Tour de France 2017 | Stage 9 | Nantua - Chambéry

great stage, but I have the feeling even if Froome cannot drop anyone it seems, he still will win relative easily

A long way to Paris, but you are most likely right.

Trek Segafredo website says that Contador crashed twice. First because of Majka crash in front of him at 70 km/h and second because of Nairo.

I have not seen any update on Richie Porte.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

I am more injured than Porte at the moment, my injuries won't go away, his will.

Btw, he seems to have a collarbone and hip injury.

Still can't believe it, after everything. All the sleepless nights for this one guy, at least 20 in the past 6 months and many more under 3 hours. It all came to nothing, absolutely nothing. I always had a suspicion he would crash, but not that hard. It traumatised me more than him for sure and I didn't even watch it live (holiday thing) and had to wake up at 3:30am just to here all this.

Having now seen the crash, I probably would have been needed to rushed to hospital, more than him. I was always dreading something like this, it just had to happen on the one day I couldn't watch it properly...

Some things in life are just straight up cruel, but time passes, everything heals. Even with all the emotion inside me, nothing can be done to save the situation.

It's just disappointing.

Terrible stage today.
How many crashes we had?

Rafał Majka after today's crash:

According to Polish Eurosport cycling Facebook site, Majka said that he won't abandon of Tour, if he hasn't any fractures. Team Bora-Hansgrohe is waiting for medical tests results.

randomly clicked to hear a part. First thing I hear:

"The restday is one of the trickiest things to navigate in the Tour" Cool

What a stage, so many riders who had to abandon due crashes.
But as an fan of Cannondale, I really like the outcome. I hope he can hold this form to Paris.
But without the Porte crash, Martin had a fair chance toch win this stage as well

It sucks to be fan of these during week 1 - Valverde, Cavendish, Sagan, Thomas and Porte. All of them are out

why nitpick something from page 6?

So many people hitting out at descents is ridiculous, descending is part of the sport and always has been. I want to see more stages like today's stage, provided so much excitement and skill involved to navigate the difficult descents, it is what cycling is all about!

The reason why Fuglsang did desend the last mountain slowly, was becuase he felt the wheel he had gotten from the neutral service felt bad. And he did want to take chances.

Gutted! This tour is cursed for Australians. I watched Cadel crash or have poor form all those years now this. No Sagan or Cav either, will be a boring last 2 weeks for me.

I agree, the only bad thing about the finish was that it flattened out. Scrap 5-10 kms and it'd be a great way to end the stage. I actually prefer nowadays those downhill finishes compared to the mtfs.
