Cepsa - Estrella Galicia | PN & TA
Aquarius97
I'm starting a story in PCM 2017 with team Cepsa - Estrella Galicia, a new Spanish team which will compete straight in the World Tour.

i68.tinypic.com/1zx2kxg.png

Both main sponsors have signed a ten-year deal with the team, so we won't have to worry about lack of sponsorship for several years.

The team is composed of 30 riders, with some young riders and also some experienced ones.

While creating the team, I put myself two rules:

1- Team salaries could not surpass the 700k barrier (i think i ended up around 675). This was to avoid having a superteam from the beggining. This only gives me margin to have 2 superstars (79-81 MED), and a big bunch of decent riders (74-77 MED)

2- I could only select 1 rider per team, in order to not heavy harm any team, like i did in the past. This rule is only broke for 1 team, because team leader "asked me" to bring with him a team-mate.
This means that my 30 riders come from 29 teams

Game information

- Difficulty: Extreme (except for TTT, which i will play on hard, at least for the first season)
- Random potentials: Activated
- Crash frequency: 0.5
- Prices coefficient: 1
- Database: PCM.daily Lite Pack (although it has some changes that i made, like some stats)

Winning his first stage in a GT, in last year's Vuelta a España

The 24-year-old Danish is a promising sprinter, who has already won two stages in Vuelta a España with his former team, Orica. This year, he will repeat Vuelta a España, where he will be the main sprinter. We will also have big focuses on Cataluña and Dauphine.

He has set himself a few goals for this season:

- Win a stage in Vuelta a España
- Win at least another stage in a World Tour race
- Win at least 5 stages in this season

lovely plan - the team is a tad too mainstream for me and I don't see an identity yet, but I'm looking forward to gain on it within this story Smile

@IanButler, @VoetsT : Thank you both your words. We'll see who are the ones left

@Croatia14 I guess the lack of Spanish riders in a Spanish team (only 5 total) might be a little worry, but i hope to fix that for the second season, to have like 10 Spanish riders next season

Lamba
While I applaud the written stories, especially those where there's a bit more effort into making it look good too, I agree with Croatia14 here. It just seems like you picked a bunch of the best talents without taking any of the real top riders.

When I read Spanish team, I immediately thought of something like Euskatel or even Movistar, who are more international, but pretty much only southern nationalities (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Latin american).

That said, I'll proberbly follow for a bit - and good luck with it. Smile

@Lamba Thanks for your comment. I say to you the same that I said to Croatia
@sutty68 It does look great in game

Alexey Lutsenko

keyassets.timeincuk.net/inspirewp/live/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2016/03/WATSON_00004527-004-630x420.jpg
Celebrating his win in stage 6 of 2016 Paris-Nice

Lutsenko is set to be our man for everything in our team. He is just that kind of a rider who can go well in every terrain. He will be a key rider in our Tour de France squad, where he will be a great helper in all terrains, and might have the chance to fight for a stage win. Also, in the first part of the season, his main focus will be the Flanders Classics

His season objetives:

- Win a Tour de France stage
- Make it into the top10 of a cobbled WT classic
- Take at least 3 win during the season

Lilian Calmejane

static.independent.co.uk/s3fs-public/thumbnails/image/2016/08/23/18/lilian-calmejane.jpg
Celebrating his (yet) only win in a GT stage, in last years Vuelta a España

"The next Thomas Voeckler". It might be a very simple way to summarize this rider, but the true is that Lilian Calmejane seems to be the exact same rider as Thomas Voeckler was in his good old days.

His season objetives are concentrated in April-May, as he will take part in the Ardennes Classic, where he will try to get a top10 in at least one classic, and Giro d'Italia, where apart from working for the team leader (TBA), he will have to chance to fight for a stage win

His goals for the season:

- Win a stage in Giro d'Italia
- Finish in the top10 of a Ardennes Classic
- Win his first GC

Very nice story and jersey. I think, that miss you stage race rider.

Btw, Are you from Czech republic, because I am from Slovakia.

Aquarius97
@Croatia14 Hope you also like the 3 remaining riders
@iker321 There are 2 riders left to be announced, so don't worry about the provisional lack of a stage racer. I'm from Spain. Why do you think that i was from Czech Republic?

Tejay van Garderen

cdn.media.cyclingnews.com/2015/03/26/1/sptdw602_670.jpg
Celebrating his win in La Molina, in 2015 Volta a Cataluña

Former known as the next hope for USA to win Grand Tours, Tejay van Garderen has accepted that he doesn't belong anymore to the group of riders who fight for GT wins.

This season we will have a extended calendar of one-week WT races in the first half of the season, before going to Le Tour looking for a stage win, without any GC ambitions. He will also race La Vuelta, just as a mountain domestique

Season objetives:

- Win a stage in Tour de France
- Win a WT one-week race
