonders, but particularly the Dauphiné with it's 52km ITT may suit him. At least we hope, that he will gain an advantage over some stronger climbers that way.
After his packed mid-season program, Haig will then have two more races: the always important Copenhagen-Malmo TTT and a support role for Bobridge in Tasmania. We're confident that this is his optimal plan for the season, even though we had some hard times thinking about letting him race the Volta a Portugal instead of a second Grand Tour. But considering our future plans with Haig, the experience to ride GTs was a big factor for our decision here.

RACE PREVIEWS | JANUARY 2017
 BADALING INTERNATIONAL | PT | Classic
The traditional ProTour opener in China has not produced any pleasant results for Jayco in the past two seasons. The 232km long route with many climbs does not really suit our captain Jack Bobridge, but of course it's still a hilly classic and so his presence is needed. Since his recent results in this classic were kinda underwhelming, we would be happy with a Top-10 result to kick off our season.
At least Bobridge has some prominent support in China: Lachlan Morton will get to ride one of only a few one day races. The premium climber loves to race tough routes and his stamina should come into play here. Given the slightly mountainous character of the parcours, Morton may be a key factor for Bobridge's ambitiouns. Also Pieter Vanspeybrouck and Nathan Haas are considered key domestiques for our leader, while both may be capable of pulling a Top-30 result as well.
 COLOMBO CLASSIC | PTHC | Classic
A new race on the calendar will be Jack Bobridge's second outing in the season. The hilly Colombo Classic is significally shorter than Badaling and the route looks better for his skillset. Our first PTHC event this year, the Colombo Classic is obviously a race that we want to win. Adam Phelan will replace Lachlan Morton, but it's still our almost best possible support for Bobridge here. There's less excuses than in Badaling to miss a podium result, so here's where our season gets a first indicator of how it may go in 2017. We had a pretty disappointing start into last year's campaign and we would prefer to perform better in January this time.
 TOUR OF QATAR | PT | 6 Stages
Without Matthew Goss, who left Jayco to ride in the PCT this year, the Tour of Qatar will be a tough challenge to get some notable results. Lahcen Saber will be our main sprinter, but given the heavy competition here, it ain't looking too promising as for results in the sprint stages. He's maybe still one or two years away from being a true force in a packed sprinters' field.
Anyway, it's business as usual in Qatar: if we miss out on sprint bonifications, we at least hope for our core of TT-guys to survive the first five stages in the first groups and land a strong result in the concluding short timetrial. Luke Durbridge and Michael Hepburn are our most promising contenders for a GC result somewhere in the Top-15/20. In such a short timetrial, it will all come down to a perfect ride and a good daily form. Here's hoping that at least two of our TT horses will have a good run.

 TIRRENO - ADRIATICO | PT | 7 Stages
The triple-header in February will see two of our leaders in action: Lachlan Morton will lead our lineup in Italy, where a 16km TTT will hopefully give Jayco an advantage over some less deep timetrial teams. While Morton probably won't be amongst the top favorites for the GC, we do hope that he can fight for a Top-10 result. Lining up with a pretty strong TTT setup and Dyball/Canty as two decent (while obviously not overwhelming) domestiques for the mountains, there's some faith in our roster for T-A.
PARIS - NICE | PT | 8 Stages
Jack Bobridge will lead our team in P-N and it's an obvious choice with only hilly stages and a 16km ITT on the schedule here. Our captain had a pretty good start into the season with his best finish in Badaling (13) and an unspectacular ride to a strong result in the Colombo Classic (2). While a stage race like P-N ain't the easiest thing to do, Bobridge has a pretty solid stage race history for Jayco and anything but a Top-5 result would be quite a bummer.
For the flat stages, we brought Lahcen Saber. He stood no chance (as expected) in Qatar, but with maybe a few less premium sprinters attending in France, he may at least be a factor in bunch sprints here. Obviously, we won't expect too much from Saber though.
 CLASSIQUE DU GRAND-DUCHÉ | PT | Classic
Nathan Haas is our leader for the third race in the triple-header and of course we can't expect a special result with a lineup like that. Joining the early breakaway is our main goal and maybe Haas or Pieter Vanspeybrouck to be on the good side of splits occuring in the final quarter of the race. It won't be an easy race for this squad we brought, but entering a race without any expectations has it's positives.
MILANO SAN REMO | PTM | Classic
The same goes for our final race in February, the first Monument in 2017: Pieter Vanspeybrouck and Lahcen Saber will be our main riders for MSR. Both won't have any pressure to deliver a big result, but as we had two solid results from Marcus Burghardt in the past two editions here, Vanspeybrouck is a rider, that we think, can finish in the Top-20 range.

As always, graphically the best HQ of MG 
Bobridge had a decent January, with that 2nd place in Colombo and not so bad in Badaling (the mon stat with a big importancy damaged him).
I can't say you too much about Nice or Tirreno, as i know what you've done there  , but on paper, in Nice Bobridge is a podium favourite with the TT in his favour and your TTT squad should improve Morton's GC chances a lot in Tirreno

Jack Bobridge held the GC lead at P-N thanks to a great timetrial. He dropped to 6th in the GC after a horrible day in S6 though. Key points lost..
Jacob Salcone showing his NC colors for Fiji in the break of the day at the Grand Duche classic. Adam Phelan would eventually ride to a notable 15th place. A good day for Jayco.
RACE PREVIEWS | MARCH 2017
STRADA APPIA ANTICA | PT | Classic
As for all cobbled classics this season, our roster will be led by Pieter Vanspeybrouck. Surely not amongst the very best cobblers in the PT field, the experienced Belgian still offers a nice overall package for challenging courses over the pavé. The Strada maybe not as the best suited race for him, but our goal is clear: consistently fighting for Top-10 results is, what Vanspeybrouck has to deliver in every cobbled classic he enters.
Lahcen Saber will be our second leader in this race. The sprinter certainly survives cobbles pretty well and here's hoping that he will be in the first main group(s) to sprint to a notable backup result behind Vanspeybrouck. Top-20 would be fine enough.
VUELTA A PAIS VASCO | PTHC | 6 Stages
The biggest race for Jayco in March: the Vuelta a Pais Vasco. With a TTT and an ITT on the schedule, this race is a win goal for Jack Bobridge. After a rather disappointing ending in Paris - Nice (when Bobridge lost a comfortable GC position as the man in yellow, suffering on a very bad day in stage six), we must at least take a stage-win and a GC podium in this PTHC event. Obviously, the GC win must be possible with two timetrials and those hilly stages in addition.
Except of Nathan Haas (who's the main support for Bobridge in the hills), we pretty much brought our premium TTT setup. Ben Dyball as a strong TT guy probably won't hurt our chances in the TTT and so he's another important piece to both the timetrial(s) and the support for Bobridge. As experienced in Paris - Nice, we do know, that any bad day can hurt your GC chances badly. So we hope for Bobridge being at (or close to) his best on all days here.
 RONDE VAN VLAANDEREN | PTM | Classic
The month will conclude with two more cobbled classics: The Ronde obviously as another big event in this month. Vanspeybrouck as our sole leader in Saber's abscence. The goal remains the same as for Strada. Top-10.
E3 PRIJS | PTHC | Classic
We are aware of the strong competition in the PCT, but we still aim for Top-5 results in the PTHC cobbled classics. With both Vanspeybrouck and Saber leading our squad here, there's certainly a chance to get a lucky result eventually. Saber as a dangerous option for a bigger bunch sprint, Vanspeybrouck hopefully with an aggressive ride to try and split the leading goup into pieces.

Hadn't made it to this HQ yet until today, but my goodness, what an amazing looking thread. The effort put into this HQ is outstanding and the graphics, well, they speak for themselves.
With Penasa doing the business for us this year, I'll certainly be monitoring any other talents Jayco's have got coming through their youth system. Think Haig might be released anytime soon?

One can dream Even if Bobridge and Morton performed better than they do so far this season, Haig would be a key rider for me in the future. And if my captains continue to disappoint me, his future role will grow even bigger Maybe there will be other Jayco talents than Haig, who become of interest for you in further years.
