PCM.Daily Grand High Wizard Contest 2017
Raziz
There will be a race where I completely mess up, so building the gap up now will help in preserving the lead to the finish.

Giro picks are going not so bad either.

Aquarius97
So it's my seventh win of the season. Closing on the leaders, and if not for bonus points, i would be within less than 100 points with 6 races less than the others

In Giro's bonus question, what happens if Quintana and Nibali win the same number of stages? Bonus points for everyone or for no one?

Giro d'Italia Result

Podium
1) Tom Dumoulin
2) Nairo Quintana
3) Vicenzo Nibali
4) Thibaut Pinot
5) Ilnur Zakarin
Points: Fernando Gaviria
KOM: Mikel Landa
U25: Bob Jungels
Answer to Bonus Question: Who will win more stages, Nibali or Nairo? (for 20 points) is Both won 1 stage each.

It was a rip-roaring Giro, going down to the last day, with Dumoulin coming from 4th to clinch the title in the ITT. The race winner was picked by two of our predictors, Croatia and Aquarius. Quintana was the most popular rider with nine picks against seven for Nibali. Pinot was second highest with eight! Zakarin made up for an early time loss and rewarded three members with five points for 5th place.

Just two picks for Gaviria winning the Points classification with Croatia again among them. The more popular Nizzolo retired midway through he race. The KOM picks were more evenly spread out, although Landa was the choice for the highest number of members. Jungels and Yates shared nine of the ten picks for the U25 classification, Jungels rewarding four predictors for their loyalty by pipping Yates to the post in the ITT.

Emre and Abhishek were one pick away from correctly picking the top 5. Nobody predicted more than two of the classifications correctly while everyone picked up 20 points for the bonus question as Nibali And Quintana managed 1 stage victory each.

The updated table looks like this:
NameRaces EnteredBonusesTotal Points
Raziz22240725
Selwink22255720
purepasd22195710
jandal721230655
Marcovdw22155635
AbhishekLFC21170615
Aquarius16145610
emre9921185570
Croatia1422125295
Ian Butler420210
Luxemburger790165
Squire460100
trekbmc200

Ian wins his first race with three correct Top 5 picks, 2 classification picks and the bonus. His return of 145 in this race is the highest single race return this season! Emre's near miss on the top 5 does not gloss over his lack of correct picks elsewhere as he scores low. Jandal, who had earlier been putting the pressure on Selwink for second place, scores the lowest in this round, uncharacteristic from the master predictor. Talking of Selwink, him and Purepasd are nor piling the pressure on Raziz after the latter's disappointing race - second lowest total ahead of Jandal. Aquarius overtakes Emre, having participated in 5 races less, while Croatia scores his first big score of the season. A record seven members pick up more than a hundred points in this race. Suddenly, three clear groups have emerged, the first three, the next five and Croatia and Ian fighting to avoid the Lanterne Rouge among active participants.

See you again for the Criterium Dauphine...

Another great race, and now only 115 points behind the leader.

I was scared that Year Long Preditions 1, as i wasn't part of the game yet, would kill me at the end, but at this point, only Emre has got something on that, predicting that Valverde would win LBL

Very impressive so far. I don't think Set 1 will have a lot of very high scores. So you shouldn't be at a massive disadvantage.

Bonus Question: Will the winner of the Alpe d'Huez stage also win the GC? (15 points)

Raziz
This might be a bit biased, but I am certain of my bonus question rider (will fill out the podium later).

Rider 1: Chris Froome
Rider 2: Richie Porte
Rider 3: Alberto Contador

Bonus Question: No

You know that potato is equally likely to be correct as an answer to that bonus question?

It's a yes or no question though Pfft

Is it given that the winner on Alpe d'Huez will win the GC? In that case I can change the bonus question.

Yeah that was exactly my point, Richie Porte was not a correct answer to the bonus question, just like potato Pfft
