sounds very strange, both teams are the possibly worst fit for him (but pay the most?)
and he has contract until 2019 hasn't he? but either way, it will be interesting to see where Movistar goes with Landa, Valverde and Quintana

He won't get it and he can't pull it off anyway any more. Too many better climbers in the peloton. He is not getting any younger.

Last year he went 3-6-12 (one of which was as a domestique for a pretty average Quintana, the other a domestique for a very good Quintana after two GTs already, and the other only behind two of the best climbers in the world at altitude which he's not good at) which Quintana (and I bet most other of these so-called better climbers) can't do, apparently. This year he crashed out in the first stage of the Tour. Only other stage races were winning Catalunya and Pais Vasco, both ahead of at least 3 riders who are in the top 10 or have performed well enough that they could be in the top 10 in this year's Tour. He then came 9th in the Dauphine, which wasn't top but ahead of two current top 10 TDF riders. So with him not having really ridden a GT this year this is all the evidence we have, and he looks pretty damn good
