Fortunately, Lopez avoided the major injures: he got a small fracture of the right thumb, two stitches and a few abrasions on the right side.

I reserve the right not to call him Superman until he stop crashing so frequently, a real Superman aint supposed to do that.

Too bad that Superman Lopez is prone to crashing, hope he gets it worked out well and rides better in the peloton. At least injuries mean that he can still ride Tour. Vamos Miguel!

But to be honest, riding in the bunch, positioning, not crashing etc. are just as much a part of cycling as climbing, sprinting etc. for good and worse. Its a super important skill, but it also has a lot to do with confidence and such. Its mental. Contador have had (has) those issues, earlier in his career he never crashed.. it takes time. |

its not about time
when you are strong enough you are fresh enough to move quickly to avoid crashes and get in gaps and be well positioned
but especially you are less tired so you are alert to bumps in the road and especially you are strong enough to ride close to the front all day where you will almost never be caught in a crash
contador is not as strong now that hes older so hes more tired less alert so he crashes more
that happens to everyone
armstrong had 1 crash in 7 seasons of dominance then he came back and crashed almost every race |

Plus bike handling skill. Some of us are acrobats on the bike, like Sagan. Others are just.. ehm.. a bit clumsy

Contador has crashed a lot in his career, not only in the last years.

Woods seems to be riding a great climb. Not losing time to the pack for quite a while now. Don't think the favs are gonna give it all with Rettenbach coming up tomorrow

Thanks. You would've thought a Spaniard could take the heat of Switzerland

Spilak would've got back on by now if his jersey was zipped up/more aero
Edit - now he zips it up after getting to the group and sitting on

He is from Basque Country, not the most hot region in Spain
