Our season has seen several ups, but maybe even more downs. Today though we are set to look at the ups and thus celebrate our palmares, that doesn't look too bad at all:

5 wins in total is the count we made: 3 Mountain stages for Anton, a time trial for Tennant and a stage for Bole. This looks good in first line, sadly there was not a single classics win in this group. Our best result in one of these was surprisingly a second in the opening race, achieved by Timmer.
Several important results were achieved in stage races, including the two points classifications wins of Anton. The basque, together with Tennant, also made up for a decent number of GC results.
Possibly the biggest disappointments came from 3 categories: Mezgec was too often consistent but not at the top, only appearing two times in the palmares. We completely lacked a decent KOM result, which shows that some second row attacking needs to be required next season. And Drucker, especially on C1 cobbles, really suffered from bad luck this year.
But to come back to the nicer part: Anton had a great season scoring 3 wins + two points classifications for us. If it wasn't for last days on tours it might have been some GCs as well. We also appreciate the number of times Grega Bole shows himself up on the palmares, being our best Slovenian this year and also the most consistent in terms of vital point scoring.
Several young talents will surely try to ensure, that in the upcoming years this palmares will be extended further! That will be needed, as depending on the division next year possibly several of the big fillers of the palmares won't be #meninlime anymore, eventhough they'll keep a place in our lime green heart forever. Stay tuned!

Up and down season for you and those results show how good you were and could have been - Anton and Bole especially are amazing even if Drucker and Mezgec weren't as good as you wanted.

Nailed it jands! Well, we'll see what transfer season brings...But with the Slovenian possibilites that might appear on the market, especially in terms of young riders, a re-shuffle might be possible.

Having seen the team standings and the palmares already, we'll now continue to shine a lime-green light on the individual standings:
1 | Serghei Tvetcov | ROM | | cycleYorkshire s/b ASDA-Savers | 554 | 2 | Enrico Barbin | ITA | | Ferrero - Samruk | 537 | 3 | Andreas Stauff | GER | | Kraftwerk Man Machine | 472 | 4 | Kiril Yatsevich | RUS | | The Spark Project p/b Bollé | 459 | 5 | David De la Cruz | ESP | | Team Ticos Air Costa Rica | 445 | 10 | Igor Antón | ESP | | Isostar - Adriatic | 400 | 30 | Andrew Tennant | GBR | | Isostar - Adriatic | 204 | 35 | Jempy Drucker | LUX | | Isostar - Adriatic | 178 | 48 | Grega Bole | SLO | | Isostar - Adriatic | 147 | 71 | Luka Mezgec | SLO | | Isostar - Adriatic | 104 | 78 | Albert Timmer | NED | | Isostar - Adriatic | 99 | 116 | Gabor Kasa | SER | | Isostar - Adriatic | 59 | 139 | Egidijus Juodvalkis | LTU | | Isostar - Adriatic | 48 | 266 | Luka Pibernik | SLO | | Isostar - Adriatic | 9 | 282 | Gasper Katrasnik | SLO | | Isostar - Adriatic | 7 | 321 | Martin Laas | EST | | Isostar - Adriatic | 3 | 358 | Aksel Nommela | EST | | Isostar - Adriatic | 1 | 383 | Ahmet Orken | TUR | | Isostar - Adriatic | 0 | 384 | Mihkel Räim | EST | | Isostar - Adriatic | 0 | 385 | Rok Korosec | SLO | | Isostar - Adriatic | 0 |
Looking at the standings we see three points:
1. Antón was that big leader we needed to fight for promotion. Without his last-day issues he could've well taken a podium on the individual ranking to bring us into the promotion ranks.
2. We had a good number of secondary scorers. Tennant should've been more though, I don't want to check how many points he would've had more without Yatsevich in the division.
3. We completely lacked tertiary scorers. By scrapping some talents and instead focussing slightly more on these we might would've had a more comfortable season. Luckily they are next year on tertiary scoring level themselves partly.
Climbers:
1 | Serghei Tvetcov | ROM | | cycleYorkshire s/b ASDA-Savers | 554 | 5 | David De la Cruz | ESP | | Team Ticos Air Costa Rica | 445 | 7 | Martin Hacecký | CZE | | Kraftwerk Man Machine | 420 | 10 | Igor Antón | ESP | | Isostar - Adriatic | 400 | 14 | Emanuele Sella | ITA | | Elta - Hellenic Post | 336 | 16 | Marc Christian Garby | DEN | | Carlsberg - Danske bank | 313 | 17 | Sergei Pomoshnikov | RUS | | MOL - OMV Petrom | 310 | 18 | Yasmani Martinez | CUB | | Chiquita - Universal | 303 | 21 | Jonathan Salinas | VEN | | Xero Racing p/b Octagon | 263 | 42 | Andriy Khripta | UKR | | New Balance | 156 |
A good job by Igor, given the low support he had. Taking a look at Tvetcov and de la Cruz getting beaten by those is okay, as they are better in the allround game. Still Anton should've taken it to 500 with slightly more luck and better use of his acceleration. Being beaten by Hacecky hurts as Anton clearly is the better rider, though outstanding planning and the being on the right side of the PCM AI turned stuff around. Great job D2B! Sella as a similar rider to Anton behind us is good, same for the limited Dane and our big rival from MOL. Good job also by Xero climber Salinas.
Time Triallists:
4 | Kiril Yatsevich | RUS | | The Spark Project p/b Bollé | 459 | 25 | Ramunas Navardauskas | LTU | | Ferrero - Samruk | 241 | 30 | Andrew Tennant | GBR | | Isostar - Adriatic | 204 | 34 | Riccardo Zoidl | AUT | | Sauber Petronas Racing | 181 | 61 | Mark Christian | GBR | | Schuh powered by Wiggle | 114 | 76 | André Steensen | DEN | | Carlsberg - Danske bank | 100 | 95 | Gert Joeaar | EST | | Eddie Stobart | 82 | 98 | Ian Stannard | GBR | | cycleYorkshire s/b ASDA-Savers | 76 |
Screw you Kiril Yatsevich. The Russian dominated - hopefully we'll never face him again as he's Tennants nemesis. Navardauskas up there is explainable by the hilly sprint strength of the allrounder. Every other (allround-) time triallist is beaten clearly like it should be, still Tennant could've well used some more points.
Cobblers:
6 | Geraint Thomas | GBR | | Podium Ambition | 430 | 13 | Marc De Maar | CUR | | Carlsberg - Danske bank | 360 | 35 | Jempy Drucker | LUX | | Isostar - Adriatic | 178 | 43 | Robert Bush | USA | | World Cycling Centre | 156 | 45 | Bert-Jan Lindeman | NED | | TVM - Beslist.nl | 155 | 62 | Martin Grashev | BUL | | Podium Ambition | 114 |
Drucker has shown this year that he, besides allround wonder de Maar, was the second best cobbler of the division. No chance though against Thomas and his rather strong cobbled support. Beating the equally talented Bush and the very similar Lindeman is nice.
Punchy Sprinters:
15 | Simon Geschke | GER | | Löbauer Stadtwerke - Etixx | 324 | 25 | Ramunas Navardauskas | LTU | | Ferrero - Samruk | 241 | 44 | Marco Canola | ITA | | MOL - OMV Petrom | 155 | 48 | Grega Bole | SLO | | Isostar - Adriatic | 147 | 49 | Filippo Pozzato | ITA | | Ferrero - Samruk | 147 | 64 | Elia Favilli | ITA | | MOL - OMV Petrom | 111 |
The crown of the punchy sprinters went to Geschke. No surprise here, but the margin with what the German did beat Bole or Favilli, very similar riders, is surprising indeed. Beneath the strong Ferrero duo also MOL scored great here with Canola, who is the surprise in this ranking. Bole should've been a lot closer to Geschke in the final standings though; but it's nice to have beaten Favilli. An Oscar Gatto could've been interesting here, eh Margh?
Sprinters:
3 | Andreas Stauff | GER | | Kraftwerk Man Machine | 472 | 9 | Ricki Nelson | AUS | | Podium Ambition | 401 | 19 | Mohamed Harrif Salleh | MAS | | Sauber Petronas Racing | 283 | 31 | Giacomo Nizzolo | ITA | | New Balance | 196 | 37 | Damion Drapac | AUS | | Chiquita - Universal | 175 | 38 | Carlos Alexandre Manarelli | BRA | | Chiquita - Universal | 173 | 46 | Alexander Krieger | GER | | La Poste - Mavic | 154 | 47 | Armindo Fonseca | FRA | | Elta - Hellenic Post | 147 | 53 | Michael Vingerling | NED | | TVM - Beslist.nl | 139 | 54 | Geoffrey Soupe | FRA | | Podium Ambition | 139 | 57 | Simon Clarke | AUS | | Xero Racing p/b Octagon | 134 | 58 | Marco Guillén | CRC | | Team Ticos Air Costa Rica | 132 | 59 | Ismaël Kip | NED | | TVM - Beslist.nl | 131 | 67 | Ben King | USA | | MOL - OMV Petrom | 107 | 71 | Luka Mezgec | SLO | | Isostar - Adriatic | 104 |
We did look at something we didn't want to: The sprinters table. Was it a good year for Sprinters? Yes. For Mezgec? No. He's a long way down the order of equal riders, despite having loads of freedom in his racing program. Stauff the big one here, but most surprising surely the overperforming Chiquita duo and Krieger, who with stats very similar to Mezgec did a huge job here. Still a couple of decent sprinters like Xero hero Scully left behind us luckily.
All in all our riders have shown decent consistency, and they mostly lived up to the expectations. Our captains guided the young team very well, especially pointing out our basque captain Igor Antón. However, something special was missing to secure promotion - but maybe our riders that come back from Pro Tour loans can bring this to our squad. Success is the only option next year.
With this view we close out our looks on 2016. Let's head forward now inot a hopefully even more successful year 2017. The performance of the #meninlime made us proud, and we want to continue that path in the future. Feed the beast with sour limes! |

thanks a lot SotD - I'm kind of proud of that update, but it scares me at the same time: being in the Top 5 in 3/5 major categories + having Bole well in the "joker category" hilly sprinters and still not promoting makes me feel like having put in too much effort into mediocre talent and loan outs instead of depth...but let's see, there is a spare chance that we still promoted - and then our tactic would've played out perfectly (according to predictions btw...)

Thank you jt
Not sure with the "winning the division" part - as said: Next year might be the year of 2 big additions on the FA market, seeing both best talents of Slovenia in the right age to be added. And we want to sign the best Slovenian talents from now on, so our money would be set aside first for David Per and Domen Novak and then for further additions on any cost. We will do everything to sign the most talented Slovenians, even if that scraps our promotion ambitions!

Thanks a lot the_hoyle! Anton indeed did a good job this season, it was a pleasure to have the personification of that basque attack climbing spirit in our team. However, his future at Isostar is in doubt, not because of his abilities but because of the cap space we might need to fill up with national prospects instead.

More news from the headquarters in terms of the sponsors from Novo Mesto! The big Slovenian company, Akrapovic, has decided to join the sponsorship as a partner of ours.
Supplying exhaust systems to all over the world the company of founder Igor Akrapovic has grown into a global player and also big sports supporter. They will support us by contributing our funds put, but even more valueable as a logistical partner in terms of using their several basements all over the world.
On further news, we signed a contract with a designer. There will be a new design on the jersey in 2017, that should stand out as well as last years work by GT sports. We can not wait to reveal the plans that in terms of the team management look absolutely amazing, but at first there have to be some more contracts signed.
Rumour has it that Isostar - Adriatic will expand in their logistical system for the future. In a couple of newspaper articles the presence of Isostar - Adriatic has increased, especially in the digital media. Most of these increasing hits have taken place in Belorussia, Ukraine, the Baltic States and even Russia.
General Manager Miran Tepes has given a statement on these rumours: "Yes, there will be an expanding range of focus for us. Therefore several options were considered, and we can agree on the fact that talks have especially taken place in eastern Europe. We can confirm that there will be a second team basement besides our one near Novo Mesto on the Valley close to the Triglav mountains and the strategical placement in Udine."

BREAKING NEWS!
Dear Audience,
we are talking to you, honorable invited crowd, from a place where we took a huge step up in the internationalization of our project. We are talking to you from a places, which will take a lot of value. A place to celebrate the rise of the cycling project lead by Isostar together, a place where we think of what went wrong on days that were not as successful. But this place will stand for our team,
and you'll know that as long as you stand here.
We, ladies and gentlemen, are sitting and standing here in the lime lounge. The LimeLounge will be a future partner for us, and not only just a partner. They will provide us with whatever it takes to have a great atmosphere in our team, from welcoming dinners to team parties. They will also contribute to our funds, and be part of our structure project that takes place here in Pärnu, Estonia.
Because not only we have a place to meet up here. Right on the other side of the street we have our new second basement, built up for dealing with logistical and administrational issues and in further terms work on the spread of awareness of our project. This is a huge step forward to take part in the eastern european and especially ex-soviet/baltic market.
The presence of 3 young Estonian riders in our team, Laas, Räim and Nommela, surely helped us to develop our plans here. And also to find the Lime Lounge as a sponsor. But even further, our futuristic team complex needed more funds to be raised for it's creation! Plenty of support therefore came from the Estonian Green Building Council, that helped us to find clear financing for this modern and in the same way substainual building.
More news from the heart of Estonia coming up in the next couple of days, stay tuned for that.
Miran Tepes, General Manager of Isostar

Some very nice and fitting sponsor additions to your team. Going more Estonian cannot really surprise anyone who saw your list of rider suggestions for next season. I like it. It's really cool to see someone else prepared to develop Baltic cycling. Now we've got to find someone to focus on Lithuania and we're ready to conquer the world.

I'll do it if I can have the legend that is Siskevicus (look at ICL for what me and him could do together)

did somebody say Siskevicius?
@knockout: Would love to see baltic cycling rising like that! But then, for a Lithuanian team some more riders would be need to be raised than just those in the db, looking at their distribution and only 6-7 riders that are "good enough" so far.
@Scorchio: a basket of lime love to you too!
