14th is fine, guess Bystrom will struggle to get any more result in that caliber this season. Seeing 4 guys from PCT infront make is a top 10 result compared with PT this which is good. Once again our depth failed a bit had hopes for our 76 hill guy Zielser could end on top 50 but not.
Congrats Roman, impressive start for Sagan so far!
Thanks for the report! |

Starting to feel bad for EBH now, the guy can't seem to break the code..
Sagan looking like the real life Sagan. Great win

Uhum, Porto - Prio if you mind
Cool result, it's exciting to see Borges amongst the very best here, but I definitely wasn't expecting him to be shoulder to shoulder with EBH at the end. I don't mind him finishing around 100th every couple of races, like in Badaling, if he comes up with these performances once in a while.
Kudos Roman. Sagan has proven to be an impressive bet from you!

What a monster Sagan has become! Congratulations again, Roman. Great race for Gastauer as well on home soil, must be satisfying for SN to see. EBH in third arguably looked to be the strongest through the race, and I guess tastasol will be happy with that, seeing how he raced the final kilometers. Must say it's great to see EBH at another level this year compared to 2016.
And what a race that was from Borges as well, 4th for a rider like him is magnificent.
Also another quality report, which makes it all the nicer to read. Thank you, AbhishekLFC.
For my team I'd say we got 5 bonus points with Trentin getting 50th instead of 51st |

Thank you all for those kind messages!
This is actually an amazing surprise for me. I had a really hard decision to make in this off-season if I either should further train Bewley or mainly train Sagan into what he is now. I had hopes Sagan could have a chance to be a regular player in the main battle in PT hilly classics, but this is actually way better than was my plan. If Sagan wins 2 out of 2 PT hilly classics, than he already looks better than just a mini-version of Ponzi, and that is all what I hoped for before the season. Superb stuff. Looks like the decision I have made was absolutely correct, however I already fear about Sagan's next year's wage tbh. Will have a hard time to keep my team together surely...
But if I consider only this season, looks like we may actually have a bigger chance against Festina this year. Won't be easy though, even though we have a superb start of the season, Festina are only just behind us, collecting points everywhere. Also nice to see Gastauer and Vesuvio getting a podium in their home race. Sorry about Sagan! And also cool results for both Porto and our wildcard team Isostar, wow.
Lastly I have to be consider results of my other riders than just Sagan: 25th for Parra Bustamente and 28th for Vysna are actually good results as well. Nice and good quality report to read as well, thanks AbhishekLFC!

2nd!
Gastauer may never get a better chance to win our home race, but to come 2nd is still a pretty great result, too bad there was just no coming round Sagan.
On Tinkoff, we already decided it a couple of days ago. (And I thought it had been posted) In any road race where a team turns up with less than 6 riders, they will score 0 points for that race - being treated as disqualified in the race results, meaning that all other riders move up accordingly. While the intention is that all cases are picked up in checking the planners at the start of the season, the manager ultimately has responsiblity.
The precedence for this is from a few seasons ago, when there were a couple of cases where race clashes were not picked up until after the races had been reported. When that happened, the rider was disqualified from the 2nd race they participated in. (Though while I can remember it happening, I don't remember which rider/race/season)

Well this was my second report and I hope they've been good so far. Didn't ask after Omloop but I've read a few appreciative comments in both threads, so I'm hopeful
About the race, at the end, when Hagen moved over to let Sagan lead, I thought it was just a dummy to attack again. But that never happened and no one could catch Sagan once he accelerated. Too bad neither Grieg nor Isostar will get points for this race. Massive effort from them both against full PT opposition.
Congrats Roman and Moser. Great start to the season so far!

Is there anyone that still does not believe Moser/Roman will win this season? Even the super-strong Festina team will be able to do it if this continues... And Bewley hasn't really started either...

It definately will take all of our depth to be able to hang on, and then hope my GC races will claw back the points lost.
But no way am I going to just stroll towards the win again this season.
That said, I'm very impressed with how close I currently am, and with a good Paris-Nice we could be within 100-150 points after the tripple header, which is pretty insane considering the fact that Moser have won 3 out of 4 Pro Tour races so far.
I will need some of the other Milano San Remo favorites to perform better than Bewley though

Happy with a top 20 for Duchesne points like that are what we need to keep Ticking over and it's pretty much on par with Pichon last year |
