IMO the drivers would actually want Verstappen to be banned at least for one race. They did it with Grosjean and he isn't the walking crash disaster anymore.

Grosjean in 2012 crashed out in several races in the first lap, with him being the guilty part in all those incidents. And when the Spa disaster happened, and remember that just by a few centimetres he didn't hit Alonso's head with his car, the one-race ban was necessary (btw it also made Alonso lose that WDC)

And if someone of the current grid needs to have a ban it's Kvyat, not Verstappen

Kyvat the Torpedo

A total disaster for Ferrari this weekend, having both cars crash out on the first lap. Like the Mercedes in Spain a few years back. Except the Ferraris do not have the point cushin. Hamilton for WDC this year.

Actually it was last year, which ultimately cost Hamilton the title.

Daniil Kvyat has been replaced by Pierre Gasly for the Malaysian GP and onwards, with the French preparing his full time seat for 2018. Not looking good for the Russian who seems to have seen the doors closing for an eventual future ride next season.

A relief for almost everyone at the F1 Paddock, but, at the same time, some really awkward and edgy career management done by Red Bull here, to be honest.

Well, Kvyat is likely to return for Austin, as Gasly has to ride the final round of Super Formula in Japan, but this is likely the end of Kvyat's days in F1. Horrible season for him, Sainz just destroyed him, i think that since both are team-mates Sainz has scored 80 points for Kvyat's 8

Although there is a chance that he will continue in Toro Rosso if Red Bull doesn't want to put Sean Gelael yet in the car in 2018

Eh, Kvyat was always average at best. His future with Red Bull was pretty much over last year when he got dumped for Verstappen at the main team. Then they just needed to fill the Torro Rosso seat for a bit whilst they made sure the next dev driver was ready. And now Gasly is ready it's Danii who gets the boot.
Gasly could be good, got all the signs of talent. Although no idea who will partner him at TR in 2018. Can't see it being Kvyat, but equally the other RedBull dev drivers are all rather young and inexperienced

It was not great PR when they booted/swapped him for Verstappen right after Vettel had that public talk with Horner. I don't think we will ever see him in F1 again.

Do you guys think that this also means the end of the Russian GP?

Having a Russian driver in the pack sure does bring more interest for a Russian GP, though I don't b€li€v€ we $hall $ee that $c€nario $oon. Because, as it stands, Sergey Sirotkin might buy his way into a F1 seat in the future.

Kvyat was never anything special, next season we won't ever remember him missing.

Well the $$$ argument is somewhat lessened these days with the takeover of Liberty. If Bernie was the man incharge the Russian GP wouldn't go anywhere due to the fee it pays, but with Liberty less focused on race fees we may see it slide away after it's contract ends (perhaps wishful thinking but not outrageous).

Not quite sure how soon we'll see Sirotkin appear in F1, given Renault are getting Sainz to partner Hulk next year. And both are very good drivers i don't see moving on for at least 2-3 years. At which point i think Renault has better options in it's young driver scheme to promote.
Even then, one drive wouldn't sustain an entire GP by himself. He's not exactly Alonso.

Even I have doubts that, according to the current situation, Sirotkin will find a seat in F1. But, considering Sauber has relied on Nasr and Ericsson's income to sustain their place in the grid a couple of years ago, I'd imagine he could be leverage to the team, hypothetically speaking (and I believe he almost got a run with them in 2014). Because, at the same time, being linked with Ferrari, they might run some of the Scuderia's development drivers, like Giovinazzi (which I hope will get a full run for 2018) in the coming years. But, I only expect this as a last resource for any team.

Location Birmingham, England

Probably right about where Stroll would be too at the moment if he had continued to not turn into the corner. Rolling Eyes

Why is Vettel trying to overtake on the outside on the Slow Down lap?

Dunno, it was dumb either way.

Finally no bad luck for Max and he wins. Figures.

I think the pace of ferrari and mercedes have played their parts in keeping him off the top spot this year Wink
But he did nail this race. A good move on Hamilton then set sail into the distance. Red Bull were right up there on pace and Max delivered when he had to.

you mean Kvyat get's demoted, he's had plenty of racers where he didn't had bad luck but no pace and no fuck ups by other teams

Verstappen has won always the race after Kvyat had been demoted from his team
