I have to agree the transfer season wasn't the best in ICL history. I will personaly rather spend my money on training rather than helping out the people who got themselves in trouble with silly offers.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

There was just a serious lack of money floating around, almost zero liquidity at times and less willingness to any deals imo. High steals and high offers on one side unnecesasarily decreased the available budget and called for low pricing to begin with, and the recluctance of more passive managers to put money forward. A real dilemma, imo.

Glad that the Betancur-Contador deal has gone through, quite some long talks past us haha. Biggest ICL trade ever, next to Porte-Froome?

No one will send you back to CT jandal7 . All is due to the fact that some managers overstated the value of many good riders. And if you have to pay a salary and add some money to it, then it is much harder to complete the team. That's all. Still another way is when the manager wants the second so much money as the rider's salary. Then in fact, sometimes it is better to find a replacement in free agents. |

I try to avoid transfers anyways, both selling and buying will rarely be done by me. Goal is to raise all talents for the main team in the dev team, and only sell useful riders who sadly would have no real use in the main team that season.

Kweuke is talented but still, ouch, what a transfer fee. To me it doesn't really matter, though, that he was only picked up from the FA list this season. I'd say ouch if croatia had picked him up last season and sold him now, too. Still, it might be worth the discussion whether to ban transfers in the same (transfer) season. Being a newbie I can only say that I picked up and gave away Merino and was debating myself if I should do it. At least I didn't make a profit, the offer came from a WT team, I was new to the game... but I would have been fine if it hadn't been allowed. Also, matt may not have placed that many offers in the first FA round.
Big trade indeed, Contador and Betancur!

Woah. There's a lot to go through here. First of all, Jandal and matt have already paid a big price and I'm certainly not going to criticise them any further. They made honest mistakes, but let's move on and start the season on a more positive note.

This is my position exactly. I'd like to help guys out but there's only so much that we can reasonably be expected to do. I'm happy that I helped to get matt out of debt but really it shouldn't be incumbent on other managers to sacrifice their plans. It hasn't been a problem in past years and I think this should serve as a caution of "worst case scenario" when it comes to over-paying.

This is a very good point. I hadn't thought of it this way, but the fines effectively removed almost $5000 from the transfer system. Maybe in future the funds from a fine can be distributed evenly between other teams to allow for easier transfers? My preferred option would be to simply cancel the highest bid made by a team which goes over budget, and awarding the rider to the next highest bidder.

Sorry, that was not only directed at the Kweuke deal, although I find it weird that he will be by far the most expensive rider. I'm just not in general very pleased how some parts of the transfer season are going. Starting with the two teams ruining the FA market and afterwards the prices in the transfers round, managers being frustrated because of some weird over the top steal attempt and also of course riders freshly signed from the FA being transferred for large sums like Kweuke.
I realize this is mostly my fault for not giving more strict and clear rules. For next season I'll have to think through every part of transfers starting with steals to ensure a fair transfer season with better rules, that'll also give some boundaries for smart teams using every flaw of the system.
Maybe there should be a rule that riders cannot be involved in more than one transfer during the off-season. For example, if I sign Konovalovas in the FA market, he can't be transferred to any other team end will have to spend a full season with his new team.
Further, if a rider is transferred between teams (e.g. Nathan Brown), the same rule applies and he can't be transferred again.

Talks were going on for very long indeed. Quite cool that we could make it happen in the end
For me, that means that either Boom or Ciolek will have to go. If you want one of them, now is your chance!

After the Contador move and the departure of Verona, one of Van Asbroeck, Castroviejo or Gallopin may still be sold.

Springer and Kathman still up for sale, only one will go. Not going to accept the current bids. Sorry about the inactivity, but no access to my laptop for the past 12 hours or so.

Exactly my point, I'd never sell these guys for such low prices normally.

Now accepting rider swaps and lower bids for the riders I put up for auction. Any rider swaps MUST result in a money profit for my team (e.g. Bos (215) for a 170 wage rider).
Still seeking to sell one rider or swap for a cheaper one. Haga, Peng and the 100 wage riders will still only be sold for a profit of at least 50, but lower offers will be considered for Bos and Hoogerland. Jetse Bol will only be sold for a profit of ~100.
PS: Just realised my offer for Kathman was not posted for Springer as well, only change is Hoogerland now lowered to -5.
