Hello guys
I was starting 2 days ago to put my legends from the childhood into the game like ullrich, beloki, mayo etc.. I started watching cyclingsport in 1998 by the way, so you can imagine which legends i mean ;-). it made so much fun to Play with those guys so i got an idea. Now i got good conditions to start a nostalgic 2004er database. before that i got few questions:
- lachis editor is a great tool but it crashes a lot. everytime i wanna regroup a slot it crashes. you guys got the same Problems? any solutions?
- normal editor dont work. everytime i want to start the editor there ist a error report that sometihing with my JIT Debugg isnt working. Any solutions and do i Need that editor when i have lachis editor?
- jerseys: ist realy hard to find good jerseys at this point. yesterday i found an ugly rabobank (im not even sure that it was rabobank but it looked like) from pcm 2016 an copied it into my DB, named it an it didnt work. What do i wrong? I can remember 1-3 years ago there where plenty oldschool jerseys as additional sponsors but i dont find them and by the way im not sure if i can add them because of the rabobank example. so i was wondering if there is anybody in this forum who wanna make this jerseys for me?

-Playerstats: ist easy to stat the best riders right but what i got to do with riders like Mario Aerts, Andreas Klier or Theo Eltink? I've no clue how im gonna stat them? These riders where all in the very old PCM manager is there a way to see those stats from one of the old game aroound 2004? any other ideas.
at the end of course i will upload the database on steam if i get my Problems solved.

PCM Focus has some really old dbs out there: https://forum.pcmfocus.com/files/
So you'll also be able to see some CYM4 ones

Try another editor. Since you're making a db like this, I'd suggest trying Excel Editor!

Just don't use it, it's very, very bad.

hey guys
ive finished the 2004er db right now. its not perfect but for now its enough to Play and have fun with those old guys ;-).
i created 19 teams by myself and as i thought im finished i found the old database from sali so i tried to copy those riders into the game. you can see the difference between mine and sali riders by the pic of each riders i made them round.
i replaced only the best teams and all the rest stayed in the database so you can Play Career with the normal quantity of the other teams.
the teams are not 100% correct sometimes i included stagiares or for examples future talents like nibali who started at fass bortolo 1 year later.
i tried my best at the riderstats but its really not easy. some riders might be overpovered some underrated and some riders which had a great past like Museeuw where made better then they were atm by purpose.
so my question is anybody interested to Play this DB so i will upload it.
and this brings my question how i can upload my 2004DB into the dowload section of this site? |

It is because your steam level is too low. I think you'd have to spend 5 euros/dollars in the steam market to get to a level high enough to share workshop mods for everyone. You could upload the db to a file sharing site like MEGA and post it here, I'll add it to the download section

Hi BiG T. First off I would like to say that I like the 2004 DB theme.
Why? Because I bought my first cycling manager (4) in 2004. Since then I started looking to cycling mo intense and started riding myself aswell.
I've been making a 2004 DB every year (apart for 2016, I skipped that PCM version. So I could give you my DYN_cyclist for the rider stats if you want that. For the teams I can not really help you that much because my DB has a twist (for teams like rabobank I use the jersey from LottoNL jumbo because when my career reaches 2017 I still want that feeling that was is going on now is also going on in my game).
Also I've been making an excel file where every rider gets into my game in the year they also got into professional cycling. You talked about Nibali for example, in 2004 he did already ride U23 races, so he should be in the DB already (since there's U23 races/teams in the game now (this kicked my ass 2 years ago when they introduced this...)). Riders like e.g. Greg Van Avermaet started riding U23 races in 2005 so I would add him in the winter of 2004-2005. This way he can ride U23 races in 2005 + you could offer him a contract in 2005 (in either a dev. team or your pro team).
I also made a DYN_contract_cyclist. I'm not sure about the 2017 version (I'm still building that DB for myself) but you couldn't use the table at the start of a career unless you copy/paste the table into your career savegame DB. I could give that aswell (but you'd have to sync your teams with my DB then...).
If you want me to post your DB in the workshop when your steamlevel is too low I'm happy to do that, I'm steam level 18 atm. I would of course take no credit and redirect to you as author.
Just let me know here (or pm) if you want anything of what I just said.
