Good sprint by Groenewegen, powerful! Shame Greipel didn't win it, he'll be kicking himself. Great end to the tour, I hope vuelta will feature good sprint !

How? there are lots of guys, quicker than him still in the race, when it comes to flat stages...

Then the Tour is finished for this year. So not much after Froome and Sky dominance on the first stage, the first time trials. Let me guess, Team Sky drove in speed so the others sit on wheels all the way to Paris, just like all the other years. Being exciting and see who will be number two next year after Froome in Tour De Sleep!
Just hold me to Giro, Vuelta and especially the cobbled classics as they are the absolute best bike race!

Because it's nonsense to talk about that here.
Example:
"Only idiots around. Oh, not talking about you. I'm talking about another forum."

Paul, do you realise you made this a much bigger deal than it initially was by just being unnecessarily fussy? There was no need to point that out, like at all.

I am still hoping that already next year..he will be challenged.
This year he did not look that supreme at all. That team around him was just to good.
Stage planners also did fuck this up.
Chris Froome 4 time tour winner..who would have believed that one. How he managed to sneak on that top podium place 4 times already?
He reminds a little Anquentil..who was cold, calculating bastard who always did get what he wanted (he of corse had lot more style) Same time Poulidor was fans favorite.
Froome is also had one more fenomen..how one person can be that uncharismatic. |

His speech was rather uninspirational indeed.

So do we actually pretend now that Froome was not best rider at Tour since 2013?
He domines the race with his team (and certainly not only because of it), he is deserved four times winner, not someone who sneaked on top of podium
He won it with many TT kilometers and even without many TT kilometres. He won the edition with cobbles in it, he was attacking uphill, downhill and on the flat...he was even running!

and he comes again with 0 wins and wins a tour..just tour. |

Ehm...he has won 7 individual stages at Tour during his career...for the reference, Contador has won 3, he is even bigger boring sucker i guess?
Btw to say "just a Tour" is...lame. This win is bigger than anything in cycling, like it or not.

Thats the first time it had happened tho. He won 3 stages in 13, 1 in 15 and 2 in 16. Thats pretty good IMO. |

Doesnt Froome crashed before cobbles in 2014? Or there were cobbles in 2015 as well? I do not remember

Ah, sorry, i thought you mean stage wins...but are you aware that in years he has won the Tour, he also won Dauphiné (three times), Romandie, Oman and Andalucia? Also 2nd at Vuelta (twice), 2nd at Tirreno and 3rd at OG TT?
So to say..."again with 0 wins, just Tour", that is another non-truth.
We are speaking here about best stage racer of last five years, not "just" some random bloke who cares about one race. Of course he cares about it more than other races, it is biggest one of them all.
I cant believe i somewhat "defend" Froome, but this nonsense here is getting out of hand...

There is just nothing there - he consistently seems to say what he thinks people want to hear but it comes across as absolutely souless and insincere...
I have no idea who he really his, for all I know he might be a nice guy but I have nothing that seems remotely genuine to make a judgement :/

Yep, iirc some 6-7 sectors in 2015 Tour, not the hardest ones though...but he was right there near the front in that stage, even leading the pack alonside Nibbles.

I see him as a typical "PR sporstman speaker"....he says what he has to, nothing else, just phrases that we have heard many times across sports. I dont think it is unusual in cycling, majority is like that.
