I think most people are tired of the song at all at this stage Happens every year at this time, big pop-club hit gets overplayed before the clubbing season really starts
Justin is from Canada though so I figured why not
Well, here in Bulgaria we're so tired from the original Despacito that for the first time ever there will be "A day without Despacito" on one of the radio stations. No kidding - it's actually going to happen Edited by ivaneurope on 10-06-2017 06:45
For the first time in the DSC's history the theme song will be a song in the native language of the host nation and performed by an act from the host nation. This job has been handed to the seasoned professionals BLØF who perform with rapper Typhoon who comes from Gelderland. The sopng's title is also the theme and slogan of this season's edition 'A World Of Difference'. The lyrics refer to war, discrimination and refugees. Paskal Jakobsen, the group's front-man said this: 'it's an honour to create an anthem for this great contest, and especially for the 10th edition in The Netherlands. We originally wrote the song in English but we felt like some of the message was lost, so we switched the lyrics to Dutch, the DSC producers called us and loved the Dutch version. Then later we were told that they were going to make the song title the slogan and we were quite proud of ourselves at that point. I think I can speak for all of us, saying that it will be a pleasure to perform at the 2nd semi-final and represent both old and modern style Dutch music. We'll see you there!'

After months of speculation and competition, the final of ScotSong took place last night inside former DSC host venue, The Hydro. The selection show chooses Scotland's entry for the upcoming DSC and this year was the toughest ever. Who was to follow in KLOE's footsteps? In the final there were acts such as Benjamin Ingrosso, Púr Mudd, HONNE, DSC veterans such as Twenty One Pilots and Loreen were involved in the show as well. In the end there could only be one winner. Loreen stormed to victory in the jury vote with her song 'Statements', a politically driven song with a stunning stage performance which had references to Nazis, Banksy and the French Revolution. However a landslide victory for Lorde's song 'Perfect Places' in the televote bought her a ticket to Amsterdam. It will be the first time the Kiwi will perform on stage at the contest after being New Zealand's spokesperson every season since DSC #1.
Following their victory in the Winter of 2015, ranking fourth on the list of highest scoring entries, Softengine will return to the anniversary edition representing Finland. Song to be announced later.

Give in Ewan - you just changed the rules to send Lorde without having to leave Scotland
I've been exposed...
tbh, this was a really shitty change - if this trend continues we just have a contest of songs and not a contest of countries with their songs to represent them...

Luckily we've still got a good number of countries representing with their own songs to maintain some normailty

From looking at the posts it looks like it'll just be this edition.

This is correct, the rule will be back in place for the next edition. I planned this as a one-off for reaching a 10th edition and I hoped that through tgia change this edition would be the best ever.
