4 events took place last month. 2 PT stage races, the PT classic in Lichtenstein and a hilly HC event in Ukraine.
In Colombia Gazelle at the lower ranking table scored big in the fight against relegation and scored a lot more than most others down there! Only Bouygues and I-Gen came close to them and as none of the other top teams scored really well, I-Gen is widening their gap at the top.
The Tour of Northern Europe saw another potential relegation team scoring big. This time Pokerstars with Kluge and Degenkolb. Just like Gazelle they are looking to be above the line surely.
Ukraine had a couple of HC points for PT teams again. This time Jayco`z taking the big points and hence another team from the relegation zone. Also Orange with some points as also I-Gen yet again gapping their direct opponents.
Only Lichtenstein saw I-Gen losing points. Not a lot though to Vesuvio and they gained a lot on Becherovka.
Also Orange and Jayco`z did well and hence the relegation fight is really close with several teams fighting.

The total ranking sees I-Gen having a strong finish here ahead of the final month. Is that gap even possible to lose?
Behind a very close fight with Becherovka still in 2nd with ~150 points advantage. Then Vesuvio, the team of the 2nd season half but in their neck already Aker, Puma, eBuddy, Aegon and also Evonik. Lots of promoted teams actually!
In the middle Tinkoff and Bpost fight for the top10 while Metinvest and Pendleton`s are just out there at the moment.
Pokerstars up to 15th and Gazelle remains on 16 and both teams look in a good position right now with a gap of more than 250 points.
Movistar the first team in big danger. Only 116 points ahead of the relegation line! And Jayco`z and Orange scored nicely recently and surely hope to continue this trend in October.
RedBull with only small chances while Kenya and Grieg are pretty much secured to go down.

Individually a new leader. Andy Schleck wins basically any race he enters and hence has passed Bewley for the lead.
Phinney doing nicely in 3rd with his skills, while Pluchkin and Trofimov come next ahead of Geisnk, who is having a nice season.
Degenkolb as best pure sprinter in a stage racer prone top10.

Not really nice to see the big gap between Swift and Degenkolb point wise...was hoping for a closer duel there but in the end the stronger sprint train was in favour of Pokerstars, so well done beagle!
Other than that my season is above expectations. Keizer doing a lot better than in the 2014 PT season, Olivier is the needed backup, while Boom did again well in TONE as I had hoped.
Add to that some stage wins here and there but the 2nd row and the top10 goal is almost secured, which I never expected to happen tbf. 13-15 I was expecting really. |

Looks like the top 10 is secured now. Only the question of how high we will be in that top. Probably not too high though as I have no top 10 contender for any of the remaining races.

Thank you for the update! Surprised to see us still in the top 5 after such a bad period. The TTT will only add to that, but then we can hopefully finish the season well and target Vesuvio, and maybe even Becherovka with a great finish, above us instead of being caught and passed by the four teams being very close to us from behind.
Looking at EBH's remaining race schedule, we really should be able to go past Vesuvio, but you never know with our captain, especially not this season. Speaking of him, 19th place in the individual standings says it all, really. Everything points to his worst season with us over the four years he has been here, ending 3rd, 12th and 6th in the individual standings in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Though, hopefully he can advance in the final part of this season  |

It can happen that we won't win the division, but much bad luck should occur as we have Simon Spilak in 2/3 races, while also having Jerome Coppel in Tasmania and Lisbon, where we also have both Tzortzakis and Coquard. Oh yeah, and Koretzky are in Tasmania and Lombardia like Spilak aswell.
So unless something absolutely crazy happens, I'd say we have it covered - And should probably also increase the gap, seeing us get 2nd in the TTT, and neither Becherovka nor Vesuvio are likely to end up 2nd looking at the points. A 1000 point deficit at the end of the season would be quite an achievement, after last season, where we needed a OP result in Lombardia to take the win.
As Becherovka are no longer a serious threat for the overall win, I'll definately root for them to get 2nd, although that seems very difficult looking at Aker. They should be able to keep Vesuvio behind and the rest are far enough down to realistically end behind.

If only we had scored 100 points more in ToNE...but that would be complaining too much.
Except for Tinkoff, who I expect to safely finish Top 5 now after the TTT, we gained on all teams around and below us that still have contenders in the last races.
Nevertheless, we need a good day in Lisbon where either Ciolek has enough reserves or Demare takes over without any AI hiccups, and two consistent perfomances by Kelderman.
If we manage to perform according to our abilities, we can challenge for 6th overall, which would be far beyond anyone's predictions. Anything within the Top 10 is fine though as the season goal is the most important thing here, not the glory.
Congrats to Festina for winning the title!!
(oh boy if this turns out to be a jinx...)

I don't see anything that should hinder you in overtaking Vesuvio though, so a top 5 is definately still possible.

Van der Lijke outscoring us in Lisbon and Gastauer outscoring Kelderman in Tasmania and Lombardia isn't too unlikely.

A good month that, but we're definitely doomed. Still, great to see the team score the 2nd most in ToNE.
Looks sealed for I-Gen and SoTD. Will require a massive effort and some bad luck to prevent that. The relegation battle looks very tense though, especially after the TTT result. Will be very interesting to see how that goes.

With some likely to be decent at least races left it seems unlikely that we'll finish lower than our current position. Best promoted team or top 5 would be awesome and as close as it look right now it might still be possible but we need to do well in every remaining race. A better ToNE would have helped a lot for that task.

100% sat waiting and hoping the races run out for the other teams now Phinney has really done the job this season to keep us afloat and I can't be anything but very happy with how the season has gone so just crawl over the line and seal another year in the top flight please |

Thanks for the update. Keeping 2nd place likely won't be easy. I have to hope for a big result from Howard in both Lisbon and Tasmania and then Sagan absolutely needs to do his magic in Lomardia. It is going to be close and quite hard to stay in top 3 (my goal).
Anyway, congrats to Festina. What a team!

The slow and steady decline continues. Every year it seems we are in some sort of regulation/promotion battle, so at least our guys have experience in dealing with this I guess.

We still have two Ginnani races left though, so I think there's a good chance we'll survive.

Really rooting for your survival here, but despite having two Ginanni races left, I do feel it's becoming way too close for you, as I expect Jayco'z to have Bobridge for Tasmania and Goss for Lisbon, while Tejay usually performs better than Ginanni.
Fingers are definately crossed from here!

Not a good sight for Metinvest fans though, as we are outside of top10 and we dont like it. I would hardly imagine being out of top10 near the end of the season, we were rather aiming for top5 with team around Pluchkin, Grosu, Ignatiev or Zmorka. But reality is different...we are not able to score in races where we should, mainly TTs are just around par or a bit below, nothing great against the clock whole year. Ignatiev is just below average whole year, he simply ignores one of the best stats setup in whole database. Somebody saw some attacks from the guy with 85 fighter? Or is this stat disabled in PCM15???
At least Grosu and Guardini are saving us with above average sprint results and stage win or podium here and there, i cant say anything against these two (and Pluchkin).
There are still some days of racing left, but only very good results can see us back in top10, i dont believe in it though. How teams like Puma, Aegon or Evonik are above us in the rankings is beyond my understanding, but well...
Anyway, some tense battles going on in the rankings, especially in the bottom tier, where the fight for staying up is still on. I just can say that i hope for active managers to stay up and missing managers to go down, as they will disband anyway. I see like 3-4 teams for disbandment apart from us?
Festina is sure and deserved winner, dont play "we are not there yet" SotD and enjoy the absolute dominance

Probably due to better balance this is.
I mean Swift is top top class. Just like Pluchkin.
But then there is Keizer, Olivier, Boom, De Bie, Groenewegen and some 75-78 riders such as Bennett, Villella etc.
So it`s the small scoring here and there that rarely allows a bad scoring race.
In the end the difference isn`t that big and with a bit of luck here or there, it all could be mixed up there from 5th to 12th. |

Due to perfect ToNE, our situation looks much better now, but we are not safe yet! We already lost something from our margin against Jayco in TTT.
With 3 races left, situation remains unclear. Lisbon Classic is too unpredictable, we can take both a lot or nothing there. Tasmania? I desperatelly need Ion Izagirre being considered as strong enough to compete (not only participate as always) by PCM AI. And finally, we can´t score a lot in Lombardy with tons of much better puncheurs fighting for glory...
Big congrats SotD, defending of the MG-throne is really amazing!
