I hope he will be good, but hopefully he won't beat Merkcx's record.
He's already beat him if you don't count tt's

I really hope that Cav will be fine again very soon. I want him to beat Merckx' record. That would be so amazing. He's a really nice guy, but I don't think he'll make it in time. Mononucleosis takes 10-15 days for adults. And after that you're weakend and need months to be back on form. But I hope that he can prove me wrong.

Everybody has to count TT's tho when it's about stage wins.

Cavendish a nice guy? Sure
But it is a shame to see any rider to suffer from ilness and season possibly ruined...

They should be counted, hence why he hasn't broken the record.
However tt stages and road stages are different, hence the different world, Olympic and national titles for road and tt disciplines.
I was simply pointing out Cavendish has more TDF road stage wins than Merkcx, or anyone else for that matter, which is also an achievement in itself.

Its really too bad, hope he can recover. Flat stages are boring enough as they are already.
And some of Merkcx's stage wins should count for two anyways. |

This just in: Sprint's are different from Mountains. TT's are different from Cobbles. All records are meaningless in comparision

Indeed, thats why when/if Cavendish beats the record, It really won't matter to me since all his victories basically are the same. There are the odd echelon stage and the odd semi-hilly stage he survived, but otherwise, it copy paste. |

Don't worry about him guys. Cav will have his Corticosteroid TUE, and he will be ready to break Merckx's record

This just in: Boonen's Roubaix victories all the same, no-one understands the hype

As are his Ronde Van Vlaanderen victories. He rode hard on some cobblestones, that's it.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Yeah, he's a nice guy. He may be rough, but he's nice and really liked by all of his teammates. Tony still occasionally talks with him.
