Close and not close at the same time. Only one rider ahead of Aldo but the sprint wasn't a close call at all .
Finishing second in a 17-man group is an amazing result, especially because Lature's sprint is usually not that good. The first real cobbled season has been great for our team: 1x 12th (Omloop Het Nieuwsblad), 3x top 10 (Dwars door Vlaanderen, Gent - Wevelgem and RvV) and 1 podium in Roubaix. Some promising results for riders that are still so young

Klasika Primavera (1.1) País Vasco, 165 kms We're delighted to race in the Basque Country after having dropped by succesfully one week ago. Today we are starting with 100 kilometers of Basque flat. The ultimate 60 consist of three local laps, each of which is spiced up with two short typical Basque climbs. Typical as in very steep. Gorka Izagirre joined a 10-man break that did not contain many good climbers. Gorka tested his buddies at the first two climbs. Among them many struggled, but most of them'd succeed in holding on a tad longer. That wasn't the case anymore after the third and fourth climb. Gorka had managed to drop everyone but Movistar's Óscar González. Too bad he surely was not planning on doing his fair share of the work properly. The peloton brought the gap down to one minute with two climbs to go. But we believed in Gorka, and Movistar clearly felt the same way about González. And Tinkoff wasn't eager to take on the duty of chasing all by themselves. Quickly, 5 minutes got added to the front duo's advantage. When González and Izagirre were about to pass under the red kite the former's teammate Rubén Fernández attacked at the final hill. None of our guys responded right away as they lost any chance of grabbing 3rd. In the end Izagirre triumphed by a clear-cut margin, securing his first victory since a stage win in teh 2017 Tour of Taiwan. That way, he also denied González a very first win as a pro. Several minutes later, Rubén Fernández' attack got rewarded with another podium spot for Movistar. They certainly do, but nothing is a guarantee in the world of cycling
In the end he couldn't, sadly he's no longer strong enough to be a team leader
He was ecstatic that he could stop by in his birth village with a win in the bag

Long may it continue indeed, but success can be so transitory... we'll keep on working hard and hopefully more of those good results will be coming our way then

Paris - Camembert (1.1) Normandie, 204.2 kms Off to the northwest of France, for a race that looks much easier than it actually is. After a very long false flat section the final third is spiced up with several climbs including the truly challenging Mur des Champeaux. Under a strong sun, Chávarri joined forces with the Frenchmen Erwann Corbel and Morgan Lamoisson. These three would set up today's break. Next to nothing had happened when the trio made their first passage at the finish line in Vimoutiers. Six climbs and 65 kilometers left, and their once advantage of 8 minutes had been reduced to less than half: 3'31". While the bunch kept closing in, Ion Izagirre got involved in a crash at the worst possible moment. He would make his way back to the front of the peloton but would not be able to follow the upcoming accelerations. Chávarri knew he had to get rid of the other two if he wanted to win so that's what he did at the penultimate climb. Sadly, the bunch was close. Chávarri got reeled in by a small group, shortly after having conquered the Mur des Champeaux. Barbero sat in that group as well but a bit too far back, as three riders accelerated at the right-hand side of the road. Verona, Arredondo and Lunke comfortably made it to the last kilometer because behind them, no team wanted to lead the chase. They slowed down just before the red kite, but seemed out of reach for the chasers. The second group came close, yet Verona still claimed the win and his 68 kg-weight in camembert cheese. The Spaniard only won for the 2nd time as a pro, while Barbero had to settle for a disappointing 8th place. Thanks guys! A lot of our riders definitely have been looking forward to these races
Aquarius - Sagan came in GC 2nd in TDU and Ruta del Sol before finishing 3rd in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Shortly after that he abandoned Paris - Nice at stage 5.
Due to a fracture in his hand he hasn't raced since then. Doctors expect him to be back somewhere half May, in about one month
