My team had better season than last time. Also, last year it was one vote that CCC wasn't in the WT (I could say mine, because I voted for the other team Pfft). This time it was also so close to the promotion Grin.

Third time's a charm?

@ivaneurope: New teams can participate. Don't let yourself be influence by the others how say you shouldn't do it, it is very much possible to make some bargains through steals. Wink

@dominox: Very sorry about this, you were again the first team to miss the cut, but I couldn't promote you over Lufthansa or Sevilla as there were too many points missing in the rankings and they also did better in the focus races, so they had a more WT worthy budget. I hope your third try at promotion will be successful. Wink

Yeah, I'm not mad Grin. I know I had bad results in my focus races, but I believe it was actually closer than last year. More points and higher place in CT ranking, but lower in Prestige ranking as I decided to focus on continental races and this time won't be different.

I believe that third time's will be a charm.

Great that we got it running! The 2017 season officially begun I guess, though it's still anyones game to sign up. As an established WT team now of course no steals by Grupo Argos (sounds weird to not say Leopard anymore Pfft )

So I've downloaded the steals.xlsx and am getting a first look at the "market". What do some of the columns mean? RD? TF? +? LS?

I'm also a bit confused as to why most teams have so very few riders. I thought it's steals first and then renewals so I'd imagine I'd see teams here with 20+ riders, but most don't even have 10.

I think the only of those you wrote you should look at is RD. It's my third season and after your post I looked at those TF, LS, + for the first time Grin.
RD - race days. Better rider is, less race days he have.

I don't know how that happen. Probably you already had something sorted. Because every team have the riders they should have.

RD = Race Days
TF = I honestly have no clue, could be "Talent Funds" meaning that the riders wage was (partly) paid out of the talent budget that season
LS = Last Season: Red when a rider retires
+ = Bought potion of youths (which implicates a later age of decline)

Cheers guys! So the better a rider, the fewer race days he can have? Interesting. My other problem was due to Open Office, I guess, it somehow hid 3/4 of the rows.

The actual transfer season is relatively simple as long as you take the time to read the explanation of what to do thoroughly, it has three main parts, which are steals, renewals and transfers. The steals are allready posted and usually have little effect (although I did get the main rider in my promotion from them) and renewals don't apply to you.

The transfer system isn't too complicated and the free agent sheet is explained here: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....ost_996145 you will just have to write how much money you want to pay for a rider and the team who his the most gets him, unless another team bids within 80% of that amount. (In which case it'll go to PMing bikex a bid)

Working out the value of what to pay for a rider and what sort of riders you should buy is somewhat hard, you can work out what riders are suitable as leaders in the CT by checking the current database and seeing the riders who are best in each stat in the CT division and aiming for a couple of riders of similar ability (even if you only end up bidding on one or two leaders, although I had one top leader and 3 other riders who weren't bad at result in CT on their terrain). Once you have decided on who to bid on (making them from a focus nation if you can is nice and a good way to choose even if it's not nessecary) you can think about domestiques or other riders, try to pick them from focus nations if you want and just select generally good riders, I usually say only above 70 in their preferred stat, a super-domestique of as close ability as possibly to your leader is good too. You can also bid on other leaders for other terrains, even if there not as good as your top leader and a couple support riders for them, if you want. Just as long as you don't aim too high/low, keep within your budget and don't rely on signing a single rider, not too much can go wrong, (also remember to sign 8 riders for your Dev team)

For how much to spend on riders, I divided my budget by how many riders I needed to sign (16 or 24 with a Dev team) and work out the general amount I could spend on each rider, although it was more for leader and less for domestiques, for how much you should pay for a leader see what kind of wage similar riders to the riders you want to sign in the db were paid last season, I generally say a couple 200-400) hundred over the minimum wage. For your weaker domestiques though, you can go a lot closer to the minimum wage.

The transfers between teams is pretty simple, you just PM other managers to negotiate riders, just remember that fees paid for riders comes out of your budget as well as the riders wage.

Steals (which is optional), due in by Monday. I think that's the only thing you really need to do right now, everything else is just information for the season ahead. Transfers will begin soon, and that's where you will need to select most of your team through either trading or free agents Wink

This is how the renewals work: A rider demands a certain wage of you. You can then decide whether you want to accept that wage and re-sign him for the next season, don't prolong his contract or wait. You have three chances to make an offer before the negotiations end.

How does the file work:
1 Put in C3 your team ID. If you forgot it, check it in table "teams".
2 In column H the riders current wage is listed in row I the minimum wage that has to be paid. In column K you see the demand of the rider. In the cell on the left of that you usually see a 0. There are three possible exceptions. If there is a "!!!" then you have to agree to the riders demand in your first offer as he is in a danger of a steal. If you don't agree then your rider will leave for another team. Is there only one exclamation mark then also a team is interested in a steal but the offer of that team is not good enough for the rider to accept right away. If that's the case you can do the negotiations as usual. Just when the negotiations fail, the rider will consider again to go to the team that attempted the steal. If there is "IN" written then that rider is already on your team next season as you contracted him through scouting.
3 In N you make your first offers. If you agree to the wage the rider wants just write it there. If you want to make an offer with a lower wage than put in there how much you offer instead. If you want the rider to leave the team put a 0. If you want to wait with negotiations to a later round put a "W" in there.
4 In row 2 you see how much budget you'd have left with your offers.
5 If you made your offers go to "PM" copy for round 1 cells B-C and send them to me in a table. In round 2 you will send me F-G and in round 3 J-K.
6 After sending me a pm you will get an answer from me asap with the riders reactions. Go to "Renewals" sort the riders after their ID and put the list you get into row R for round 1, for round 2 that'd be row S and for round 3 row T. If a rider is out the list will tell you "OUT", if the rider agrees to your offer it will say "IN". If you didn't reach the min wage he'd accept you will either get 1,2 or 3 +. If it's only one the lowest wage he'd accept is within 50. If there are 2 then it is between 50 and 100 and with three + it is more than 100 away.
7 If you get +s back then you can continue negotiations in column O (round 2) and column P (round 3). If you get back an "IN" or "OUT" then you can't continue negotiations as you already came to an agreement with the rider.
8 If you didn't come to an agreement with the rider after 3 rounds then he'll leave the team.
9 You are not allowed to be over your budget after Renewals.

Mediator

Some Teams have put some money in last season's research into mediator. In the spoiler below you can see how much. With each mediator unit you can lower the minimum a rider would accept by 5-15 (One unit costed 10). Just tell me when sending in the first renewals round on which rider(s) you want to spend your mediator. You can't use mediator on riders that have a steal attempt on themselves and also can't go below the minimum wage of that rider with that.

I hope everyone understands how it works.
If you want, you can wait after the first round of renewals, so I can tell you if your steal attempts went through, so you can calculate better with your budget. If you wish to wait please tell me that in your PM.
Because of that, I hope to get the first round of renewals within 24 hours, maximum you have 48 for the first round. I'd like to have renewals finished the latest on Friday.
If you wish to make the renewals via dropbox, it's also possible, I did that last season also with some already. Some already have a shared dropbox folder with me, others would need to tell me their email.
New teams don't have to do anything in this round, obviously, FA signing will start directly after renewals.

You might notice that the budget of the teams changed slightly. WT teams now have 650 more and CT teams 450. This was necessary to counter the higher demands of some riders due to the Min Wage changes. Some teams still will find it difficult to keep all their captains.

In case you plan on keeping money for Research and Scouting already. I'm about to finalize this year's research prizes. Most stay close to last season. I only can say already that the Potion of Youth will become more expensive. Also money spent on scouting will be more rewarding than before. I try to find a way to make sure teams with a high talent focus have a higher chance of signing the good talents.
Information about what's important for the budget of the season after this one, will also come shortly.
