I feel I gotta defend myself because I'm going away this evening and I might not be back online for another 12 hours or longer. So:
Not sure why both TMM and hillis are lynching me. I don't think it helps the town to randomly lynch people and it appears this is what they're doing so that makes me think that:
a) TMM and hillis actually lynch me for being against their GIFs
b) both or one of two is mafia and want a lynch
c) either or both actually think I'm mafia in which case I hope to see their reasoning behind it. |

Killing Waghlon is not the smartest move the mafia could've made imo. No matter what he does or says he'll always be suspicious.
But for now I'll lynch nobody

At the moment all of hillis' and TMM's posts are a little reminiscent of Waghlon's posts last season, that's not saying that they are mafia but in particular the lynch votes for Ian are really suspect (there's no way we should ever lynch Ian over that!)
Anyway, will cast a vote for hillis now because TMM has already said a little something to defend himself, although inves should definitely check them out.

I agree, I'll change to
Lynch TheManxMissile
However I'd still really like to see hillis defend himself or at least get an investigator on him.

What, that i thought hillis was being overly visible and trying to deflect obvious attention. Not sure how that makes me suspicious. And i only want to lynch Ian in defence of the gifs! Think of the gifs!
Don't take me out, i'm trying to save you!
I think as a first time player i've misjuged this game very badly. I'm gonna go away and stay quiet.

I don't know, if a something can lynch somebody with an excuse that, "They don't like my GIFs." and get off scot-free because they have an excuse, it seems kind of suspicious because it'd be very convenient way to remove a townie for the mafia.
EDIT: I've been zabel'd will think for a bit but maintain my post for now.

Hillis does seem very lynch happy which makes me believe he is likely mafia, surely a townie would want to lynch nobody right now as there is a chance the mafia take out the detective early in the nightly kills, I don't think it is wise for the town to randomly lynch this early as the detective wouldn't even have had time to make sure he is not the confused cop yet so if the town accidentally go to lynch him this early through a random guess it would be very bad for them as he would likely have to reveal himself to save himself and make him a massive target for the mafia.
I definitely think hillis needs investigating but don't want to randomly lynch anyone this early.
And I agree with Ian the gif's are annoying, especially when viewing the forum on my phone on my break at work like I am now. They are less of a problem on my pc when I'm at home but I'm still not a fan and won't be using them myself.

I'll go for Lynch Nobody instead aswell.
However, i do think we all in the future should start going after the players that are inactive here. Thoose sneaky bastards trying to sneak their way through this thing!
And the Ian Butler thing, was because of the Gifs, i mean, come on.

I'm generally following Knockout's advice which is to lynch early because it leads to player's having to defend themselves and ideas of who's willing to jump on the bandwagon as well as possibly outing a mafia or potential distraction in a suspicious player.
Also, many inactive players or possible more cunning players who have just posted very briefly once or twice to look out for as potential mafia.

Just catched up with the little action that happened so far:
2 posts and one user looked a bit odd to me till now:

Hi, I'm putting it out here that I'm just a worthless old town member. No need to look my way

Before we actual start the game, I'd just like to put it out there for everyone that defending yourself against accusations does not make you mafia. People always jump to this conclusion, and it's always stupid. Everyone defends themselves because we all want to stay in the game and have our side win. I just wanted to get that out there before we lynch innocents again for being honest.
I have no idea why ryant would post that and am not sure what he's intending with that post. I also cannot remember anything similar from him (e.g. from last season) so it strikes me as odd.
I agree with bbl's message. But posting it just after the season started makes me doubt him a bit.
The member that looked odd to me is hillis. His constant spamming reminds of Waghlon last season.
That said, i have no reason to doubt TMM so far. I liked this post (that was pretty much my own thought as well) and his other posts (gifs, voting to lynch IAN because of gif critic) are fully in line with his general behaviour on pcmdaily. Also don't act like there was a reasonable chance that Ian would get lynched today when the only accusation is "he doesnt like gifs"

Well it's not really activity if it doesn't contribute to the game. People find it suspicious that there are many posts that are distracting from the game and lynch votes are never really a good sign - even Waghlon was serious when he made them! (and he really was mafia )
I mean if you guys aren't mafia, you've distracted us from some actual suspicious posts going on, like as Knockout mentioned, Ryant's (and too a much lesser extent imo, BBL's). Which I totally forgot about when a whole page of gifs came in. So people find it that you are hindering the town - and likely mafia.
Obviously we've got to take into account that you're first time players but it only takes reading one previous game to work out that inactive guys are suspect.
Still, I propose the Inves/CC should take a look at these guys (in no particular order, except BBL is probably low priority).
Hillis
TMM
Ryant
(BBL)
I'd like to get some thoughts on this post though.
