Lukas:

Just letting you know that we have taken your advice on board and have dropped about 80% of all riders with 77 mtn and above by one point in their TT/pro stats to see if this balances things a bit better and also raised the rec of some TT specialists as well.

We could have gone for 2 points but better we think one point for now and if this doesn't fix the problem then in a few months we could knock another point off if needed

For the Rest:

No idea why Froome is getting so many 82 mtn here, at least wait for the Tour and Dauphine to see how he goes first!

Also remember that there are 'favourite races' attached now to a lot of riders which hopefully will make them perform better in certain races.

i might be wrong but it seems to me acceleration makes a big difference

ive run a few races with Chaves and Landa in the same form
the difference is night and day
Chaves blows Landa out of the water.

im tempted to make a bunch of riders with the same stats except acceleration and put them all in the same mountain race

They have 4 points difference and Chaves is one of the highest in the game but yes acc does make a big difference which is why we give high acc to Ardennes type riders, riders like Chaves and natural sprinters.

btw Landa is a problem rider to stat should be an 81 mtn imo but being a dom at Sky and always being unlucky when he is given leadership makes him more of a 79-80 mtn rider which is why Chaves with his acc is likely to beat him. we really didn't want to start giving Froome's dom's more than 80 mtn

Am I the only one who thinks Dumoulins mountain stat deserves to be 80? Especially seeing guys like Pinot, Landa and Zakarin with higher suggested stats as seen in above posts.

I mean the guy just won a GT in which he was second best on Blockhaus, dominated on Oropa, consolidated his losses despite taking a dump and being alone in the double Stelvio stage en easily controlled both Nibali and Quintana in the stage to Ortisei.
Also has he now won mountain stages in all three GT's.

Melniek, please keep in mind that Dumoulins back-up stat will make him feel much better in mountains than just his mountain stat...

Can we all agree that Nibali is a better time trialist than Pinot and Zakarin please?
If now Nibali has 75... put them both at 74 Rolling Eyes

So apparently Aru is as good as Nibali, Quintana, Contador and Porte. Also Bardet only gained time on the downhill's in the tour thus finishing 2nd. Pinot was very strong in the Giro and perhaps deserves to be with Nibali but not sure on that one.

My stats with reasoning:

82: Froome (self-explanatory), Quintana (was probably the strongest going uphill in the Giro having taken Blockhaus and being the rider who attacked the most underlining his pure climbing abilities.)
81: Contador(has been ultra strong in stage-races this year finishing something like 4 GC's in 2nd place), Porte (was incredible in Romandie wherever he got a chance to show his climbing credentials as well as winning every queen stage in the races he has been to).
80: Nibali(arguable if he deserves 81 showing his climbing legs weren't so bad being able to match most of Nairo's acceleration's, but burning himself out on Blockhaus was a big mistake for the Italian), Pinot (a strong Giro that saw him able to climb with the best), Chaves (unproven this year, but deserves this stat because of his performances last year podium-ing in 2 GT's), Landa (won the KOM jersey and a stage in the Giro reviving Sky's race), Bardet (deserves the stat in virtue of his tour performance, but hasn't proven himself yet this year at all only being able to produce a top 10 in the one-day races rather than the stage races.)
79: Pozzovivo (mightily impressive in the Giro attacking when the time was right on many occasions), Valverde (hard to judge Alejandro with his amazing hill stat so I would go on the safer side. Every race he had competed in leading up to Ardennes week was in Spain so it is even harder to judge how well he is actually climbing and also with his altitude sickness), Mollema (fought hard in the Giro, but wasn't a very spectacular ride for the Dutchman. At least he helped his countryman in winning the race), Dumoulin (talking about Dutch people, Dumoulin just about reigns supreme with a magnificent Giro win which was thoroughly deserved), Majka (super strong in Cali and is even more justified to gain this stat being a 2-time KOM jersey winner in the Tour), Henao (super strong in Paris-Nice showing exemplary climbing form, but he has clearly peaked for that and may not be as good now especially only coming 8th in Pais Vasco.), A.Yates (didn't see the best of him with his morale shot early in the race with the moto incident, but can clearly climb well looking at his previous results in Tirreno and Catalunya), Martin (a rider that hangs around in the top 10's of GT's and can excel in most uphill terrain.), Zakarin (Pozzovivo and him seemed to create a small alliance through the last week which paid dividends for both. Ilnur was very good in the Giro.)
78: Poels (hasn't proven himself at all this year, but his feats of last year were very impressive), Kruijswijk (disappointing Giro for him proving that his 2016 Giro was fairly lucky), Talansky (strong effort in Cali, but it was his home race and was bound to ride well and ride well he did. Still not well enough for a higher stat),Meintjes (poor year so far not being able to fit in perfectly with his new team, but will get chances in the Tour.), Reichenbach (a loyal domestique who gives 100% for his leader always and most certainly has earned this stat)

There are many more riders to discuss with, but have 8 exams in 3 days in the upcoming days....

I have no idea why you guys keep on posting these 82-78 stats lists and only take into account MO. What about all the other backups? Going in-depth about one single rider is a lot more helpful than just typing out your opinion without even argumenting it - like most of you do. We get it, you also watch cycling.

That being said, good post Raziz, I feel like I have to point out a couple of things though:

disappointing Giro for him proving that his 2016 Giro was fairly lucky

He had stomach pain, calling his 2016 Giro lucky is oh so ironic  The guy was with Contador and Landa throughout the last week of the 2015 Giro too...

super strong in Paris-Nice showing exemplary climbing form, but he has clearly peaked for that

No one peaks for early season races Pfft If anything, he's possibly peaked for the Ardennes and we might see him in great shape again at Le Tour.

Yeah, but people rather remember the off days (only 1 basically, stage 19, and maybe the 15 seconds on stage 20) then the high days.

A trade off would be better MO (at least 80, otherwise dumoulin could not win GT's in PCM), and worse REC (75 range), because that would be realistic.
Having him at 78 MO just won't cut it anymore. And on his best days he is in no way worse than Zakarin or Pinot

Well, I put him on 79 in my game and that's perfect. With 80 he would basically dominate everything he touches.

Hell having Dumoulin on 80 with his other stats would be like creating a monster, much more realistic to have him on 79 which is what he will be in the DB.

If he actually starts to ride like Miguel Indurain in the future and starts to destroy everybody then 80-81 would be possible a few years down the line.

I did, and you completely ignored me, twice.
Then they do what you don't want to, and you reply...that makes no sense xD
